Iceland...the island that inspires the film industry with an ever changing landscape of blue lagoons, red Martian lands, waterfalls, and lick-able glaciers... all while catering to van dwelling tourists!
I don’t know who makes the musical selections for your videos but your choices are wonderful and very unexpected in such a good way. No one else has such a wide range of vintage and soulful music. I even bought your theme music from iTunes and added it to several playlists, including my playlist of absolute favorites. Also, kudos for your effective drone usage. So many UA-camrs go overboard with drone use to the point it’s boring, but not you.
Awe thanks Carol! That means a lot. Thank you taking the time to comment. We usually buy all our music online, from Music Bed. We'll be listing those in the description from now on.
I seriously can never get enough of you two! I rewatch your videos when I start getting anxious and your personalities make me feel better! I’m trying to convince my boyfriend to go to Iceland and rent a van!
Wow!!! Standing ovation guys - your videography on this was spectacular, better than a movie!! And I have to say Marie, your Eyes were Smiling as you saw these sights!! Iceland, bring Joy to your Eyes!
Aww thanks Tom! Honestly, Iceland is our favorite country so far. The people are nice and the landscape is beyond this world. Truly feels like planet Mars. See you next week in New Zealand.
I love the vibe on your videos, the music, the way you edit and of course the happiness on you guys. It's been a joy to watch your videos, especially in these times of social isolation, it's truly help my day get easier. Thanks and take care.
Spent three days there - holiday cut short as the airport was closed for bad weather (December). Absolutely loved it, we dream about going back in summer months, so welcoming and scenic. Would now like to do a camper van trip thanks to this video, thanks you two. x
My family of 4 went in summer 2018 for 2 weeks. The nicest places we enjoyed were those unexpected, those we saw cars stopped but were not in any tourist map. The trip to watching wales was a waste of money and time. Riding horses on the black beach was much better! The weather was so changing!! Waterfalls were awesome 🥰 BTW drones were forbidden when we went... Thanks for your great video!!
Yeah, the unexpected places are the best. We are not big fans of crowds, hence that’s why we suggest going during shoulder season. Drones were starting to be controlled in 2016, but we also share or buy drone shots of different areas that local videographers shot with permits.

My friend and I went to Iceland in Sept. of 2018. It is such a beautiful place. We stayed in hostels. As an American, to be honest I had never even heard of hostels before and it was such a neat experience. Kind of different for us, sleeping in a room with a bunch of strangers you don't even know. But it was actually quite fun. We met a lot of interesting people, we got to see the Northern Lights, the glaciers, the moon rocks. At first we were thinking wow, there are so many churches, everyone must have their own church, but later we decided those must have been family cemeteries that everyone has on their properties. Waterfalls everywhere. I think it just might be the most beautiful place on the planet.

What a shame we humans can't figure out how to take better care of our planet. Apart from that it looks like you had a great trip. Guess you can't miss what you never had/saw. Iceland was populated by emigrant Norwegians in the period 870-950 AD. Icelandic has much in common with the Norse language as it was spoken in Norway until about the 13th century. Myvatn means my water. My is mine and vatn is water. The Icelanders also took up some words from Irish Gaelic. But now I do not understand a quack of Icelandic language, but we love the people there. Reykjavik means bay with smoke, Reykja is smoke, vik is bay.

