I think Trevor Noah would be a great addition to NPR. He is so very well prepared for each and every interview, and is very articulate. He has such a diverse overview of world politics, economy, racism, political systems, and human interrelationships, that he is able to compare and contrast in a way most of us have no previous experience and insight. He uses his sense of humor as a communication tool--which encourages people to listen, while allowing him to speak of topics which most of those listeners would tune out, turn off, berate him with criticism, or people would throw objects at him in many settings. It is a great loss to Comedy Central and the USA for him to depart, but I applaud him and wish him well.

Was there that day. And I'm around all the congressmen who deny this was bad. They were the same ones running and hiding for their lives that day, asking the police for help. Infuriating doesn't begin to describe it, as Fanone says
Michael Fanone is a regular guy who faced down evil- in the tunnel that awful day, and afterward on Capitol Hill. He is a true American hero. He is a much needed light shining in the gathering darkness in our country.

Interesting how the peaceful George Floyd rally in the capital back in June 2020 had soldiers of the army’s 82nd airborne division from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as well as the 3rd US infantry regiment, from Washington DC, mobilized as demonstrators protested against police brutality and systemic racism. Whereas this rally didn’t have the same security. ( and don’t tell me the FBI or CIA didn’t know about the threat of violence. Someone in the high ranks connected to Trump is responsible for this security failure. ) I like this policeman’s direct truthfulness and common sense We need to listen to all professionals working in the trenches for remedies and truth- not politicians.
Doubt that this THURSDAY'S hearing will implicate inside coordination. Pelosi did fire Top CP immediately, she knows about Flynn, his brother suuden appointment at the Pentagon surely. Your use of “Rally” is the type of indifferent speech he described useless politicians use. The nation wide protests against racism in the police force is far different from the pointed, chaotic attack on the US Capitol. I would never listen to the Uvalde leo’s. Michael Fanone is an American hero. I don't know if I would agree with all his politics, as I believe he used to be a Republican, a Conservative, and a Trump supporter. He is none of those things anymore as I understand it. But he has really pertinent and interesting things to say, and he seems like a substantial dude. I thank him for his service and his guts, and wish him success and healing.

I didn't realize it was 850 officers who defended the Capitol. They all deserve recognition, awards, and support. I think Trevor’s question: “Did they see you or acknowledge you as a human or did it feel like they were going through you at all costs?” needs to asked by & about everyone of each other.
Btw he was a Republican that voted twice for Trump, but very unfortunate for him to find out your party betrayed you so horribly. A true eye opener to find out the hard way.

They weren't there for Trump they just wanted violence of any kind to show how tough they are. To attack law enforcement officers like they did and end up causing the death of an officer they all deserve life in prison. We don't need people like this defending our country.
Don’t insult amoebas by comparing them to Dolt45!
Indeed. And sadly, this is how Black people (and other minorities) have felt for centuries.
Michael Fanone - I thank you for your bravery and service. Much respect to you.
Thank you Sr. For your service 🇺🇸💙

What a wonderful human. Thank you, Mr. Fanone, for your service and for speaking the truth and not backing down. Trevor, thank you for your thoughtful interview. Kudos to both of you.
Trevor ❤❤❤❤ what a great interviewer thank you … Officer Fanone, I’m heart broken for what you went through.. please know we know exactly what happened on that day. Keep putting the word out ✊✊✊
I was watching live that day. It was horrendous and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Our capital and the officers under siege😢. It was terrifying! Officer Fanone you are a true hero. May you find peace as you work through the trauma you experienced💙
Nice to have an honorable guest on the show. Appreciate you interviewing the man folks at TDS 👍👍
Sorry. What?
@@epona9166 Do you struggle at reading?
I will be forever grateful to Michael and all his fellow officers, men and women, who put their lives on the line to save our democracy. I'm. not sure I'm ready to read his book yet, because that day was so horrible and it still makes me cry to think about what happened. However, I will buy it because I want to support this brave man who is speaking out for his fellow officers and naming the deplorable people who thumbed their arrogant noses at those who saved their lives. Thank you,, Officer Fanone, for your courage and your wisdom.
This is the best interview I've seen with Fanone and it was all in a 10 minute or so clip. He is so on point with what the problem is with law enforcement, the local governments and its citizens. Trevor, (as usual )is such an intelligent and honest host and interviewer. Thank you for this!
Trevor is a real hero for our world. He reminds me more and more of one of these legends like Martin Luther or Nelson Mandela. Not to only change Black life recognition or anything in particular, but to keep the public aware of so many problems and also their solutions for them to make this world a better place.
Thanks Trevor for everything you do. 🙏
Thanks Michael and Trevor. You are a beam of hope for all the On es that still believe in Democracy, around all the World.
Got the book on audible and am cuttently listening. I'm glad he is telling his story and telling the TRUTH. I appreciate this interview so much for making me aware
Could see Trevor doing a one on one indepth hour show, he brings out the best in everyone bc he's so smart and we'll read. Super interview with NEW info and background on Hero Fanone💞👮
Trevor is half Swiss. Thats why he is smart and well read. 🇨🇭😉
I respect and admire Mr Fanone's courage and bravery and appreciate him sharing his stories with us. ❤️
I adore him and hope he continues to heal. I also hope he knows the majority of this country appreciates his bravery and honesty.
Just listened to the the audio book. Immersive and powerful. Highly recommend.
This man has more honor in his pinky toe than the most the Republican Party❤️🤍💙

