Preston and Robert, I can relate and emphasize with the feeling or thought process of reaching out to someone who has expressed desire to get to know you more and leaving the door open and they have not yet walked through. Wanting to just close it but knowing that you have to wait for them. I've been dealing with that with two very close family members for several years now.
This is fanTASTIC! This guy is a perfect example of humility, faithfulness, and hard work… wrapped in wisdom. Talking to people on the down line instead of the up line is a total value nugget from this podcast.
Weird side comment, that little room they are sitting in looks 🔥 I would love to sit and share a glass of wine with these two guys and just drink the wisdom and encouragement!!! I can’t be the only one who feels this way. This was very encouraging.
This was such a great but yet hard episode 🙌 I have been avoiding doing a self-assessment, I am happy I watched this episode because I am reminded of why I need to. The Holy Spirit most definitely spoke to me, indeed I feel mentored.
Hearing this is exactly what the Lord wanted me to hear. I know my mother (74) and I (57) see her almost everyday. Here's where I relate... throughout my entire life my mother has and still does choose men who are abusers (my abusers) over me. I pray against the spirit of rejection, in the name of Jesus, for us both of us! I've now seen another person living in trauma but not from it. -Pamela Mettler
Great episode. I can't wait for the next one with Robert Clark. About minute 28 he talks about an assessment that was pivotal in his career and self-awareness. As a supervisor, it got my attention. I just received my employee survey results last week. Over the last three years, the results of our department's employee surveys have been consistently negative. This year, they were much better in most areas and nominally in some. The areas that didn't improve much are important areas that directly reflect my direct reports' perception of my leadership. I am trying to celebrate the win while looking realistically at the opportunities. I appreciated that Robert mentioned his difficulty with a critical evaluator and did not use that as an excuse not to dig in. #MineForGold. I can relate and want to dig into the areas of truth where I can grow and develop. And use differentiation to separate personal perceptions of my team regarding me. Some of their feelings are based on life experiences and their own issues. Just because they feel a way doesn't mean I must take on the labels or assumptions of my motives and actions.
Deal with the chips on the shoulder! If only you knew how timely this is down to the words. I'm thankful for God growing me, and this podcast that weekly resonates and brings a message from God. So many hurts have shaped me and I've struggled to move past them so I can grow in my leadership, in a season of what the world is calling setbacks God is using it to minister to me.
Bring that people leader podcast STAT! Can't wait to learn more from you Robert. Preston, when's the Leader Cut Summit or Conference? It's time, I'd show up 😊

This was really good. I know God placed it in my path because I was looking for something else completely. Thank you.
