I am so proud to have grown up with the trilogy. I listened to Princess Leia's theme when she passed, and I am hearing it now. Thank you, Carrie. Congratulations. Ironically close to her mother. Plus, an extra special moment was having her "space twin brother" Mark Hamill in attendance, and his heart warming thoughts. The force is definitely en masse today. Well done, Billie!
I watched the first 3 Star Wars movies when they came out in theater's, and all the Star Wars movies since! I grew up having a massive crush on Carrie Fisher, like so many others did! And I am glad to be able to witness this today May 4th 2023! Billie's dress and speech were perfect! And how awesome Mark Hammil was able to attend! And let's not forget the Droid's R2 and C3PO! R.I.P. Carrie Fisher.🌹
I had the good fortune of being able to attend the Carrie Fisher Tribute at Star Wars Celebration's 40th Anniversary panel in Orlando in 2017, where George Lucas and Billie Lourd gave very moving and touching speeches, and John Williams performed Princess Leia's theme with the Orlando Philharmonic... I also attended Mark Hamill's panel as well, where he spoke fondly about Carrie... Both were very moving events... There wasn't a dry eye in the house... I will never forget it... Watching this Walk of Fame ceremony bought back all of those bitter-sweet memories... This event was just as touching! It's about time that this Star Wars" Star" got a Hollywood Walk of Fame "Star"... Well deserved! I also had the good fortune to see Carrie on stage at SW Celebration in 2012... She was HILARIOUS! One of the happiest moments of my life as a Star Wars fan... We miss you, Carrie... I'd jump into a trash compactor with you anytime... You have been my Princess since 1977... You will be our Princess forever... May the Force be with you... Always. Now, please be a good "Force Ghost", find a log, and have a good "sit-down chat" with your daughter! Remember when Carrie once said to that "contemptible pig", Jake Blues... "You betrayed me! So, for me... For my mother, my grandmother, my father, my uncle, and for the common good... I must now kill you and your brother." Let's hope that this movie dialogue doesn't extend to Billie's feelings about Joely, Tricia, and Todd! All joking aside... I don't know who's right and who's wrong... but it's time to heal these old wounds... I don't think that Carrie or Debbie would have wanted this... And besides... It's not the Jedi way! What a charming daughter Carrie raised! She is funny, pretty, bright, gracious, a real delight! I saw the movie that will always be “the first Star Wars” for me in the theater on what was then “the big screen.” A friend and i had gone to KC from our nearby college to window shop and had picked up some Kentucky Fried for dinner. As she pulled into the theater parking lot, i said, “Oh! Are we going to a movie? Which one are we going to see?” “Star Wars,” she said. After a decade of depressing, agonized and violent anti war movies, my reaction was, “oh no please. I don’t want to see a war movie.” she says, “No. Trust me. This one is different.” Well. Boy was it! As soon as i saw that ship coming out of the top of the screen to John Wms score I was ALL IN. No one who saw those movies on tv or video can ever understand the effect that it had on all of us who saw it for the first time when it first came out. We were clapping and cheering and gasping, and not breathing like little kids! And Carrie and Mark and Harrison will ALWAYS be part of that and beloved because they gave that to us. This brought tears of memory and affection to my eyes. Thanks! Our princess will live forever although dear Carrie has gone.
I'm glad I met Carrie Fisher at the Sci-Fi Expo in Plano, TX back in 2002. She is the original Princess Leia. RIP. She died 5 months after Kenny Baker same year.
Billie, you have clearly inherited your mother's passion for life and her writing talent in that amazing speech. You and Mark brought the sunshine. This was nothing short of outstanding!
Wow, Billy Lourd really has it. What a poise. Nice ceremony, but should have been a lot sooner. I couldn't believe our Beloved Carrie Fisher still didn't have a star. #Maythe4thbewithyou
So Cool! Will always love and respect CF as an actress writer and overall a great person who overcame her demons as best she could have. Her wit and honesty was a godsend that cut through the BS that many of us have to deal with on a daily basis. Anyone who caught her Wishful drinking theatre show will always appreciate her humor. I could go on but as a SW fan she was more then just a Hollywood actress!( Surrender the Pink funny book!!!) Yeah it royally sucks that she's gone but what a lovely way to honor her spirit! May the 4th be with all the Fans today. It's so easy to laugh so easy to hate-It takes Strength to be gentle and Kind. The Smiths.
About time she got one! I had read she was supposed to have gotten it last year. Glad Mark was there. BUT, Todd & her 2 half sisters SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE!
I just want to write that my name is Josh and i want to write that i'm so happy that Carrie Fisher is finally getting her official star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today on May 4, 2023 on Star Wars Day.
Her brother and sisters should've been there. They were left out on purpose. Not sure by who or why but Carrie would've wanted them there no matter what because she loved them, too. Especially since her brother was the one who put the application in for her to get a star! Shameful.
It’s very sad not to see the rest of the family there to share in this moment. Carrie Fisher is part of old Hollywood and by not including her siblings, you don’t get to see how significant her contribution was. This moment really just became a Disney moment. Very disappointing.

We lost our princess. 😢
Today (Star Wars Day) was the perfect day to immortalize her with her star.
Thank you for sharing this. She deserves everything we didn't give her in life.
Aww that's nice. I'm glad she finally got her star.
Congratulations, General Leia Organa-Solo!
Congratulations Carrie Fisher!
You’re loved and missed!!

Billie, you have clearly inherited your mother's passion for life and her writing talent in that amazing speech. You and Mark brought the sunshine. This was nothing short of outstanding!
Carrie was smiling down today on the ceremony
@@davidjensen4702 totally agree!
I loved Billie's speech. ❤❤❤
I did too
What absolute beautiful woman Billie Lourd is. SHE is her mothers daughter, STRONG, CONFIDENT, SMART, FUNNY, BEAUTIFUL and CHARMING. WOW....just WOW!
Wow, Billy Lourd really has it. What a poise.
Nice ceremony, but should have been a lot sooner. I couldn't believe our Beloved Carrie Fisher still didn't have a star.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
About time she got one! I had read she was supposed to have gotten it last year. Glad Mark was there. BUT, Todd & her 2 half sisters SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE!
💚💚💚
My heart breaks knowing that she not around anymore
well deserved if not a little too late
I just want to write that my name is Josh and i want to write that i'm so happy that Carrie Fisher is finally getting her official star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today on May 4, 2023 on Star Wars Day.
I don't know who kept telling them to step on the star but I'm glad they didn't.
Is that the Original CP3O (not the actor just the suite) & R2 D2 ?
😭😭😭😭😭😭🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
"There'll be no Escape for the princess this time..." 😥
Her brother and sisters should've been there. They were left out on purpose. Not sure by who or why but Carrie would've wanted them there no matter what because she loved them, too. Especially since her brother was the one who put the application in for her to get a star!
Shameful.
I've seen they are tearing out some of the older Stars this week with jackhammers! Any idea why? Seems sad and brutal- kind of like Hollywood I guess.

It was Billie that chose not to have them there. She's the one that made that call, not anyone else.
Todd should’ve been there 😢😢😢
Billie did not invite him or anyone else from the family.
Dear princess, you have always been a part of my life! 🫶
ஜ ♥ Simply the best