I wouldn’t go that far. He has said he voted for Trump in 2016; don't know about 2020, but I’m guessing he’d vote for him again if he had the chance. He didn’t say anything in this interview to suggest he comprehends the seriousness of the insurrection and its implications for our country. I’m obviously sorry he was so brutally treated, but it has nothing to do w honor.
Started slowly, but holy cow what insights Fanone provided into law enforcement at the end. Another wonderful interview leaving much to think about.
I respect and admire Michael Fanone.
The videos alone sends chills. That crowd was massive.
Michael is national treasure, needs to be protected at all costs.
This guy is incredible. I hope he is awarded the medal of freedom. He deserves it.
Yes!
✨All the respect Officer Fanone. BLESSSSS 🙏🏽
Hero. Fanone nails response time and expectations perfectly. As a 30 yr police dispatcher, just listening to radio traffic on that day gives me horrors, imagine being engulfed in that mob? Augh, I see those images and just shudder. Will be buying Officer Fanone's book.
Thank you Officer Fanone, you are a true patriot and hero 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Trevor you did such a thoughtful job with this interview. He deserves this. Respect to Fanone and all officers who were at the capitol.
Honest and articulate. We honor his service to protect.
Hold fast brother. Keep the faith whatever it will be. Northern California has love for you. I certainly do.
Love how Trevor is able to create a comfortable zone for Officer Fanone. By 6:10 Michael is leaning in to the interview totally relaxed. Comfortably expressing himself. That's a inate skill Trevor has right now. Both interviewer and interviewee are to be commended.
Trevor, I so appreciate you; besides being a great interviewer - you actually take the time to read the books and therefore you can go in-depth in conversation to pull the best from your guest.
I wish you the most continued success as you move forward in your life and I truly will miss your intellectual and comedic spins.
I am very glad Officer Fanone wrote this book and I look forward to reading it. Great interview, Trevor! Going to miss you!
Wonder if he's looking abroad? Hope he stays where we can stream, maybe a longer more in depth show??
Hope he takes over James Corden, will miss him too. In

So sad and shocking that this happened in the US. Kudos to you mr. Fanone❤

Thank you for writing this its such a great book. A glimpse of our history
every time I see another amazing interview on the show, my list of books/series/movies I want to read/watch is getting longer and longer, many thanks to Trevor and the whole team of the daily show, I really appreciate your choices/suggestions
Best interview of Officer Fanone on his book I’ve heard.
I’m so sorry you and your colleagues had to experience this terrible act of violence while protecting our country. I’m an Army veteran and am appalled at the military veterans who forget their oath and behave this way. I am ordering your book to show my support.
Bravo! 👍💙 Just read his Rolling Stone Article. Look forward to reading his book. Ordered today! He speaks for us. I couldn’t agree more! I am so glad he is! He’s our voice. So glad he’s recovering. Wishing him all the best. You too Trevor! I am reading your book now. We love your show and your comedy and your humility & honesty combined with humor. Living Brilliance.💙👍

Thank you Mr. Fanone for your brutal honesty. Thank you Trevor for yet another brilliant interview. I love how you actually read the book before you interview your guests. I will miss your awesome and beautiful candor.

