Dr. Gray what would say if a student has a high GPA for example 3.86 but it's a downward trend? So like 3.96 first year 3.89 2nd year 3.86 3rd year. Is that still fine for medical school? I know stats isn't what define the student but just wanted to know for my own and others sake

Thats not enough to be a downward trend. A downward trend would have to be a significant dip like if it went from 3.9 to 3.3 you would probably make adcoms starts to worry.

Yeah I wouldn’t be too worried about that much of a drop. Also, if your lower grades (B’s or A-‘s) came from the hard sciences like organic chemistry, then I’d especially be not AS concerned, say if during your senior and junior year you had those classes. Just a food for thought.
