I recently picked up several battery backpack sprayers to put to the test to see which one was the best sprayer out! I got a Flowzone Typhoon 2V a Solo 416LI a Milwaukee M18 switch tank and the Chapin 20 volt. In this video I go over the features of each and put them through a few tests to see how they would preform.

The flow zone typhoon 2v is fantastic sprayer with the variable speed pump. They Flowzone typhoon 2V also has a quick connect tip system like a pressure washer for easy tip changes. I think if I was to go with just one of these sprayers I would choose the Flowzone typhoon 2V or the Milwaukee m18 switch tank. They have a better feel over the Solo 416 LI but you cannot go wrong with the solo 416LI either. For those with a smaller budget the Chapin will work just fine, you don't get any bells and whistles with it just a sprayer that does just that.
Helps a lot. One of my yards is huge. I recall refilling 6 times with a 4-gallon pump. Attaching a pump sprayer to mower seat really sped up the process, but I wished I had battery a powered.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. The big problem with the Milwaukee is its well-earned reputation for lacking durability.
I'm a team Team Red guy. Milwaukee makes fantastic kit. That said, the Milwaukee Switchtank is the worst tool I've ever owned. Multiple leaks and outright failures. And when it is running, the white plastic elbow has a screen that clogs constantly. Milwaukee was great with regard to customer service. They replaced the unit twice and tank three times. Just called and gave the serial number.
Eventually, I had enough. Bought a Typhoon 3. Night and day difference. Anyone who is considering the Milwaukee needs to read the reviews on Home Depot, etc. Total POS.
Thank you for your service
Good stuff
Why do spray time when they all have different voltage and ampere hour batteries
howmuch the five gallon sprayer,
I hope Ego makes a high quality sprayer in the near future, they have a great lineup of products.
100% agree with this. I'd love to see that.
They do make good products but seriously need to work on that battery life
@@calebproductions5970 I have actually been impressed with the battery life. I have the 20" mower with the 56V battery and I'm getting just over an hour of use per charge. Its enough to cut my 14,000 square feet on one charge so I'm very happy with it.
I agree. I love my Ego 20" mower with the 56V battery. I cut my entire 14,000 square foot front lawn on one battery so it's great and a very quality cut.
@@JeffSmith-eq3kc that's good...I can only use my blower or weed eater for 15 minutes and it's dead
If you had to pick one which would it be?
By far one the best reviews I have seen wow! Thanks for the detailed review.
Thank you sir!
Best comparison review video I’ve seen yet! Thanks
Thank you!
Well done. All facets discussed. Ten out of ten.
Thank you!
just add how many gallons ,how fast to the how long.good luck
Thanks for your service and time
You bet thanks for watching!
Good review analysis. I actually bought the M4 a couple months ago. So far it’s been pretty reliable.
Good stuff man! Thanks for watching!
I've had mine for over a year now and I love it. Replace anything on it including the pump for $30. Even though I haven't had to replace anything yet knowing that when something goes out I can replace it fast and for cheap is great! I've used it for hours and hours at a time.
First of all, thanks very much for all the effort you and your wife put into this video👍. I’m thinking of adapting a backpack sprayer to a walk behind. I have a lot of rural stone driveways to spray, existing push sprayers are 12 gallons or more. Thanks for introducing the Milwaukee, I have multiple Milwaukee tools but had no idea this existed.
Glad it was helpful!
I have an Earthway ground driven push sprayer,I think it holds 5 gallons or so ,the thing actually does a pretty good job
Fantastic video to watch to help me make a decision on my purchase.
The new Bauer sprayer from harbor freight seems great for the price difference
Great demonstration!
Great video!
Gut gemacht Brett
It would have been interesting to measure flow throughput on the sprayers during the test. In the distance test it looked like the flowzone had a higher output and I wonder how much it sprayed in its 2 hours vs the solo in its 4 hours.
Great video man! Keep up the hard work!
Thank you sir!
My 4 sons.
The Flowzone has two batteries options, I think you have the 2.6ah so I will try this pump with 5.2ah battery.
Surprised you didn’t mention how Milwaukee has a swappable tank with add on tanks to prevent cross contamination of products you may be applying.
