There's not much that holds my interest in games for long these days, but I recently decided to have a play of Half Life 2 for the first time in... I don't know how long... And seriously, after all these years, it still blew me away and I'm absolutely hooked all over again. This is a 20 year old game that still impresses today, it's The Godfather of games, or maybe The Godfather Part II of games. It really is a masterpiece that has stood the test of time like no other game.
great vid, half life 2 for me is one of the most replayable games because of how much great scenes it has. i actually enjoyed it more playing it the second time around since i got stuck less because i knew where to go.
I'll certainly be reviewing the Last of Us on the channel at somepoint, as for the Witcher 3, it's definitely on the list, just gotta finish the second game. Thanks for the comments and feedback by the way!
Personally I disagree. This game has great moments like nova prospekt and ravenholm which are masterpieces but then sections like highway 17 and route kanal are boring and go on far too long. The guns feel unsatisfying and have no weight. I love the music and gravity gun. The characters just suck except for Alyx and even then she's just ok. I think its a 7/10
Fair enough, while I disagree that the guns don't have any weight (particularly the crossbow, that thing is super satisfying to get kills with) and I think most of the characters are good (Alyx is probably the best one though). I like Highway 17 personally, but I do agree that the Route Kanal drags on for a bit too long
I disagree. Having played all Half life games. I feel its not even close to being "Masterpiece". The reason is people like you overating it. Its mediocre at best. In its era it wasnt that good aswell. Halo 2 is a way better game than half life 2 in most ways except graphics.
You're the type who likes to speak to the contrary just to seem smarter. It's easy to see that when the game has won all possible awards, including Game of the Decade, and is acclaimed by all developers, specialized critics, and players. But Spzz33 is supposedly smarter than everyone and thinks Half Life 2 is mediocre.
You all make it sound like its a flawless game that changed gaming in some groundbreaking way by adding shitty physics that are annoyingly broken. Youll ask me for examples: Getting stuck in between props and getting instantly killed by the force created cause valve with their amazing game design made these fuck ups all over the game. Then theres the shitty tunnel section with acid where the props jigle like crazy and throw you off so the best way to beat it is just spamming jump and taking the damage. And theres literaly no story about gman hes just there to say ominous stuff and thats his entire role. Talking about story there is none like omg alliens are here go kill them. Now the actuall gameplay the fucking ammount of unexplained keybinds like right button to drop grenade is crazy and that discusting weapon selection like why Valve its horrible and Valve even fixed it for Xbox but they didnt change it to that one cause fuck you the player. More bad game design!!!!!! The striders those fuckers apsolutely suck like man if this is your pinacle of game design thats sad shoot rocket reload shoot rocket reload get more from box and thats over and over and over. plus that are with a strider in the citadel just sucks and best way to beat is to rush it. The games highest praise of it being example of game design is bullshit. And are the praised sections any good like the bridge? Fuck no there is literaly no gameplay on the bridge just walking over a bridge wow Masterpiece 10/10 no flaws at all. And the worst part of the game the fucking headcrabs this shit legit the worst there is no reason to make such an annoying type of an enemy that doesnt instantly die from a gunshot and there are the spammy shotguners that instantly when they even see a glimpse gun you down. And there are shitty levels with the vehicles the controls suck airboat section atleast had a banger ending. Thats not the only boring part of the game the Wave defence sections in Entanglment are just boring filler. Also the sections that break the pace of Water Hazard or Soft lock indusing health system there are also the unskipable levels with 8 minutes of exposition. Its a slugish, overrated, buggy and mediocre game never having anything special to it than some generic shooter like call of duty. Atleast call of duty doesnt make me wanna sleep. There are way better games of its era.

As someone who put a lot of time on Half-Life 2 and loves to break the game , I can clearly say it's the best videogame I've ever played
