Welcome to a highly requested video! I wanted to sit down and interview a good friend of mine Tony because he and his wife have just decided to try out being Digital Nomads. They have kids who have left home, and o property investment for a living. In my opinion it's a fantastic time to become a Nomad but I wanted to hear about Tony's experiences, fears and ideas so far! Thank you so much for watching, and of course don't forget to subscribe!

    ↣ Are you a full time UA-camr?
I work full time online as a 'Digital Nomad' which means I get to travel the world with my fiance (Ed) and not be tied to living in any specific country. I do Freelance PR, teach courses on Udemy (check out my profile here - www.udemy.com/u/louisecroft/) and of course blogging and UA-cam.
↣ When did you start blogging?
I created my blog in 2012 when I was living in America. I was thrifting so much that I wanted to start sharing my outfits online and inspiring other people to look in charity shops. Now it's become all about my Digital Nomad journey and what it's like to be a female nomad.
    ↣ Where's your accent from?
I'm from the South of England but I currently live out of a suitcase travelling all over the world.
↣ Where is your favourite place in the world?
I fell deeply in love with Gili Air when we visited as a paradise getaway, but Chiang Mai is my favourite place to live. Plus of course, there's no place like home (Dorset in England).

Outstanding.....I have a similar story....starting my digital nomad journey in March at 43. Similar to him....the only thing that was stopping me was fear. Thanks for sharing!

30 And A Wake Up Starting at 53 in two months. The good news is, I’ve been digital around the US for 24 years. So I got that part down. I hope things are well.

I'm started my journey at the end of the month, moving to Europe from the US! I studied in Seville in college, actually. In 2014 I spent two months in Mallorca, which was a great test run for a longer stay. Wish me luck, all!

Possibly, the most inspirational video I have watched on UA-cam. Why?
I am a 54 year old, single teacher with no family.
    (Don't pity me
I love kids but never wanted my own.)
I am already a First Four Houses subscriber and was dabbling with Tony's ideas to set myself free from the ratrace. I also am an avid traveller and am in the process of setting up to be an online teacher. (Also as a way to set me free from the ratrace, and cultivate my own nomadic lifestyle.
So to watch a video by two people after my own heart, feels like destiny.
I am about to come into a little money so was going to contact Tony about smart investing to secure my fantasy future so this video simply...
    has to be...
    synchronistic!

I am glad that I found your channel. I am 53, been working digitally only for 24 years, and I am taking my show on the road. Columbia first, and October. Nice to see fellow over 50s out there as the vast majority of such videos are by much younger people. At least physically.

Great video. I am a 65 year old Marine living in a Toyota RAV4 Fulltime for 3 years and use my SUV to produce remote income. Many people struggle as a nomad trying to make income remotely. I teach nomads how to fish, rather than for me to fish for them.

Looking forward to digging in more of these videos. Me and my wife are in our 50's and started on a plan to a nomad lifestyle last year. Selling our house and stuff, going back to school etc. We are on course to start next year. Many of the video's I have watched are from pre covid and pre inflation. I am curious how things are today with airbnb prices increasing significantly. Seems you stopped making videos 2 years ago.

I would love feed back from Tony's experience. I am 46 and my kids are also now living independently. I am working toward developing some sort of remote business that I can begin and grow while still working at my "regular" job with hopes of eventually working remotely. This video was encouraging for me.

Not trying to sound Niaive, but why couldn't he work from his air bnb ?
Why did he need the additional expense of a desk space when he could use a dining table at the air bnb ?

    • @smacc3670
      @smacc3670 2 роки тому

I think working in your air bnb is very isolating, I like having the buzz of other people around me even if we don’t speak.

Great!! Marvelously video, and incredibly inspiring to many, many, people! Tony is very down to earth with very real and very helpful advice, he should start a vlog of his travel experiences would be great, he will inspire many😊👍Louise great job, you always ask such relevant questions, the answers to wich your viewers can always greatly benefit from - sign of a very good Interviewer. You also, are intensely interested in the answers and seem to have a really strong desire to genuinely inspire and support others in their dreams, desires, and aspirations in life, and to encourage others to follow their true path, and thier most fulfilling lifestyle! Which is a very Positive thing! Yet another great inspirational video. Great work Louise, many blessings and fortune to you.

Just started my journey at the age of 54. No fear, looking forward to my journey. Croatia for 3 months, Lisbon followed by Istanbul. Next year I’m hitting the Balkans. The only question I have is UK tax, which no one seems to discuss. Any pointers out there guys? Cheers Dom

it is easier when you have the saving to finance your travels. Very Happy for him. If I had his saving, no fear for me. I would travel full-time ! Digital Nomads have to work very hard to finance their travels, no?

I don't know whether to feel better or more terrified after watching this, lol. I have no plan B, no return ticket, and nothing to return to. I already have that nagging knot in my stomach which will only get worse, and probably lead to vomiting at some point in this process. It's the same feeling I always get whenever I go to a new place, even when living in the car, except multiplied several times. It's very disorienting and uncomfortable, but eventually dissipates, usually within a week or two. I have finished almost everything I need to do, with a month to go. So, at least I am still functional and productive at this point. But, nice to see someone even older than me giving it a go. I hope they do well and become seasoned pros. Hopefully I will find my footing quickly and get to a point where I am enjoying myself. Because right now everything is surreal and confusing! Lol, Cheers!

I can totally see how you feel - it's a scary life to be treading paths that are new and not "normal". You have to make your own adventures and it sounds like something you're fabulous at. Rest assured you have plenty of options - you can go anywhere you want and are highly skilled should you ever want a job for "security". I am sure things will pan out wonderfully for you, but this is a very common fear and we all relate! Hope you're doing well