Yes that really is the shining feature of the Milwaukee!
@@Brettsgrasscapades The Milwaukee tanks fail so this isn't really a benefit when the backpack is unreliable
Great comparison video!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Amazing video helped out a ton! I’ve got some Miluawkee tools already (use their impacts on my mower blades) so was planning on going with it but now you’ve got me debating hard between it and the flowzone
Both are great. The Milwaukee leaves liquid in the bottom of the tank that you can't spray out easily. That's really my only issue with it.
@@Brettsgrasscapades People on Home Depot website saying this thing leaks like hell and clogs easily. The Milwaukee that is.
@@shanew7361 I can vouch for the Milwaukee being a leaker
@@T_Humphries Milwaukee I have had 3 duds in a row.. avoid if you can.. it took me 3 years to get a refund also..
Great presentation. I'm shopping right now for sprayer. Needed this information. Thanks
Waterloo Pest Management

For pest management I'd say the flowzone or the solo are great. I've heard b&g makes a great one as well.
Epic, love the testing!
Thanks man!
Appreciate the review. Going to buy a Milwaukee on-line. Thanks!!!
You will love it! Such a good sprayer.
Way to take one for the team. Watching the sprayers spray 4 hours! Great video
Man I did not think it was going to turn into an almost 5 hour process!
Finally a great video.
Thanks!!
Great video, unbiased comparison. Thanks
You get a thumps up for all the work to demostrate, use to use quite a few Birchmier hand pump versions to prevent contamination, back in the day. Any experience with the 18V Ryobi, probably on the lines of the Black & Decker/Chapin... Nice to now have the battery versions.
Dope video dude! You're a champ
Is the flowzone sprayer the same as the Strom? They look identical
Flowzone has a new one with greatly improved strap and other tweaks.
Thank you for posting. Lot’s of effort.
I just bought a Flow Zone sprayer and one of the reasons I picked it was that the parts are available, something to consider. I saw a review on the Chapin and the reviewer said you had to send the Chapin in for repair, I don't know if this is common or not. I really like it and now I have to let my original hand pump backpack I bought in the 1970's go and it still works fine.
wow, that's some dedication, thanks for doing that!
Thank you! It turned into a much longer process than expected!
❤
Told you solo is awesome! Love my solo sprayer
I can see why!
Great review. The only feature I think you missed about the Milwaukee is the switch tank feature. Being able to have additional tanks with different chemicals and not cross contaminate can be a HUGE asset. It would be interesting to have measured the actual amount sprayed during the spray marathon. Of course you could get an extrapolated result by just timing 4 gal in each doing some math. The actual full duration will be a bit less as voltage does drop over time, no matter what they say about Li Ion batteries, their is a distinct difference between a 1/4 charge battery and a full one. Other than that, well done, Sir.
Thanks for the great feedback Mike I always appreciated good constructive feedback.
Still gotta clear the hose and wand though.
@@LemonySnicket-EUC Uhhh. No. Each tank has it's own pump, hose, and wand. The battery, control, and motor stay with the backpack.
i use milwaukee one in my job and i have to say its good. i do recommend it
When is DeWalt going to make a battery one?
A+ for the testing!
Great information thank you
Thanks for watching!
Love the video it helped me with my decision on the sprayer I'm buying thank you keep the videos coming
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The thorough analysis of these four backpack sprayers gets a raving review from this critic. Two enthusiastic thumbs up! The execution was phenomenal and I look forward to future content by this creator.
Oh stop it you're making me blush.
Hey Brett. thanks for taking the time to make this video. I believe the B&D is a constant pressure sprayer with a 20V, 1.5A battery, the Flowzone is a variable pressure sprayer with a high output pump powered by a 11v, 7.8A battery, the Milwaukee has a five pressure setting control with an 18V, 3A battery, and the Solo has a low (32psi.) and a high (62psi) pressure settings powered by an 11V, 7.8A battery. I believe that this pump would have lasted the longest only because it is designed to push 5gal. of water versus four. I'm curious as to what the pressure settings were for the Solo, Flowzone, and Milwaukee when the spray timing was conducted. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video. BTW the yard looks amazing!
