- This video demonstrates how to use/take advantage of Combo Cancel and the benefits in doing so. More information can be found on [godeater.wikia....].
Combo Cancel is a technique that allows you to skip combo stages and use combo devour earlier than normal. The benefit is it allows you to quickly peform a devour without charging or finishing the end of your combo. To execute this technique, simply follow these steps:
1.) Perform a melee attack and wait for the back swing animation.
2.) During the back swing animation, press the step button equal to the number of attack steps you want to skip (Short=3, Long=2, Buster=1).
3.) Perform a combo devour (R+Triangle). You can even set the direction you want to use by pressing the appropriate directional button.
This technique requires the step button to be set as a non-combination button press for it to work so control configuration Type B users will not be able to use this technique (since Step is configured at R+Circle). Each attack has a different back swing time, the longer the back swing time the easier it is to execute this technique. Lots of practice is required to use this technique.
EDIT NOTE: You can also use this technique in conjunction to Charge Crush Combo, allowing you to perform a Charge Crush and then immediately connecting it to a combo devour without the need to execute the second melee attack. Refer to my videos for more information on Charge Crush Combo.
Combo Cancel was demonstrated during these times: 0:28, 0:52, 1:24, 2:34, 2:55, 3:50, 4:04 & 4:14-4:20
Other techniques shown in this video are the following:
Step Cancel Spam = 0:06 & 2:58
Knockback + Stagger Mechanism = When firing radial bullet,
Rolling Fire = 1:21, 1:59, 2:02, 2:05, 3:20, 3:22, 3:27, 3:29 & 3:32

S - deco shot short range (D60)
on impact 1 - S - deco shot short range (U15)
0.2 after 2 -- M - Control short duration face enemy (U90)
0.2 after 3 --- S - Deco Shot omni homing
on impatct 4 ---- S - Shot omni homing / normal shot if you want for cheaper OP cost

For GEB, Buster and Short are equally good as long as you use it against the right aragami. Long is slightly less loved in GEB English version sadly.
So What Weapon type r u used to?

I can use all of them but lean towards buster and short for this game depending on what Im up against.

Would you care to shed a bit of insight on how slim of a timeframe you have to press the step button? I'm trying to do this with the long sword, but the only thing that comes from it is either a dodge, or a heavy attack.
3 years since it was released, almost never performed the combo.
Your a gunner..... I hate using guns and even shields they make missions too easy, all I need is my trusty iron maiden ex.... I particularly love fighting dyuus pita and the deusphages ......

Rayzen Jaron Daming There are instructions in the video description. If its still unclear, you can search youtube on combo cancel and there are videos out there showing the buttons to press and the timing.

Rayzen Jaron Daming Its the animation after the normal attack hits. If youre familiar with dash and guard cancelling after normal attacks, the animation you can cancel with these moves is called the backswing animation.

Wow!! bravo, !! your skillful, but i have more techniques on any type of aragami, techniques of what shield or blade and gun to be more effective, man!! i wish i could get a chance to multiplayer with someone. someone like you, you defeated those type of Chi-You's with a knife and a Kongou Cannon and i notice that you just dodge them, your not using your shield , me too i don't use it often only on emergencies. But for me i will use a crushing type blade or buster Claymore and a Falcon gun, and an oval shield, you can easily crush it's wing's and defeat it faster with a buster type blade like claymore or hammer, but it's to risky because each attack of a buster blade is slow so you won't really dodge all attacks, you got a perfect health which is impressive, i don't know if you can multiplayer online, but if there is a chance , let's play, i think the maximum players are four on a mission.

I can use any type of sword and gun effectively.... Shields are overrated.... I dodge 98% of the attacks rather than block
My favorite weapon is shark blade x( buster) and iron maiden ex( short) though
I Dodge mostly too, I barely use my shield, I just use it when I can't really get out of a certain situation though, I use short blades too, and with the evasive buckler with it, I just feel much more better with it tbh.
Evasive buckler gives Calm Breather, Athlete, Step Dist↑ idk about knockback↑ though but it's my get go for dodging stuff, also for its defense don't expect much from it tho lol.

TRONerz24 t either Type A or C should work. There are also other videos on how to execute this technique and some of them showed the hands. It would be best if you search for it if your still grasping the timing

there is no combo canceling. looks like just a gunner
Did you read the desc? The combo cancel is when she did a combo devour after a single slash from the short sword. In Burst, your normally only able to use a combo devour in place of the last hit of your combo (so for short swords, you'd have to swing 4 times before devouring), but this tech removes that limitation.
Although in Resurrection (and Rage Burst probably, but I don't have it so idk), no tech is needed; combo devours can be used at any point in a combo by default.
