It’s definitely one of the best movie sequels on par with The Godfather Part II, The Empire Strikes Back, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Aliens, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight and Paddington 2. Even Christopher Nolan acknowledged Rodrick Rules in an interview for Oppenheimer last year since Devon Bostick who played Rodrick in the Wimpy Kid trilogy (yes, it’s only a trilogy), played Seth Neddermeyer in the film.

Rewatching this movie made me realize that apart from being sanitary, Fregley is actually a friendly guy you could actually hang out with. Greg even hangs out with him in the third movie.

Both of our boys have avoided the school bathrooms starting in middle school all the way through high school. It is the #1 location of fights, vandalism, bullying, and vaping. It sucks.

Billy missed the fact that when Patty said she was too smart to touch someone with the cheese touch, then gave Rowley a big hug, she was touching the person with the actual cheese touch. (Rowley ate the cheese). That's why Greg was smiling at her and saying sarcastically that she was too smart to touch him.

The Diary of A Wimpy Kid series is an awesome series of books aimed at kids/young adults. They were everywhere when they first came out and I’m pretty sure there’s nearly 20 books now plus spin-offs

I can NOT believe you never read Diary of a Wimpy Kid when you were in school😭 Those books use to be soo popular when I was in elementary to middle school! I remeber my 4th grade teacher actually did a read aloud to us of Diary of a Wimpy Kid then at the end of the school year she arranged for us to have a "field trip" to the movie theaters to watch the movie because it had just came out not that long ago.
Also my 4th grade class use to be WILD, there was a girl in my class named Lindsay who nobody liked because she was really awkard and always smelled bad soo some kid came up with the "Lindsay Touch" to mimick the cheese touch from the book and our whole class would secretly go around and tap each other and be like "you have the Linday touch"💀 Best believe when my teacher found out she made a whole speech about it and we got in big trouble!
Well in his defense, he might be around my age. Book 1 came out in 2007 which was my last semester as a freshman in high-school.

I read the book as a kid and still do. I read three of the books before the movie came out. Rodrick is the best character in the movies since he's the emo boy every girl drools over and he's good looking. The only scene that I couldn't stand what gives me anxiety is when Greg pissed on Rodrick. Although it was his fault since he could've gone in the bottle or go out the window and squat in the backyard. I'm so grateful that doesn't happen in the books. Nonetheless, you should watch the other two movies after this cause you'll love it trust me. I enjoyed middle school even though it brought out the worst in myself.

see my yearbook is filled with the popular people being successful for the most part and then there' me, i was a loner and loser in school and that hasnt changed and im 38 now. In our area they are $20 at the elementary school level. The price jumps to $80 after 6th grade.
Somewhere in the movie (or the sequel), there was a shot of Rowley at the center of the lunch table surrounded by classmates on either side of him. The shot, along with Rowley's purehearted nature, was SUCH Biblical imagery and foreshadowing. It totally gave me vibes from "The Last Supper" painting, with Rowley literally being the Christ figure himself. With that in mind, then Greg must be freaking Saint Peter. Both Greg and Saint Peter denied their friends several times and got them in major trouble, but made amends for it in the end. My mind is blown. XD

Every time I watch this movie, I remember man we were so young because the lead characters that play Greg and Rowley played by Zachary Gordon and Robert Carpon are same age as me and both born in 1998; by the time they came back to do a fourth movie after doing three with this cast Zach & Robert including me because we are the same age we were like 17-18 years old and grew out of the role because we are all grown up 1:17