Thanks for your input gene, I had all the sprayers set to their highest setting for pressure for the test.
The flowzone is a 18v 5.2A battery if that makes any difference
Awesome vid....love that flowzone...milwaukee’s nice too but flowzone looks like a really nice consistant spray.....well done Brett
The flowzone was the strongest constant spray and didn't seem to lose pressure one bit until it died. It is an awesome sprayer!
Trash product. Trust me. Trash
Damn, the grass is most definitely very green over there
What state have nice grass like that?
Nice video. I wish you would have included the Srrom sprayer and the Sprayers Plus, I think it's called. Thanks
Thank you! Sadly only so much I had access to.
Would it have worked if you sprayed back into the tank so you wouldn't have to keep filling them?
Haha I thought about that after I spent then entire day filling sprayers.
Which one has the highest flow rate?
great info thanks
I think the Strom 4 gallon is the best I have used. Simple, high pressure or low pressure. Brass simple fittings. Plenty of pressure. I believe it's under $300 as well.
As far as I can tell the strom and the flowzone appear to be identical. They are more than likely both manufactured in China in the same place.
Great review video. Very informative and detailed. 👍
Thank you sir!
Man you had to commit to that test! Haha that was crazy! Nice job
Yeah man it went way longer than I ever thought it would! Thanks for watching!
Dude. You should've had them spray inside their own tank. lol. I have a milwaukee and it has gotten clogged. There's not much of a filtering system. Do the others have decent filters? You didn't say anything about that.
I'm going with the Flowzone typhoon 2.5 with the newly included mega comfy strap and true 5 power settings.
It would be nice to know the actual water flow vs the amount of time they ran in your test.
It does seem to be a complete piece of equipment
In my self I loved Milwaukee because I have pieces and service close to my house, the back pack it's comfortable and easy to use; Really thanks for that comparation test and for teach everything.
Thanks a lot bro👍🏼
you did not even mention that with the Milwaukee sprayer the tank switch feature that is nice when spraying different stuff and cross contamination
If it was doing a gallon a minute that was an epic 380 gallons!
...I think....
Awesome!
280 gallons out of the solo of it did 1 gallon per minute. Still crazy.
@@Brettsgrasscapades Thanks for the correction!
Has anyone checked to see if the flowzone is compatible with makita batteries
Should of added the b&g pest pro 4
I would have loved to but budget only goes so far.
Cool video
What kind of grass you got ? It look perfect
Dude, awesome review. I'm going with Milwaukee cuz I already have Milwaukee tools and for the switch tank. Sucks it costs so much, but with those things really makes it worth it
You will be happy with it! Thanks for watching
Slightly late First Aussie 😁. Brett’s Lawncare product review channel coming to you soon. Great review on these products.😁👍👍
Still in before the guru
Good video but the run time is fairly Irrelevant for the Milwaukee because you can get a larger battery that will blow all of the others out of the water.
Dude what type of grass is that?
Cool season blend of kbg PRG and fescue.
Chapin pretty much same as regular hand pump. Definitely will other cordless when my regulars quit, have 2. Curious about the Ryobi...
Are you a professional PMP I see your B&G in the back and chemicals. Thank you for the great review!
In a past life I was a professional applicator. The b&g is hands down the best pump sprayer on the market!
Any problems with clogging while spraying certain products, i.e, humic, rgs, etc? Any issues combining products? I read somewhere that this could be with the Milwaukee. Would like to see if this is really a problem. Thx for the video.
I ran some thick humic through the Milwaukee and it ran like a champ!
Brett's Grasscapades woooop woooooop👍😎
The Milwaukee clogs like crazy. Known issue. Problem is not thick materials, but tiny bits of grass clippings, or other materials getting inside. Great machine when it's working. But the clogging is maddening.
Excellent presentation! Thanks for your service!! Sub’d
Thank you sir!
Have you ever heard of Jacto?
Great comparison video and cuddos for such a supportive wife. Now you just have to do a comparison video between the before and afetr test water Bill's. I would get kill.
