Louis Armstrong - I Cover the Waterfront / Dinah / Tiger Rag (Speed-Corrected, 1933)

- From "København, Kalundborg og" (directed by Ludvig Brandstrup, 1933-34)
The synced audio is sourced from the Danish-based label Storyville Records' compilation album "Louis Armstrong in Scandinavia", which is a tad bit clearer than most available versions as you can hear some sounds clearly like the drummer brushing and Armstrong's sibilances. (Headphones required!!!) I assume this must be from Gösta Hägglöf's original recordings as he was credited as a producer of these recordings in the Scandinavia compilation, and that raising the higher frequencies in the optical soundtrack would barely if not, never reveal the less heard instruments like cymbals. The compilation also fades out tracks abruptly, in which I took the liberty of replacing the silence with the muddy soundtrack of an audience cheering for continuity.
The source video was a bit faster than the recorded audio and I had to slow it down to fit the 24 fps constraint.

Thank you for making this new synced version. It basically accounts as a restoration. I'm getting more from these performances than ever before. Armstrong's trumpet playing is so beautiful on I Cover The Waterfront.
”I’m Mr Armstrong” For sure a true introduction of the greatest muscian of the jazz era. A great founder of modern music.
When I started taking my History of Jazz Class in College, I never realized how beautiful these pieces of History can be. Finding a corrected version of this made it even better
great performance Louis Armstrong my favorite jazz musican along with Django reinhardt
One of the best performances ever recorded…
Thank you so much for this exceptional treasure
I listened to this so many times on repeat even overnights with them special headphones my voice now sounds like Louis, unless i consciously try not to. How fd up or awesome is that!? 😂
Absolutely beautiful! I always wondered what the clearer audio would sound like and didn’t even realize it existed
There's been a legion of jazz soloists in the last 100 years........here's Number One.
0:00 I Cover The Waterfront
3:25 Dinah
6:22 Tiger Rag
I love how for when he is introducing I Cover the Waterfront, Armstrong calls the tune 'one of the good old good ones for you', despite I Cover the Waterfront only having been written that same year!
The most essential musician of all time.
Definitely one of the GOATS
Met
Met Luis backstage at a concert in '55 in Indianapolis, Indiana. What a guy. He has been an idle of mine for years. Gene Krupa an Buddy Rich were a part of it........
The best of the best God is great 😁❤🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦🙌🙌🙌🙌
Although Louis A. is from a much earlier era, JaRule the rapper vocals are similar to that of Armstrong's 🎵🥰

A master of music and entertainment!
Thanks for correcting the speed!
Who is the trumpet player? Not Louis Armstrong. The one sitting down behind him.
Charles D. Johnson. Could not find any information on his life or career, unfortunately
