I used one of these for 3 years when I was an instrument man on a survey crew working for the California Division of Highways, now CalTrans, around the Bakersfield area. It was a lot lighter and easier to carry around then the old transits. You just had to get used to the fact that everything you saw in the eyepiece was upside down since the image was not inverted as transits were. Oh, I was was doing this work in 1960. Cliff
I remember using those as an undergraduate. We traversed for miles using them with very little misclosure both underground down a mine and on the surface.
Dear Professor Doug I have one T16 68Deg. it has a problem with a micrometer eyepiece. It is not fit in its location. How can ı learn thread size of it? Do you know this size? Thank you.
