What do you think? Which prototype will be tested first at this new stand, Ship 26 or Ship 31?
They're using Ship 26 to test the new facilities, why risk a new Starship and possibly damaging it, when you have an already tested, obsolete model that'll be scrapped anyhow?
"There are more starships on the road than cars." LOL
Ship 26, or maybe not. Elon time rules!
10:47 Someone used the wrong image there! Those dates are for December 2023.
hi, there is a typo on the second road closures. december instead of may. caut me of guard....
Cracked me up with the 7 of 9 joke! Well played 😂
Yes it was…………
yes, i wonder how many will still now where she´s from though
@@TheFlow2006 we know, that must be enough ;)
I don't get the joke; Can someone explain, please ? 🙂🙏✌
10:50 in video, graphic appears to reference items in Dec 2023
Oops! Your road closure graphic said DECEMBER instead of May. :-)
It also says 2023 instead of 2024, haha
So What Dude Chill !
@lanav9679 I was just letting them know, in case no one had yet. I had not seen other comments when I added my comment. I even put a smiley face and said 'oops' as a playful way of bringing it to their attention. Your comment, on the other hand, is totally displaying an unpleasant attitude. I would offer the same advice back to you. Cheers.
At 10:45. The "13" was in focus, therfore don't worry about year and month 🙂
Just keeping up on our toes. Now if had been a metric versus imperial units blunder....
It’s amazing that Spacex can build stuff almost faster than the top space news channels can report on it. What an amazing company. What an amazing workforce. It’s incredible that none of this would be happening but for the ambition of one man, Elon Musk.

Go Baby Go. Fly me to the moon. Let me play amongst the stars. Let me see what weathers like on Jupiter and Mars
Cuba😂
YEs, its when work more than talking
Can you imagine how cool it would be if they launched two starships at the same time.
We'll see the day that it really happens!
I wonder how the shockwaves would interact…
minutes or hours apart perhaps but simultaneously?
@@mochachaiguy Now instead of the watching flying concrete blocks, you will see levitating rocks between the powerful resonance waves.
@@MatsCooper I know its not likely any time soon, i'm just dreaming lol.
Silly Felix, Vulcan's only raise ONE eyebrow ;)
😂True.
„Seven (out) of Nine“ Segments! - Haha! 😂 Made my day! Long live Jeri Ryan!
One day I want to see Felix live from space in a Starship or even from the moon or Mars! With help from starlink, live could be possible from space!
Now your talking. It would be great to see Felix to a broadcast from space!
I think Tim Dodd (The everyday astronaut) will be the first UA-camr to do that as he already has his Starship flight booked.
“Felix and family, live from Luna 1, continuing our report on our first Starship trip!”
"7 of 9 segments" LOL
Ayyy the 7 of 9 joke! He is a true Trekkie
Great video. Btw the slide at 10:47 says "December 14" not "May 14". This is probably a mistake as the audio says May and gven the current date.
Also 2023 instead of 24

just so you know, youtubers do this shit on purpose to generate comments since comments are a big part of the youtube game.
Great episode, Felix!! You crack me up AND educate me at the same time 👍🏽
It's my pleasure! The only problem is that SpaceX needs to slow down so that we can report on everything! This is crazy! :O
I watch all your videos as well as others, and I cannot keep track of all this lightning speed progress OMG!! 👏🏻
i don't expect things to really get going until SpaceX succeeds in not only catching the Booster and Ship with the arms but also turning that Booster and Ship around and launching them successfully and doing that at least a couple of times. I do expect we WILL see Booster and Starship flying as often as Falcon 9 does today. After all it took a few years and launches to get from Falcon 1 to Falcon 9.
I suspect that the "bottle neck" in rapid turn around will ultimately be the rate of tanker trucks filling the "tank farm". However, for the near term, SpaceX will be upgrading the launchpad in every interval between launches, causing most delays.
The day will come when we will see Starships lunching multiple times per *day.*
You keep me caught up and excited about the progress! Thank you!
Looking forward to this next launch, hopefully we get to see a water landing.
captivating episode ty:)
Almost 500,000 go WAI
Building Starship and a booster, testing it and getting into orbit is just half the work to be done. Designing and testing the interior for human use and survival will take just as long. This was a great video Felix, full of information, thanks and good job!
They are, of course, already working on that under the HLS contract.
Typo: you showed Road closures for December, not May.
I’ve been a looooong time subscriber and not a video has gone by where I don’t smile 😁. Keep up your awesome work guys!
YOU ROCK ❤
What a epic episode 🤩.
Love the jokes, awesome photos a really mind-blowing animation's. Y'all Rock so much ❤️
Thnk you so much! It's a pleasure!
Oh, boy! Maritime platforms. Fuel from the atmosphere, power from the sun. The sea as a condenser... It's such a fantastic picture.
Finally, Sea Dragon!
The most amazing part is the flying grain silo survived long enough to be repurposed into a storage tank that is still used to this day!