Haha yeah I figure at roughly a gallon per minute the solo alone went through roughly 280 gallons alone.
@@Brettsgrasscapades Thanks for taking one for the team. Congratulations on the Anderson's deal.
The rep told me the flow zone typhoon would run for 3 and a half hours on a full charge
Obviously I can’t speak to every single one but this is my experience.
You didn't highlight the biggest feature of milwaukee that you can switch tanks so if you don't want to mix chemicals it's easy don't need a whole other sprayer
Yes that is seriously one of the best parts!
I bought 20v black and decker for $100 at Walmart at the beginning of the season. It works but I don't have any other one to compare it to. It's now $50. I was going to get 2 but my wife said how many do I need. L share this video with her
That's a great deal at $50! Thanks for watching!
Great video and thanks for making this!! Do you think one of these units could reach say 2nd story gutters? I'm starting a pressure washing company and was thinking about maybe trying something like this to spray gutter clean on gutters. Thanks for if you reply!
And bro.... your lawn is a complete thing of beauty! I have 1.74 acres of St. Augustine I wrestle with. I'm so jealous!!
So, is Milwaukee the best?
Awesome comparison! I need to get one of these next year. Manual pumping is sort of a pain. But mine for $20 lol. All I care about is spray pattern and consistency. That’s most important to me behind reliability.
The spray pattern is great on all of these!
U got some nice grass my mane
I can't believe no sprayers plus
I wanted to add them to the mix but only so many funds and I reached out to them but never got returned emails.
hey Brett. best comparison vid for the sprayers. which sprayer would you say has the highest flow you know you could have just sprayed back into the tank so u don't have too keep an eye out and fill with the hose every time lol
I thought of doing that about halfway through the process but that ship had sailed! As far as output I think the flowzone and Milwaukee were the highest.
Wait..... there’s more!? An extendible wand 😲
Probably not a huge deal but in certain situations it may be nice!
What was the weight between the Milwaukee and the Flowzone fully loaded with water.....???????
Not sure but the Milwaukee was heavier.
So you going to sell me your Flowzone Typhoon to me???
@@dronemaddness5148 tell ya what I'll trade it straight across for the swardman! 😁😁😁
You know what???...... Your negotiating skills really really suck. I guess that's why they call you #brettsuckness😍😍😁👍😎
I still love ya bro 😉👍😎
So how many gallons of water did you spray? 😎
More than my water company is going to like!
@@Brettsgrasscapades HAHAHA!
Hey man, watched your vid. I bought the Chapin first and it leaked right out of the box. Sent it back. Just ordered the solo 417 li which isn't the one you have here I found out when the wand was different and it ONLY has a single fan tip which is completely worthless for what I need it for. Do all these solo tips work with each other or no.?! If not gonna need to send this back too.. Just absolutely disgusted right now.I can live without the extending wand but not just a fan tip. Happy to order others but have no idea if they will work from home wand to the next and time is a factor.. thanks man
My Black and Decker started leaking..
Dang it! That sucks!
Nice comparison. I just purchased the Flowzone Typhoon 2v. The quick connect and variable pressure are the game changers for me. Do you know the size of the quick disconnect (i.e. 1/4" etc.)?
What size was the Milwaukee battery? I must've skipped a part
9 amp
9
I got it thanks
How much does the flowzone weigh dry weight? Cant find it anywhere.
Not sure why anyone using a backpack sprayer would need or want 120PSI. Seems you're paying for an unnecessary amount of pressure unless you're spraying up 50 feet vertically.
The higher pressure is nice for pesticide applications in trees or rooflines.
I think I may try the ryobi sprayer for 150. It's got to be better than black and decker, right? haha
Very well could be! Thanks for watching!
Are you fucking kidding me 160 something dollars you are your mind
Do you know much about the flowzone cyclone 2v?
Unfortunately no I haven't messed with one. But the quality of the typhoon makes me think it should be pretty good.
Great video! Sub’d!
Thank you sir!
Has anyone tried spraying a bleach solution out of the flowzone?? Will the parts last or how long until they give out?
I have not so I'm not sure how well it would hold up. However it is built really well so I'd imagine it would be good for a while.
