- 2003 Powerstroke Diesel pulling a 2010 Duramax Diesel out of the water/mudd, dont ask why he drove out there but we drove up on him while heading out to a fishing hole, guess the dealer told him it would float when he bought it.....

Well your recall one doesn't make much sense. For has recalled almost double the amount of vehicle's GM has. On the Forbes list for least amount of recalls GM comes in third out of 15 and ford comes in 7th, Chrysler is at 11. Now there's another way you can look at it too, since every vehical manufacturer has had recalls, maybe the ones that have more are trying to look out for the buyer's of their vehicals.

My truck is a 2000 7.3 Ex, 350k, hard life towing trailers, nothing but regular maintanence, even the original 4R100. Couldn't ask for a better truck, and no better feeling than to prove everyone who said it wouldn't last this long that FORDS DO IT RIGHT.
Brands don't matter here, the guy in the Ford was a good operator, that knows his equipment, and did a good job, he could have easily made this situation much, much worse by being and idiot.
Finally someone here who is thinking with more than half their brain. I've always been a ford guy but I absolutely love my Chevy suburban. Any truck can be a good truck if you know what your doing.
You're absolutely right. With the 2003 f250 or 350 he could've used the front tow hooks instead and not have had to go in the mud but it seemed to have worked great.

How in any way is the 6.0 better than the 7.3? Like even Henry ford would admit the 7.3 is a better engine. It doesn't have the faulty manufacturing problems like the 6.0. They blew turbos, oil pans, head gaskets.... Not to say the 7.3 wouldn't, but the design of the 6 isn't good
You get rid of all that factory shit, and it's much better than the 7.3. I've driven my stepdads 2002, with a ZF6 speed, and needless to say if it had a 601 front of it, it would really fly

Jared Consolo There good engines domt get me wrong. But ive seen so many 7.3 make it too past 500k miles. The 6.0 barely makes it to 300k and all around not the work horses like the 7.3s. We had a company ford with the 7.3 i worked out of for 10 years. it reached 700k. And kept goin i quit the company. We bought a 6.0 the engine blew at 245k
Nathan Hardy Yeah I hear ya. If you stud your 6.0 and do new gaskets and the whole 9 yards they're easily 500k engines but yeah I agree 7.3 is a great engine and hands down most reliable and longest lasting from factory.

To the guys asking if it's a 6.0 or 7.3, it's a 7.3. The 6.0's turbo would have been whistling like a 747 jumbo jet. The exhaust on this truck is very diesely and less turboey, so it's without a doubt a 7.3.
I had a 2003 F250 Powerstroke and it was the biggest POS I have ever owned. Every time I turned around something was going wrong with it. Traded it in for a 2011 GMC Sierra Denali 2500, and have had no problems! The Ford was traded in barely running, and it was properly maintained! Maybe I just got a lemon, but the GMC has been a much better truck so far.

You say that cause youve never owned a 6.0, my 03 6.0 has 200k and not one problem, did an EGR delete, 4 inch turbo back exhaust and an SCT tune and the things a beast, pulls like a brand new truck, I cant see myself getting rid of it I love it.
The only reason why he'd say that International is foreign is because the PowerStrokes from the 6.0L to the 6.4L were designed in Austria. However reason why the first 2 years (2003-2004) was because they have always had a lower sulfur content in diesel than we do here in the states.

I'd NEVER take my truck out in the water except for on a boat ramp. You're just asking to get stuck in the mud.
These diesels have sick amounts of torque though. I pulled a suburban 2500 out of a ditch in 4 low up a 15% grade on the snow, with its parking brake on without breaking a sweat. I pulled my other truck (2WD F150) out of a ditch in 4L just idling and not even stepping on the accelerator.