Micheal Falone speaks with intelligence and integrity. I hope we will hear more from him if he so chooses. It's a tragic irony that this man nearly lost his life to gain a public voice. I hope that he and his fellow officers receive the support and compensation they deserve.
so insane people downplay what happened
I know, worse than 9/11 as downplay has to continue for Captured Retrumplicans to control vote through Suppression.
If course, Trump knew everything. Military and rogue Law Enforcement, some retired has DOJs attention, 800+ Arrested, over half convicted, so far.
For two weeks the Ellipse was on little ole me nobody's phone. I recall commenting ' Don't Go'. Actually reporting a couple, for couldn't language, which I rarely do being a Free Speech person. Other feeds popped up for months, had to look up who 'Ginny' was and Eastman, before the election! Didn't know the false electors and Constitution mumble jumble at the time? Hope there's no shenanigans or harassment by Cleta Mitchell and her gang next month.💟✌️🇺🇸🗳️🙏
Your use of “Rally” is the type of indifferent speech he described useless politicians use. The nation wide protests against racism in the police force is far different from the pointed, chaotic attack on the US Capitol.
I would never listen to the Uvalde leo’s. Someone’s position doesn’t tell you who they are, and your implied bias is a dangerous assumption.
And the rally/protest at the Capital for George Floyd was peaceful ✌️.
@@nancychandler3673 During the day, check the arrests. Wonder who WAS paying the thugs at night to disrupt and pillage? Trump payed day extras ACTORS to be at "Elevator" announcement 2015. The is no such thing as Antifa, Trump's own Law Enforcement Director said so.
What a man Fanone is! A true American hero.
An important conversation I've been waiting to hear. Great job.
Great interview, both of you.
Thanks 🙏 for sharing this with us and so much appreciate it!
This was an incredible interview.
Everyone who knows you should be proud of having you in their lives!
This was a very interesting conversation. I wish the interview was longer.
Mr Fanone is, in my considered opinion, an incredible human being. He is the face of the heroic victims who were strategically sucker punched by their leaders to make it possible to be overtaken by those summoned to over throw democracy.
Trevor reads the books and has cogent questions to address and seek more detail - focusing on broader aspects of the information found in the book, rather than just what seems like the issue that caused the book to be written by the author. Trevor's hard work will be missed if/when he leaves!
There is always a moment when the author realizes Trevor has actually read the book and you can just see them feel appreciated in that moment, he and his team are interview pros in a way that is never given its props
I appreciate his firsthand point of view, and his bravery for adding nuance to the conversation about how police are used among the community. I'm sure he'll take a lot of heat for it.
What a contrast, Uvalde and Capitol Police🚨
Michael Fanone is an American hero. I don't know if I would agree with all his politics, as I believe he used to be a Republican, a Conservative, and a Trump supporter. He is none of those things anymore as I understand it. But he has really pertinent and interesting things to say, and he seems like a substantial dude. I look forward to seeing what he does on TV, as I learned he is going to be part of some kind of news show, or work on TV as a consultant. I think that could be great. I thank him for his service and his guts, and wish him success and healing.
Great point by Fanone. Reducing crime is more than just a numbers game. Unfortunately numbers are a easy way to measure something and then point at to show progress. We need a better way and maybe better people to get us there.
What a wonderful brave police officer. Thank you for putting your life on the line and risking it to protect our DEMOCRACY 🙏🏼🇺🇸
Complex Community Dynamics Brilliantly Explained! Politicians: Quantity indicator vs Quality indicator, and what the Politicians can do to enforce their image, by exploitation of Vulnerable People ! Thank you so much for this interview!
Thank you very much for this show!!!
Fanone should run for Congress. He would be great at telling Trumpublican congress member where they should go.
Award him a congressional Medal of Honor for god’s sake
He and other officers who were protecting the Capitol that day were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal last year.
I didn't realize it was 850 officers who defended the Capitol. They all deserve recognition, awards, and support. I think Trevor’s question: “Did they see you or acknowledge you as a human or did it feel like they were going through you at all costs?” needs to asked by & about everyone of each other.
love you Trevor
I wish there were more officers that were like him. He seems pretty sincere.
Btw he was a Republican that voted twice for Trump, but very unfortunate for him to find out your party betrayed you so horribly.
A true eye opener to find out the hard way.
Many of us have left the Republican Party after their disrespect for this brave man.
Remarkable man and thoughtful interview!
I hope once he heals completely he will consider being a voice for change in our politics/policing in our nation, we need people like this.
