The Bolero Neo is based on Mahindra's third-generation platform that's shared with the Scorpio and Thar. It measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,817 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm and a laden ground clearance of 160 mm. Unlike its exteriors, there are no design traits on the inside that resembles the Bolero, which isn’t a bad thing.
The 100-bhp motor sends out power to the rear wheels and it is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission surely feels more punchy and powerful than the 76-bhp oil burner on regular Bolero.
    .
Mahindra Bolero NEO also gets first-in-segment Multi-Terrain Technology which is also known as MLD ( Mechanical Locking Differential ). It is cleared by the name the Locking differentials can lock the axles together to provide 100% of available torque to the wheel with traction. During turns, a locking differential operates like an open differential - the wheels can rotate at different speeds. However, when traction is needed, the axles can be mechanically locked together forcing the wheels to rotate at the same speed. This is especially helpful in off-roading situations when one wheel is off the ground or on an otherwise very low traction surface. When locked, the wheel in the air doesn’t receive any torque because there is no traction and the wheel on the ground receives all the torque, allowing the vehicle to move.

The Bolero Neo does not have any direct rivals in its segment, but at this price range, it competes with other monocoque compact SUVs( A monocoque is a shell around the car made by using both chassis as the frame in a single construction). Bolero Neo are both sub-4m SUVs on ladder-frame chassis with longitudinal engines and RWD, there are some differences that start from the chassis
