death is extremely difficult to come out of my cousin died 2 years ago and she was about 17 she died in a serious car accident... it took me 4 years to overcome the pain... I think about her every day... I'll see her again someday though... I cry every time I listen to this song...
I'm sorry for your lost my friend. My best friend was who I've known for over 20 years was murdered a week after I buried my grandmother who died on Mother's Day. So yeah I do understand how much pain death can bring. Idk if I'm over my pain or not, as it's still there. But I do share your pain when it comes to losing someone close to you.

Bonnie Lee died at three years old because of an unidentified disease, in 1987. Amy was 6 back then. Thumbs up so people can see what really is important, not useless fake coments with kids that are "going to suicide". At least Bonnie is real, and so is Amy's pain. Rest in Peace Bonnie! :(

My sister passed away 5-15-11...she was only 19....no one knew she was sick...we played Evanescence's "My Immortal" at her funeral....today is the first day I heard this song..and it hit me hard.....I just recently got a tattoo of her name and have been thinking about my big sister a lot, and how she is missing her daughter grow up to be a beautiful child....I miss you Alyssa....I love you more than life itself..I just wish I could have shown you more often....

I think this song is Amy Lee at her finest, vocals wise anyway. There is a very distinct feeling of a precipice, a big crescendo that leads to the big "fall" or climax (depends which of my metaphors you chose :P ) at ~3:03. Loved it.
To be honest, Evanescence isn't really my type of rock band, but Amy Lee is just amazing.

I lost my older sister with no choice but to live with it. I remember years ago Amy didn't want people to know her sisters name now everyone knows how she died. The illness is identified she just doesn't want people to know about her.
