Thanks for visiting El Reno. You can spend HOURS at the Canadian County Historical Museum in town, ride the only rail-based trolley in the state, and then stop by as you're on the west side of town on Route 66 to see our five unique memorials at our football stadium (right along Route 66) honoring the 105 El Reno Public Schools students who died in military service. Gold Star Plaza, as it's called, features not only their names, but also has their stories and faces laser-engraved into the monuments, along with images of the kinds of planes, ships, and other military equipment they used or lost their lives in.

Definitely a nice video for those looking to travel down Route 66 and see what there is to see. Next time you're in El Reno, I'd definitely suggest checking out the Twistex memorial site a few miles South of town near the airport. It's dedicated to Tim Samaras and seven others who died in the El Reno tornado in May of 2013, which was one of the largest tornadoes ever recorded and likely had some of the fastest wind speeds ever recorded as well. The site was sadly vandalized some years back but I believe it's been restored since.
