This song is soo massively underrated, and this song is probably my favourite thrice song. Strangely uplifting and Dustin does an amazing job of translating the mythic Greek tragedy into something relatable to life with key moments. So many people dont quite get the true meaning behind the cautionary tale of Icarus, Dustin does a great job of pushing the hidden message. "How will i know limits from lies, if i never try!" its a message everyone should take to heart and strive to achieve more than you think you can every day! Thank you Dustin and thank you Thrice!
What's even more awesome is that after he became a father, he wrote Daedalus... who is the father of Icarus, and tells the fathers perspective. Quite creative, and both songs are amazing, both have odd time signatures... brilliant, really
This band is likely the must underrated band ever. They are fabulous wow. I just got turned on to them from someone in a video that said he was inspired by them. My son goes oh yeah Mom I had the Artist in the Ambulance album on repeat for months! Love it!

5/4 or 5/8?? Fucking love Thrice and their crazy time signatures. This song goes from 5/4 (or 5/8) to 6/4 or 6/8 - and then back to 5's. Insanity. I love it. :)
Favorite song off this album it just is amazingly composed. Artist in the Ambulance is by far my favorite album of Thrice's. Their new stuff is pretty good but just does not have the same heaviness/impact of this album/Identity Crisis.
At this time the only thing keeping me awake was the sunlight and a hydroflask full of soda. Halfway through the song I have this guy come in and say “I DON’T FUCKING CARE ABOUT THE MELTING POINT OF WAX, I ONLY CARE ABOUT HOW THIS WILL AFFECT LEBRON’S LEGACY” That sentence made me giggle for a few moments
Just found this song from my mythology class its about Icarus , Daedalus son who didnt heed his fathers warning to not fly to close to the sun when escaping Minos and his wings made of wax melted and he fell into the sea and drowned.
here from the Crow Father himself Ph1lza! He played this on stream and I'm INSTANTLY in love

I can't believe it's been 14 years since I first bought this CD.

Were you sitting on the beach 🌴 while listening to thrice when you wrote this haha😎👍
That's how I feel about it too... But I say like water instead :p
18 now. Getting old is great ain't it? Ha!
Ph1LzA send's his Crow's !
This record was my introduction to Thrice, so it holds a special place in my heart, but honestly all their records are awesome in their own way.
Immensely underrated
Dimitris Vasileias I could not agree more.
I absolutely LOVE this song brother!!
Oh, fellow Greek if I got that right (from the older reply)? Nice :p

What podcast?

Okay thank you
Seems like I'm on the same journey through the musical tastes of Greek mythologists 😅
i came here from the same podcast haha
Every song on this album is excellent but the lyrics for this particular one are legendary.
The whole album is great
One of the best albums ever. And proud that Dustin has faith.

Songwriting at its very best
There’s too much fucking brilliance in this song.
I whoop wholesale ass as Kid Icarus on Smash when I listen to this.
Hopefully my daughter likes this kind of music because that would be awesome to pass Thrice on to her
I do a few acoustic covers for my kids and they love singing along but the heavier versions they go apeshit for.
I wanna give a shout out to Lee Richardson for introducing me to Thrice all those years ago
Saw bring me the horizon on the dtr tour I'm a grandma of 3 and well it wasn't bad 😃
I’m there man, 2024!!
This was the first album I stole from FYE back in the day. Good times amazing album.

So damn good.
The lyrics tell the story of Icarus.
Then they did the other perspectives from his father in Thrice - Daedalus
Duh.
