Hello! Why is the bottom of the health bar the top and the top the bottom? Thanks for these tutorials, they're the best!

Can you explain why the controller is named as such?

Thanks for the question. The controller objects purpose is to control the progress of the game (changing levels and displaying win/ lose screens) and to keep a record of scores and lives. I have named the controller object this way as it just seems logical to me to reference it in this way. However, you can name the controller object anything you want. There is no requirement to follow my naming conventions. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching my videos and I hope they have helped.

I am creating a shooter style game inside of GameMaker LTS and I am wondering how to create the scoreboard / points when an enemy dies. Any pointers?

Thanks for watching my content. If you could give me a bit more detail as to what you are after. The scoring system is covered in the series. What do you need if it’s not in the video.

@@newporthighict correct me if I am wrong but this is more of a collision based score system. I am thinking when an enemy dies it applies the score. I was able to get the score: total showing at the top but not actually have it increased.

All enemy deaths would be based around collision events. The points are not allocated on the collision, they are allocated when the enemy is removed from the room. You could also use a counter for hits and destroy the enemy after 3 or 4 hits for example.
