I've been in the club scene since the early 90s. I've been djing for about 20 years and yes this is definitely paying homage to the old trance sound. No, its not poppy or edm...its timeless. Like all great tracks, for sure a gem imo

Yes, if you had to put it into one genre, it would be melodic techno. It's so hard to put tracks under one specific genre for the last few years. I hear the best elements from all the primary genres from years ago. It is by no means the trance that we love from the 90s and 2000s.