I went on a trip to Newfoundland with my sister a few years ago and it was epic. If you ever head out that way you should try Iceberg Beer. Its SOOO GOOD!
It's an amazing country to visit in a van. In terms of packing, Dom and I are really minimalistic so it wasn't hard for us. If you need help, we're here!
This looks so amazing! I really need to travel more in the future but I don't like airplanes so baby steps haha. That is probably why vanlife was so appealing to me, keep low to the ground
@@vanlifesagas I have flown one time, the trip there I was seated by a window and it was fine but back home it was in the middle seats all the way back, that was horrible
I always wanted to ship my motorcycle to Iceland and tour the country in the early nineties. That dream never came true, but we did go on a four day city break to Reykjavik and did the golden circle. It was also my first time on an aeroplane. How did you find the prices, coming from England everything seemed very expensive.
What do the lines represent? I see Dom point to them in your intro. WHAT was that throwback, vintage GPS?! LOL Marie - yes, a FART! REALLY enjoy when y'all talk your native tongue! Dom - O M G the French lesson. FINALLY something I can use! LOL Truly...y'all are pretty great. HUGS and visit TEXAS!
Fun video! Can't wait to see the others to come! How long do you suggest a trip to Iceland for? Is 10days 2 weeks doable ? Im surprised with your french lesson of today. Thats like the first sentence people say when they dont speak french... mdr..
10 days is sufficient. Most people actually travel around Iceland in 7 days. 10 days allowed us to take our time and see more things. It was perfect :)
Is there plenty of gas stations in between? Looks like nothing and nothing in between. Where did you guys park to sleep? camp grounds? anywhere there was a spot by the street?
Yeah, there are a few gas stations along the way. But most cars are diesel. I think we fueled like 3 times. It's quite a small country. In terms of camping, when we were there in 2016, we could sleep anywhere. Now, you do need to sleep in campgrounds but they are VERY well located.
"it's a big canyon" 😂 well it looks like that because there are tectonic plates there ripping the country apart. The name itself, Þingvellir means "parliament place" or something similar and comes from the fact that the settlers held annual parliaments there, deciding on laws and passing judgements there. Close to the canyon where the river flows is a place called Drekkingahylur where women whom got the death sentence were drowned, the last one in 1793. The men had their heads chopped off ;)
Hello from Amnon in NYC USA. Thank you for sharing your video's very pleasure. I also like very much the songs you have. All the best to you and stay save please. Amnon. Do you ask yourself why is the church is black. Fine out. ⚘🙏😁
Hi .this is NOT CORRECT at all. Coz the members of the black church did not have the same faith as other Christians churches .so they have been not able to belong with the white churches. Now that have to be along .I hope that helps you with the answer. Amnon. NYC
Oh really? That’s interesting. I wonder if they see it that way over there as well? When I look it up online, it says the same thing. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
The Renault Master has nothing to do with the Ram ProMaster. The Master is a van that is produced by Renault, and is also sold as the Opel & Vauxhall Movano and the Nissan NV400. The ProMaster is produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which is a rebadged Fiat Ducato from Europe. In Europe, the Ducato would also be rebadged as the Peugeot Boxer and the Citroën Relay (UK)/Jumper (rest of Europe).
really enjoyed this video, music, edit and content was great, very natural. I'm with Marie "the place you can lick glaciers" is it wrong I think that sounds sexy? looks amazing. We just booked our Happy Camper 3 for next May (so excited). Curious to know about top bunk. Marie, if you had to sleep up there, would it be too tight? My friend is about your size, and she's concerned. Any tips on things to bring with us to make the camper more organized/convenient? (clotheslines, etc). Our first time ever in a camper van, so we are newbies! Can't wait!

