Just discovered you. I have a new dog, Phoebe, a 5-year-old Chihuahua rescued from a puppy mill. She will look elegant in a Mac DeMini sweater, and In the bargain I will learn some new knitting skills. I appreciate the thoroughness and clarity of your tutorial!
This has to be one of the best knitting tutorials that I've ever followed. Your instructions were 100% clear and easy to understand. This is the first dog jumper I've ever made and I'm so pleased with the results. Having the written instructions to follow alongside was perfect and helped to develop my pattern reading skills which aren't great! Thank so much. Will definitely be looking to see what other videos you have.
Kudos to all of you knitters who can knit a Mac sweater for their special fur baby. I tried to knit but was all thumbs. Mac, of course, made an excellent model for his sweater. Two glimpses of Mac was better than no glimpse.

After making this sweater a couple times, I highly recommend the stretchy bind off technique for the leg openings as a better option. It is less restricting; providing a more comfortable fit. Also, if you like,
knitting through the back loop of the first and last stitch (the big/loose stitches) at the leg openings on the next round after the cast on round makes the holes there a little smaller I think. This little pattern offers a lot of great skills/techniques for the beginner. Thanks again for sharing your pattern. It is so much fun to make in different colors to suit different personalities! Love it!!!

I am so excited about being able to knit a seamless coat for my pit bull, she has a 15 inch neck and a 28 inch chest, so I anticipate several modifications to accommodate her. Your instructions were clear and direct and flowed evenly with the pattern stitches you were explaining. I have knitted 2 sweaters for my dog and I havent ever really liked the way they looked. This was the best one by far and so easy and cute!! I even used this pattern to knit sweaters for a couple of my friend's dogs. I also added a cuff to the sleeves since my sleeve edges were curling :) Thank you!!

Hi Taryn Thanks for this really easy to follow knitting tutorial. I learned 2 new things from your video: knit 2 together before the bind-off for the armholes (I've never done that before but it closes up any hole between the knitting and the BO) and I learned the i-cord. I have never done that before either but it makes a nice finished edge. So thanks a bunch! And happy knittint!

This is great! I am a very mediocre and slow knitter so I can't hope ever to finish a sweater for myself. But finishing a sweater for my dachshunds is possible! ❤❤❤
Loving this pattern and with my circular needles I can try it on my pupper as I go and I can combine sizes to fit I knit the neck ribbing in a medium as he likes his cosy sweaters but doesn't like it tight going over his head and did a small for the rest and made it longer as he is long weenie

I love this; your work is correct, detailed and beautiful. Puppy is happy to have such resourceful mom. As I was watching, I wondered if you could add more knitting to the existing sweater if Max grows, or do you just knit a new, larger sweater from the start? I don't know how to knit, though both my grandma and my mom were really skillful knitters. I regret now I paid more attention to technology instead.
Thanks! That’s a good question - I usually add a centimeter or 2 of extra space just in case he grows, but he is more or less done growing we think 🙂 For his smaller, puppy sweaters, I broke them down and reused the yarn for other sweaters/projects😉

I'm about to start a sweater for our Boston Terrier. It won't be easy as I speak German and you use a different knitting technique. But with patience it will work out. So thank you very much! ❤️

Wow I'm a crocheter as I just couldn't get knitting. I love crocheting😊 but resently I got given tons if knitting needles and accessories... that how I came to this video and I must say... your video is amazing, you are very detailed and I'm serious going to try my hand at this as I too have a dachshund 😅 and winter is almost here.
