I'm a nighttime truck driver who is home every morning. This FSD attracts me because I just need to decompress on my 45-mile commute home from our terminal in the big city. Thanks for posting this.
FSD 13.2.2 is incredible. I traveled almost 200 miles through exiting the Dallas/Ft Worth TX area to Norman OK all using FSD, never having any takeovers/interactions! I did the same the next day but elsewhere within Dallas, which took me from the far north side to the far south side, over an hour's drive all through back streets and highways, with no takeovers/interactions!
I don't think most people realize that this is just tip of the iceberg. Driving is just the beginning. Society is about to go through a massive disruption as robots replace people for practically any repetitive work.
@@Valid909 it's honestly the only thing that possibly could. Imagine a superintelligence that can constantly help us navigate our disagreements and finally become one people
Another excellent video with commentary, this time with two commentators. I continue to appreciate the commentary videos more than the speeded-up music versions. Also, about 20 minutes is the perfect length. Thank you.
My wife and I just leased a model three today, and drove 66 miles completely flawlessly from the delivery center to our workplace. Flawless short trips since then, including auto park at a supercharger. Very impressed so far.
v13.2.2 has been amazing and finally pushed us into full purchase of FSD. Before, with 12.5.6 free trials it felt like it was SOOO close, but the switch to being AI4 native as well as the updated models is amazing. I can't wait to see future iterations.
I cannot wait for this to come to the UK. Almost every medium size town and all cities have a major traffic congestion problem. Major motorways can be a pain in the ??? Hopefully 2027 latest.
I’m a reasonably confident driver however on holiday in the US from New Zealand we picked up a rental vehicle in downtown San Francisco. I must admit I was rather spooked driving on the other side of the road initially and the navigating around. FSD would be perfect for us if we have another visit.
There’s every reason to believe that they’re gonna get there with FSD when you consider how close they are now. Even things like a lane change on the highway are much safer on the current version of FSD than a human. Consider there’s at least four cameras seeing everything all at once while making the lane change. If I’m checking my mirror and to the side - even for a split second to make sure it’s safe and the car in front of me suddenly slows down or hits the brakes, that could make for an emergency situation. But FSD can instantly respond to that type of edge case. Exciting times indeed.
Imagine the builds we’ll have at the end of 2025. When people step out of the driver seat at the store and the car drives away to go park is when it will go viral. It hasn’t yet, in my opinion.
Driving back to lbc from pnw. Rain galore. FSD constantly backed out & down. Outside of ca & tx it’s not ready. Even in ca bad nav data need to be addressed otherwise FSD will do stupid things. In Palo Alto now drove by tesla eng hq yesterday. It’s over indexed for sunny ca & tx obviously. It was speeding - I’m talking hi torque stoplight to stoplight - like a mad bot. Was a scared kitty in east side seattle where plenty of Teslas are but few are able to FSD
I'm loving these drives! Thank you very much. Augh! Yes, I would use the code and buy my Tesla now. But, I don't want the CyberTruck, the Model 3 is too low for me (I have trouble getting in and out of sedans. Same with the Model S.) Model X? Well, it's a good size, but the doors are the deal-breaker for me. Too many parts. Too many processes. Too many opportunities for failure. The Model Y is nearly perfect. But, the driver's side wheel well sticks too far into the cabin, so that my left foot has to sit at an awkward angle. Not a problem for 10 minutes. But, after a 45 minute drive, my whole leg is aching! I'm hoping that the refreshed Model Y will resolve that problem for me. Or, perhaps one of the new models coming out soon will take care of that. I really do like Teslas, in general, and I am very anxious to try the new FSD 13. But, it'll just have to wait for a bit longer. But, please do keep the drive videos coming. I'm really looking forward to when they add 'select your parking spot' as part of the drive experience. I'm guessing it'll be something like, when you get to your destination, it'll ask you where you'd like to park. (Not the same thing as the current Auto Park. Something intuitive there at the end of the drive.) I'm hoping. We'll see. Thanks, again, for the video. I hope y'all have a Happy New Year!
The Tesla AI team has done a fantastic job. V13.2.2 is something else. Feels like someone is driving it. One thing it needs is 3 cameras one facing left right and front on the bumper. I still feel that would greatly improve the safety
You need to see the Start Battery Level (70%) that changed at the first minute to 71%, and the final level of the trip still the same 71%. Unbeliveable gain! Zero consumption!. Just Imagine how many gallons an ICE car would consume... Brilliant World with TESLAs Cars.
@ I'm definitely not talking about perpetual motion. But the initial and final battery levels are the same. This shows energy conversion quality,/ electrical/mechanical/~1%. THAT is amazing. I read 8.4mi=13.5 km. 100Kw x1%= 1 KW of consumption. Only! Much better than what was published by Tesla and other tests.
I just got my Model Y on the 27th. I've already put over 400m miles on it, mostly using fsd. It is incredible. Except it fails to control speed properly on rural highways. I noticed that it isn't reading speed signs.
My 13.2.2.1 had a fail. I had to guide it into a store parking lot myself because it was screwing up. Was in wrong lane. And it also frequently goes the long way around a block. Why !?
I have also had some critical intentions that most of the vloggers are not even addressing in their drives. It’s better sure but stay attentive or be sorry
Quick question. I live in your neck of the woods and want to know your experiences of FSD going down Hawthorne towards the ocean. My tesla had me careening around 57 mph next to that concrete divider by the civic center. Scared the pants off of me, and I haven't used FSD since!
Thanks for the analysis! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
While this is really impressive and I use it every day myself, the video about what happens when the different cameras on the car see different views of the same terrain and how they work out which view to believe is enlightening and slightly scary, given that this has caused fatal crashes in the past. I still don’t really trust it at night either due to the reduced visibility.
It does now (sometimes) pull into a spot at the end of a drive but it currently does a terrible job of parking on FSD. It's strange because the "Auto Park" feature is almost perfect. I expect them to hook that code together in a very near future release. It's on the roadmap for later updates of v13 to be able to pick an option of what you want the car to do at the end of a drive (pulling over, parking in a spot, driveway, or garage) according to the release notes. I usually just disable FSD when it gets me to my destination then use Auto Park on a parking spot that I select. My only complaint with the Auto Park it currently only backs into a spot and sometimes I would prefer to pull in front ways. I would expect them to allow us to select that in the future.
I wonder how FSD will handle situations where jerks purposely stand in front of the car. I heard a horror story where some d-bags stood in front of a Waymo to force a girl to give them her number.
@vennekolt pavement noise. No rattle. It's lower to the ground than a suv and has lower profile tyres than a suv. It's not an expensive car or overly heavy with extreme sound deadening.
Have you been in the drivers seat on v13? I've been driving for 50 years now and just bought a Model Y about a month ago and have v13.2.2. I am blown away by how well it drives and feel much safer with it engaged, even though I've never had an accident in my 50 years of driving. And I would feel MUCH MUCH safer if everyone else on the road was using it. This is coming from someone that used to road race motorcycles and cars and really enjoyed driving.
That's because you're not seeing things past the tip of your own nose. That's short sighted. YOU do not define the rest of the population and you can't seem to see how others might use it at all. That's rather sad.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom I don’t think thatI’am short sighted nor am I stopping people spending money buying and using FSD. It am sure it will be successful when the cameras can cope with sunshine and fog.

FSD is great but $99 a month and $9.99 monthly connectivity fee is a bit high though. A $3,900 overhead payment for a 36 month lease.

I thought 13 was the final version?
so you thought when 13 came out the updates would suddenly stop cause the system could never get better?