Salut Julien!
what month were you in Iceland? We were in Iceland end of August and it snowed. ;) Still agree with the shoulder seasons. Especially with all the natural hot water swimming holes.
It was in September. And there was still snow in many places. One guy over there told us they get 10 meters of snow per year. That is pretty awesome.
@@vanlifesagas Wow. We better stop complaining in Canada
I went on a trip to Newfoundland with my sister a few years ago and it was epic. If you ever head out that way you should try Iceberg Beer. Its SOOO GOOD!
Ohhh it's noted! Thanks for sharing that. Added to the list!
Big canyon? You are talking about the frigging crack between the continental plates!
Hahah that friggin crack!
Great video. I never knew Iceland was a perfect destination forr travelers. Was it difficult trying to figure out what to pack?
It's an amazing country to visit in a van. In terms of packing, Dom and I are really minimalistic so it wasn't hard for us. If you need help, we're here!
Aaaaah.. so jealous of this trip. One day I'm gonna go to Iceland too
We seriously can't wait to go back. It is just too beautiful!
This looks so amazing! I really need to travel more in the future but I don't like airplanes so baby steps haha. That is probably why vanlife was so appealing to me, keep low to the ground
Ohhh fear of flying is real. Marie is also scared of planes. But she manages to handle it. You can do it :)
@@vanlifesagas I have flown one time, the trip there I was seated by a window and it was fine but back home it was in the middle seats all the way back, that was horrible
What time of year did you do this trip?
This was at the end of August/beginning of September. Best time to go. Crowds are gone, not too cold, and we even saw the northern lights.
You should have yelled "Play JaJa Ding Dong!!" at the country festival 😁
jk. Iceland looks like all my favorite movies combined into one.
Hahah Jaja Ding Dong. What 😁
Just love you're sense of adventure. Don't know if licking an iceberg would be on my list though! Lol
Licking the iceberg was the best part.
I always wanted to ship my motorcycle to Iceland and tour the country in the early nineties. That dream never came true, but we did go on a four day city break to Reykjavik and did the golden circle. It was also my first time on an aeroplane. How did you find the prices, coming from England everything seemed very expensive.
Oh you are right! Everything is very expensive in Iceland. I would definitely ship your motorcycle though, that would be a blast.
Don't have one anymore, that was 30 years ago!
I would love to go back just to see Seljalandsfoss.
I wanted to say Iceland is beautiful but rather cold...but then I remembered you're canadian ..so you don't feel cold ;)
Hahah to us, Iceland is much hotter than Canada in the winter.
OMG, I so much love the "French lesson"!!! Do you really say/use the phrase "sexy times" in English??? I love it...
Haha we do use sexy times !! A Lot.
What do the lines represent? I see Dom point to them in your intro.
WHAT was that throwback, vintage GPS?! LOL
Marie - yes, a FART!
REALLY enjoy when y'all talk your native tongue!
Dom - O M G the French lesson. FINALLY something I can use! LOL
Truly...y'all are pretty great. HUGS and visit TEXAS!
Hahah you must check our van tour. You'll now what the yellow line represents, and you'll also be making fun of Dom. Wait for it.
Eu gosto muito desse canal, é sério! Kkk
Thank you very much! We are glad you like it. Is that Portuguese?
@@vanlifesagas Yes I'm from Brazil. Thanks for answering. =D
@@vanlifesagas awesome! Thanks!
Yay, we get to see your other travels! Iceland: no CGI required
I’m pretty sure the tourism board of Iceland would buy this Moto tomorrow morning!
@@vanlifesagas good idea!
The men had their heads chopped off ;)
Whattt! Where were you when we needed you a few years ago in Iceland?! We didn't know that. Thanks for sharing ❤️
@@vanlifesagas Guiding or fining tourists for speeding :')
Hello from Amnon in NYC USA. Thank you for sharing your video's very pleasure. I also like very much the songs you have.
All the best to you and stay save please. Amnon. Do you ask yourself why is the church is black. Fine out. ⚘🙏😁
Very good questions Amnon. The church is actually painted black with pitch to protect it from the harsh Icelandic elements.
@@vanlifesagas you very welcome
The Renault Master has nothing to do with the Ram ProMaster. The Master is a van that is produced by Renault, and is also sold as the Opel & Vauxhall Movano and the Nissan NV400. The ProMaster is produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which is a rebadged Fiat Ducato from Europe. In Europe, the Ducato would also be rebadged as the Peugeot Boxer and the Citroën Relay (UK)/Jumper (rest of Europe).
Yeah, very true! Marie meant it looked similar!
really enjoyed this video, music, edit and content was great, very natural. I'm with Marie "the place you can lick glaciers" is it wrong I think that sounds sexy? looks amazing. When you guys coming to Bonnie Scotland to explore the west coast, the best wee country in the world. And from a straight man, with that accent and those flowing locks I'd give the "french lesson" serious consideration, just saying ! je vous aime les gars
HAhaha, tanks for the invitation to Scotland. We will definitely let you know when we go! We were talking about a road trip around your country this morning! Pretty crazy you are inviting us now!!!
Can't wait!
PS. We're both 64, not as nimble as we used to be :-)
Tell us how your trip is going.
And please say hi to the team for us. The word “Sagas” in our brand comes from over there!
@@vanlifesagas I will! May 2022!
Seriously sounds like a fairytale!!
It seriously was. Did you see the New Zealand video as well? Very pretty there also.
@@vanlifesagas Love NZ! It’s on my watch later list ;)
Hope my videos will have the same quality one day my friend!
Of course they will, you just have to practice! If you have any questions, we're here!
What about Australia?
Oh we're on it! Can't wait to make it there one day. Any recommendations on places to visit?
Iceland where you can lick glaciers😂😂 that should be Their tourism slogan..
Hahah totally 😂
YaYYYYYYYY!
See you next week in New Zealand :)

Soooo pretty!

Thanks Marcus!
