      No butthurt here, just a well-honed intolerance for people who force their opinions on others while denying the same of those who simply state their thoughts.

    Hendry hasn’t lost the ability to make big breaks but he didn’t have the confidence and momentum to take it through a whole tournament to win, having the ability is one thing but the confidence and belief needs to be there as well and that was the side of it that was gradually eroded away by bad results and that’s why he retired 7 years ago.

      Depends how long the cue is, how far (on average) the bridge hand is from the cue ball, etc.
      The only real goal is to ensure your forearm drops vertically when the tip is right up to the cue ball.

    • @tomnorton7817
      @tomnorton7817 5 років тому

      (which, by the way, he’s never quite done. He was always just a little further back than textbook technique suggests)

    • @brianmagicman3556
      @brianmagicman3556 5 років тому +1

      @@tomnorton7817 There is no real way to hold the cue/how far back you should take the cue when cueing up/how long a pause should be before hitting the cue ball
      Everyone is different and what works for one person won't necessarily work for another
      It doesn't matter how you hold the cue or play the game - if you can pot balls and win frames in one visit (or sometimes 2 or 3 visits), that's all that matters

    A young Stephen Hendry playing in today’s game would be well clear on the most ranking tournament wins considering how many ranking events we have now. Same goes for century breaks, with tournaments every other week he would have gone well past the 1000 mark. Class act

We always here how the standard is better but I see no difference now from the 90s the very best keep dominating and make everyone else look average. If Hendry played 25-30 ranking events a season on heated tables with super fine cloth and 3G balls he would have racked up numbers nobody would have every reached .

      No he isn't. Hendry was a great player and champion, but he played in a weak era where he didn't face much opposition. This became quite clear in the 2000's, when he couldn't win major titles anymore and was finished aged 30.
