The forerunners of the American cowboy were the Mexicans who raised cattle in the area of present-day Texas, since its introduction in the 16th century, with the arrival of the Spanish. The domesticated animals were the specimens known as longhorns (named for their elongated horns), which roamed in a semi-wild state. The first Texan settlers started the open ranch system known as haciendas. The main economic activity was the raising of cattle that provided fat to make candles and also leather; agriculture was also of importance. Also, the gear appeared to be used by the new American colonizers. In California there were also skilled men on horseback, according to Richard Henry Dana, who wrote a book about that region in 1840 when it still belonged to Mexico. He as he describes: When they go on long days, they ride one horse until they tire it and grab another, throw the saddle and bridle on it, and after exhausting the animal, they take a third, and so on until the end of the trip. There are no better riders in the world.
Únicamente un comentario, siempre a la hora de entrenar un caballo para cualquier disciplina,el maestro es el caballo y siempre lo sera,el es el que te pone a prueba
I think after the horse took the first spill he hurt his left leg. Cause when he passes in front you can see the left leg he's keeping extended but the right he's bending it looks hurt the gait is different. I could be wrong just looks it to me
Wow, too bad for the little slide out on the circle pattern. This horse really wants to do well for its rider. Beautiful animal, great pattern ride for its rider. Very well trained.
Everything about Reining is so refined and fluid; all but the turnaround. The turnarounds always look like garbage! Is it that hard to get the horse to do a fluid 180°.
This is incredible!! Not saying this is abuse but as an English rider I can’t imagine being able to do any of this on my horse! I feel slightly bad for the horses legs on the sliding stop but then again I don’t know a lot about western riding so. Well ridden
See the Mexican Charrería, si much better and cleaner, that trikcs but on a level up..... Yo soy Mexicano la suerte Charra no tiene comparación, es un deporte protegido ante la UNESCO
Maybe. Mexicans abuse their horses to get them to perform. Tying horses with their heads up for HOURS with chains and guard dogs in the yards is not horsemanship.
Pour avoir fait du classique et du western (reining aussi) je te garantis que les chevaux sont bien traite =) un cheval de CSO force beaucoup sur ces appuis avant alors qu
Not being horrible about Westen riders but the spinning and gallop to halt are just so mean to the hose hopefully he got a massive treat

Adrian Monk these horses are bred to do these maneuvers. The sliding stop is not "mean"; it's actually easier on a horse than how most people ride horses to a stop because the horse's shoulders must be lifted by rider in order for it to be executed correctly. 80% of the horse's weight is on its front end. Most riders (people who think they know how and don't) impede the horse. The sliding stop is impossible if the rider is on a horse's front end. The sliding stop also engages the horse's back, i.e. the horse lifts its back; which by the way makes the horse stronger and in turn lengthens the life of the horse. This event is called REINING and is closely tied to Working Cow Horse. Cowboys use these maneuvers and skills everyday while working cattle. Instead of being negative and thinking that you know everything I would suggest you study the subject before you comment. It might save you from sounding like an idiot
What a complete narcissist animal abuser, he pushed that horse so hard he nearly collapsed in the corner. Horses will give you their all, and worthless men will take it and leave that animal nearly or completely crippled afterwards. Shame “trainers” like this and the sick competitions they set up for their own egos at the expense of these beautiful animals.

Unfortunately all this stuff is coming to an end with this great reset. You will own nothing and be miserable.
Wow so beautifully done your horse is absolutely gorgeous 🥰
Enjoy this while you can because it is all planned to go.

LMFAO!😂🤣
i agree, it looks so strange and out of place
I say plus 1/2-1 on all maneuvers
Serious question. Why do the turnarounds always look like garbage?

Actually, it originated with the Spanish.
This is not Mexican tradition. It’s related but separate. Everywhere has their own horse traditions.
