The Gentleman is amazing, I love his channel. The Gentleman's Guide videos are some of my favorite things on UA-cam. His Toreador video sent shivers down my spine, it made me realize that Toreadors are absolute monsters.
I would love a new VTM game, and looking forward to the Werewolf one, don't think I will live long enough to see it sadly, but would be awesome. Which just makes me more sad that we never got the World of Darkness MMO that was supposed to happen. :(

This is so useful, I wish I could use this for instructing the people that are playing with me, but neither the DM nor the players will watch anything longer than a tik tok. Or read, for that matter. Theyre so lazy they expect us to explain the short version of anything that makes possible to fill in the skills without having much information on lore or reasons why, my DM even tried to use ChatGPT to summarize the corebook so he wouldnt have to read. I know TTRPG is about having fun and everyone is too tired to invest time, but if thats how little interest they actually have, might as well play a video game where you can just mash buttons and not think about anything. I read the corebook being just a player and having to explain everything even for the person that wants to DM can get annoying sometimes.

If this is true then he was indeed 6th when he began, but has since used a ritual to become 5th Generation. He is also over 1300 years old, so he would have been old and experienced even during the war (which is probably why he survived it).

@@worldofdarkness non-pc sourcebook. Sabbat have been removed as far as a player is concerned. Oh my. oh dear. If not obvious, it should be, that v5 is a hodgepodge mix of accepted new merit but an easy and almost expected fall back to previous sourcebooks for "official lore" when v5 "merit-lore"(this is the term coined with respects Ive heard) falls short. Sabbat being the biggest example current. I do hope W;TA avoids this, but now have started to purchase all old versions(2nd to be exact) due to expectations. Currently I'm even writing a "transition/transplant guidebook" on how to bring old to new. Feel not embarrassed for this is a testament to the original concepts, thank you to jason and other OGs for naming such an amazing setting.
@Scott Whatever It really isn't a bad suplement. As it is not even a suplement so to speak. In contrary, i find it sum up particularly well all plot point of contemporary Jyhad, underligne and present many important actors, grant a glimpse of bloodline s and out-of-the-road environement (Laibon, Samedi) while making the metapolot progress (banu Haqim, mithras). In term of lore adding, i think it's one of the best Vampire Book out there. And many think alike if i'm to trust ratings of the book.
@Scott Whatever I could summarize all plot point in an A4 page if i wanted to. LOTR Plot point could be summarise as such too. if you just want a list of plot point, don't buy a book, go look at a wiki. A narrative book, which Beckett Diary is, is about developping characters, ambiances, themes etc. If you didn't notice, each chapter give you possible playable story parts. Developping the atmosphere, which Vampire is all about, is then necessary to making a good proposition of story. And about islam, seriously stfu. YOu are playing vampire. If Islam is for you what's evil in there, i think you missed about 95% of stories, characters, themes and issue proposed by this RPG altogether. and agian, you may dislike it, but the VAST majority of the community consider it one of the best book out there. The amss is not always the best argument but for once i think it is.

So in the end, i jsut disagree, deeply, with the integrality of what you said, and i could propose hard evidence concerning the rating of the book. I sincerely advise you to start rethinking how sure oyu are about things. Start some introspection and some self questionement mate, again you are not the bearer of universal truth.

Well, as a real first introduction to VTM metaplot as a whole, as I’m still a real newbie to rpgs as a whole (just over 3 years in d&d, cyberpunk, and a few others) Color me intrigued. Perhaps I’ll be digging into the new edition once it drops to see if I enjoy it. Perhaps I might need to seek out a copy of Master Beckett’s work.

Yep, in the old Gentleman's Guide to Vampires series he gradually revealed his clan to be Cappadocian or Harbingers of Skulls. In the Pentex Guide to Werewolves he was playing a Malkavian antitribu.