Booster droneship names "CATCHEDIAN RHAPSODY" "GOTTA CATCH ´EM ALL" "CATCHA LA VISTA BABY"
I AM BEYOND EXCITED ! 18 MONTHS WE WILL BE ON THE MOON WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL SHIP AND COOL SPACE SUITS !
The suits are only for limited use space walking.
@TheMoneypresident
I'm sure spacex has quietly 🤫 been working on that...
Makes me wonder what all is under way incognito.

Excellent stuff bro
Congrats on 365 episodes! Watching an episode a day, it would take a year to get caught up - that's a lot of content!
Great show
Thank you!
Outstanding
WHAT ABOUT IT!
Best source everything starship ❤️
Thank you!!!
Can’t wait for the time where they start catching and restacking then launching again for the first time that will be exciting
I cannot lie, I jump in joy whenever Felix releases a new vid! I love seeing some starship news!
04:20 Hey, Felix. you forgot to mention Hoppy - first to fly!
I wonder if Space-X will ever build rails to move starships and boosters around the site? I think the SPMT's are great, but I wonder if it would be more efficient to use dedicated rails once they really ramp up production.
I think it’s almost more likely that he’d make the SPMT’s self-driving first.
There may not be enough property to build a rail system. There are State Park and Federal Wildlife Preserve right beside the road.
Thank you :)
good to see florida starship is coming back
That new starship was was is Stunly beautiful
Love yr show - always good updates ! But hold on, what is the launch date for 4th flight ? Nothing else matters !
The December 2023 road closers got me chuckling.
There was a time that The EPA and FTC were dragging there feet so bad that I thought the water launches from international water would be the only option.
This might be dumb, but I think spacex should build a road from masseys to starbase. It would be very conventional.❤
7 of 9 lol... you guys at WAI are great
GOOD LUCK
Thanks!
❤️🙏
@felix , hi felix always love your work. ✨
Thank you very much👋👋👋👋Brasil, estado minas gerais, city belo horizonte👋👋👋
Interesting way to spell MAY ;)
You rock
Hey Felix if you and your team are struggling to compress all this info into a 20ish minute video I’m sure that most fans wouldn’t mind longer episode lengths during these busy weeks. Helps keep the quality up and helps to inform even better. 😊
Good video as usual. At around 10 minutes and 45 seconds you announce the road closures forMay. You listed December, just a heads up
You where mentioning the closure dates for transporting the tower sections but you went from 13 directly to 15 .... 14 may is also in the list you show us.. By the way very good editing work 😊
7 of 9!! ❤ Jerry Ryan! Haha love it. That's my girl BTW. 😂
Good to see that SpaceX is finally going install a catch tower for the Super Heavy. It should have been part of the initial plan to begin with. It can only save time, money. improve efficiency and minimize ancillary damage. They will no doubt catch the second stage as well. As to the drone ship, I suspect it will be an alternative for use at Boca Chica as well. That should be a landing worth seeing - a 20+ story building.
The initial plan was landing legs. Catching as a concept hadn't occurred yet.
@@Scanner9631 - Well, of course that was the initial plan but once they decided on a catch tower there was no mention of a landing tower.
@@rocroc but once they decided on a catch tower there was no mention of a landing tower.
When was there ever mention of a landing tower that wasn't a catch tower? What would a "landing tower" actually do?
Actually, all this talk of "catch-only" is just speculation and social media echo chamber effects.
The only comment SpaceX has made is that they are building a complete second orbital launch complex.
@@Scanner9631 - Think about it or read one of my earlier comments. I think I mentioned a couple when I wrote the comment on which this discussion was made. They are significant.
Love the Star trek reference ... 7 of 9 Xd
Felix at 10:50 public notice you put is from December 14th hah
Sucks waiting till June but
We are still waiting on SpaceX to finish and turn in their flight 3 report. So clearly the FAA can't approve anything until SpaceX has done that.
🙌
Booster!
Can't wait for the next test. We NEED fiery balls of fire !
5:18 I don’t think it’s gonna be more challenging because I think there’s gonna be testing every day at the pace that they want to set
Will be visiting starbase June 17ish hopefully there will be a small delay. Either way just would like to see it!
What? No mention of the Electrical malfunction on the booster? Color me Surprised!
Script was made before that incident
Was too close to recording. An episode is in editing for roughly 2 days with the content locked down. Next Episode!
@@Whataboutit I'm looking forward to seeing it! Thank you for replying.
Great video Felix! Hope you're enjoying the Whataburgers and the Bill Millers Fried Chicken and the Jalisco Mexican Restaurants. Lucky you are down there near Delia's Tamales too! I dare you to show how to eat a tamale ! They sort of look like booster rockets; No? LOL !
Waiting for flight 4
Wow!
I think as space activities ramp up, this week will have seemed easy.
Having a catch barge for booster would make so much sense. The reduced risk to infrastructure, as well as the reduced delta-v requirements would pay off quite rapidly. Every ton of fuel not needed for the return is another ton in orbit or that much higher an orbit.
Slows down potential turn around for another flight. Takes time to bring that barge and rocket home and get the barge out for another landing.
