I have been living in Japan for 25 years, (icelandic originally) and Kyoto is now sort of my hometown since i own a house there in the mountains just next to Ryoanji temple, and although i absolutely loathe Kyoto in summer, and in autumn, (because of the heat and the insects), this is still one of my favourite places in the world. Japan is really a country with something unique to it. At first i thought it was the architecture and the culture and the beauty of its nature and wild life, but in fact i have only experienced this aspect of Japan for a year out of 25 years, and yet i stayed here. What makes Japan so unique is the people. Japanese people are really something else. I wouldn't say that i always love them, sometimes they can really piss me off, but this is not about how much i sometimes dislike them, it is how much i love them. There are people i dislike far more than Japanese people on the planet, but there isn't another nation on earth i like the people of, more than the people of Japan. The honesty, reliability, kindness, politeness, integrity, efficiency, cleanliness, and righteousness, with an iota of self-indulgence and hypocrisy is what makes them so endearing and makes Japan impossible to leave for me.
I went to Kyoto and Nara on my school excursion twice. At that time I was a teenager and not interested in something very old and Buddhism. But I was stuck with awe when I saw old Buddhist temples. statues and shrines. Maybe I'm old enough to understand the value of the two ancient cities. This nice video really makes me plan to travel there. Thank you for posting this wonderful video.
Wow! Glidecam footage I actually like! I've not seen anyone yet who knows how to use one like a Steadicam. Excellent work! Great fusion of images with music. It was very uplifting to watch and made me want to watch House of Flying Daggers and Memoirs of a Geisha again. Bravo!
I'm japanese literature student whom love Japan very much. actually I have a dream to go to Japan someday. this video really give an ethusiasm to make it true. and exactly, this year I will go to Japan to do internship! :)
I absolutely love this video, such beautiful views of all of these places in Osaka kyoto and Nara :D I especially like the filmography of Inari Taisha shrine!! Great Job!
It takes absolute creativity to put this together with hard to find music... hats off to you! I even found the music on soundcloud. Stepeh Anderson is a great talent. And this video is stunning it just makes me want to go to japan such a spiritual land.
I visited Kyoto at Chinese National Foundation Period, GUOQING, and at Kiyomizu temple, or QINGSHUISI, 80% of tourist came from China and excited of all, 90% of women wore KIMONO. As a Chinese interpreter of Japan, my heart was full of gratefulness to Chinese tourists who treasute our culture.
hey, son. get out from your little shack and get a real look at japan so that you can take yourself out from the "reality" that you were taught wrongfully from chino goddemm communist govt. www.wsj.com/articles/japan-tourism-rebounds-to-record-level-1421723623 real impression of japan will break sina soon. lol
周圍貢 i dont get the reason why you claiming like that. not steel, people in japan developed from your old culture. and see, where is your own culture now? you guys just ruined many times by yourself. how many times your emperor has been changed ? what a idiot.
Real maiko and geiko are difficult to spot, the maikos at 4:03 are not real but girls posing for tourists to enhance the tourism indusrty or domestic tourists walking around town after a visit at a Henshin studio (transforming studio) But the geiko at 2:33 is most likely a real geiko.
Japan is the only place that made me smile.

Tourism office of kyoto? Nice work ;)
The worst part of watching these videos is when I have to blink.
so beautiful dude........... thanks for this diamond 2 my eyes...made them wet
京都は良いですよ。