In contrary, i find it sum up particularly well all plot point of contemporary Jyhad, underligne and present many important actors, grant a glimpse of bloodline s and out-of-the-road environement (Laibon, Samedi) while making the metapolot progress (banu Haqim, mithras).
In term of lore adding, i think it's one of the best Vampire Book out there. And many think alike if i'm to trust ratings of the book.
@Scott Whatever I could summarize all plot point in an A4 page if i wanted to. LOTR Plot point could be summarise as such too. if you just want a list of plot point, don't buy a book, go look at a wiki. A narrative book, which Beckett Diary is, is about developping characters, ambiances, themes etc. If you didn't notice, each chapter give you possible playable story parts. Developping the atmosphere, which Vampire is all about, is then necessary to making a good proposition of story.
And about islam, seriously stfu. YOu are playing vampire. If Islam is for you what's evil in there, i think you missed about 95% of stories, characters, themes and issue proposed by this RPG altogether.
and agian, you may dislike it, but the VAST majority of the community consider it one of the best book out there. The amss is not always the best argument but for once i think it is.
@Scott Whatever 1) you need to Outright stop.I mean Stop completely, both assuming you detain complet truth and that evrything must agree with you.Sorry but no, ido'nt consider islam worst than someone kidnaping kids, raping them and skinning them.I think you are the one that should question you perception.
2) As i said, for the first time, the book is not a gaming suplément.It's purely a story book, a lore book. YOu may not like the lore it propose, yet i can assure you that it is far better written than similar suplément realeased previsouly trying to do so.
3) You may not like what the game propose, yet i find personnaly far better than waht the gehenna was about before that, mainly just erasing all Vampire world, which i don't find ;..very interesting.And do not assume what i know : i think this is a good interpretation of what the end of the world should be in a prophetic vision. Ergo, some kind of global warning.I'm not a fan of a "End of The world".SO no, idont Know it, i disagree deeply with what was gehenna before this.
4) i find the metaplot interesting : it propose and underline a lot of place and characters,.If you lack the imagination and ability to use them in your game, that's on you buddy. The book present locations, characters, their motives and their behaviour and psychology.It introduce a lot of side plot than lack any add on as of now : Laibon, Caitiffs, THinblood, Bloodline reunions, Vlad, etc. It does a great job to use Beckette as a contact between all those stories that ahve been evocated here and there.
5) I already told you, i said it have been well aclaimed thanks to the sells of the books, the review on different sites and the discussions in the forums.I do'nt say it's universally liked, just that it is globally a liked book, considered well written.I won't give you all links tot hose info, you are a grown up man, go do the search by yourself. GO to DriveTHruRPG and see the review.Do a search on Onyx FOrums.
7) About the horror, you are playing and meeting character that are litterally invocing demons to ravage cities and sacrifice innocent to acquire power. You can play creature that reap the very soul of another being to increase their power, that destroy the will of thousands of mortals in order to feed on them.Tsmice literally make people into chairs. And they are still alive.
8) In the end, you just seem to be overly up your own ass, and having a hate boner against islam ...for whatever reason., in a world where you are presented with inhuman creature that kill, maim and exploit for funs to degree hardly imaginable.
So in the end, i jsut disagree, deeply, with the integrality of what you said, and i could propose hard evidence concerning the rating of the book.
I sincerely advise you to start rethinking how sure oyu are about things. Start some introspection and some self questionement mate, again you are not the bearer of universal truth.
This is going to be great, gotta say, as someone who's been following your work since the early days on UA-cam it's really gratifying to see all your skill, dedication and hard work pay off in work right in that field you seem to have such an aptitude for. White Wolf seems to know talent when it sees it...

Fingers crossed they will be playable at some point i couldnt in good conscious betray my Clan by playing a Giovanni in V5 or any edition XD

Well, as a real first introduction to VTM metaplot as a whole, as I’m still a real newbie to rpgs as a whole (just over 3 years in d&d, cyberpunk, and a few others) Color me intrigued. Perhaps I’ll be digging into the new edition once it drops to see if I enjoy it. Perhaps I might need to seek out a copy of Master Beckett’s work.

Yep, in the old Gentleman's Guide to Vampires series he gradually revealed his clan to be Cappadocian or Harbingers of Skulls. In the Pentex Guide to Werewolves he was playing a Malkavian antitribu.