@@Scanner9631 Yep, turnaround time for drone ships seems to be the biggest limitation on Falcon flight cadence these days
Propellant is cheap. There is no good reason to minimize propellant consumption due to cost. Rather *_propellant mass_* is a huge issue, but mostly for the second stage, not so much for the first stage.
@@imconsequetau5275 Every bit of velocity imparted to the second stage by the first is that much more mass that can be put into orbit, sent to the moon, etc. If you recover the booster on a ballistic trajectory, the fuel that you would use to return to the launch pad can instead be used during the initial burn. Yes, the fuel itself is cheap, but it's a limited resource you need to manage during a launch. Having a barge out at the LZ of said ballistic launch means you can recover a booster that would otherwise be destroyed.
@@kstricl
If payloads suddenly exceed RTLS capacity, then downrange landing platforms makes sense, especially if too many boosters would otherwise be sunk. Customers may not want to pay for expendables. But there is a great advantage if you can get the booster back for the next launch within minutes instead of days. The SpaceX "rapidly reusable" way would normally be to just slap on more engines to Starship and stretch the tanks.
This cannot be rapidly done for any version that is rated for crew, so there might need to be _version forks._
Clearly a catch only tower could be converted to a regular launch tower once they are confident - would be the smart way to go.
With sooo much MOVEMENT... they need dedicated gantry crane trains... oh but that would be TOO EFFICIENT🤯🤯🤯
One tower will be for launch, long arms, other to catch, short arms
I strongly suspect that they will need to weld 2 or 3 semisubmersible platforms together, to get the needed deck area for offshore launches / landings.
I predict that dedicated catch towers will be useful for at least 3 years from now, to mitigate risk, help launch cadence and to make it easier to work on things like the the QD et al.
I fully agree Elan needs to go offshore and ferry starships with ship to launch offshore

Sorry, you posted an old table of road closures at 10:46 😆😉
Please Stand By For a Massive Text Dump
My thoughts on how to test the catching capabilities of the tower would be:
1) Remove the hot staging ring from a booster and put an aerodynamic cap on top of it instead.
2) Launch just the booster with a limited fuel load & maybe pressurize the fuel tanks using nitrogen.
3) Try landing the booster just offshore from StarBase, still inside US territorial waters, using the virtual tower method until they get that right.
4) After the Virtual Tower landings are working correctly, then launch just the booster again with limited fuel to start testing the catching maneuver with the real tower.
The same steps 2-4 can be done with the upper stage.
There is no reason that full orbit testing can not be done at the same time as this would allow full orbit testing of all functions of the upper stage including re-entry heat resistance, but flying the limited fuel tests 'should' be possible in-between the orbit launches, therefore getting more landing testing done.
The booster does not have to go as high as the upper stage does during testing because it does not need to do the horizontal maneuver like the upper stage does.
Less height required, less fuel required.
And not all the Booster engines would be needed, just use static weights in place of a real engine for proper weight during landing.
I mean, how long does it take to build a booster for a limited fuel testing of first the virtual tower landing and than the landing tests using a real tower?
SpaceX already is planing to build additional towers at StarBase, so use multiple towers to do multiple flights in a day.
Until landing tests are being done with real towers, I would think each tower could launch at least one test a day, if not more, unless a tower get damaged during a launch.
SpaceX's Company Motto should be:
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
They will need a catch only tower for a couple of years. Only need to miss the mark once to realize that would have been a good idea.
How are the tiles even made? Seems to me they would have more luck keeping them attached if they were about 10x the size (and curved)
checking flight 4 and 5 simultaneously... are they planning to launch them back to back basically? Withing days.
Tell me how they are going to mount the fower sections when there no foundation yet.
Almost a panicked rush
The information we really want to know is at what stage the disintegration of booster and starship will be declared an outstanding success.
Looks like launches from the 2nd orbital pad will over fly pad 1 and its orbital tank farm. Isn't that a problem?
what about a test to see if the new vents don't freeze over like last time. maybe they have added heaters to the vent orifice.
Bientôt à nouveau, le sombrero sur la tête de Félix !🤠🤠🤠 hieoouh!
I love what Space X is doing for the next flight, however, no one gives a crap about the new Star Factory!! The biggest and most updated "Tool" that Space X has built and no one has invested any time trying to see inside or updating us on the progress going made. I think this is something worth digging into. I'm sure nothing is too secretive going on inside. It would be cool to see a clip or two of the progress each week considering the importance of it! Just an idea.
I'd like to see the next landing barge be called "Live long and prosper".
I got noti’s on
I’m hoping it’s a bit delayed as I’m busing family in Florida at the end of the Month, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A ROCKET LAUNCH THAT WOULD BE SO COOL
Im going to Florida at the end of June hoping to see a launch where is the best place to watch as a tourist?
A1A half way across the indian river or at Jetty Park!
I wonder if they would ever build a booster and or upper stage at Starbase then launch it just high enough for the trip over to Florida so it could land there and be prepped for its mission.
It would save having two full scale production sites??
