Oh how fun! It is magical being on a stadium baseball field. I had many opportunities as a reporter decades ago, and each time, walking through that tunnel and onto the field was the biggest thrill. I love how much you love baseball!
That reminds me of Chief Nocahoma, the Braves' mascot at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. He had a teepee there. When the Braves hit a homerun, he came out of his teepee and ran around it in a victory dance. He never left the state of Georgia. He died recently. RIP. He really missed doing that for the Braves. But in today's culture, they won't allow it. It makes him sad and it makes me sad too. I'm Irish, Native American. That mascot was so much better than that hideous blooper thing that does nothing, and is just more of an embarrassment. Go Braves ❤️⚾️ 💙
@@braves9652 My Dad told me Chief Nocahoma brought girls into his teepee.🤣 No doubt the Chief was a million times better than Blooper, but Blooper makes me laugh.
That's RIGHT, Hank Aaron is the true Home Run champ! Kind of sad that they show more history of him at the Teepee than they do At AmFam Field, given that he played the majority of his career here. Point of note, if anyone is ever in Eau Claire, Wisconsin (a day trip from the Twin Cities), Aaron also played for the Eau Claire Bears, then a minor league farm team for the Boston Braves. There is a nice honor to him outside of Carson Park.
Welcome to Atlanta. I was in the stadium in April 1974 with my family, and we watched Hank Aaron break Babe Ruth's record. The thing I remember the most about that night was the media. I was 9 years old, and I had never seen so many media trucks. Lol. But i do remember Hank Aaron hitting the homerun. He has died, and so has my mom and older sister, and now I am 60 years old. I worked for the Braves as an usher so I could see all of the games for free. Well worth it. My mom did live long enough that I got to watch the Braves win the World Series 2021 with her. Go Braves. 💙⚾️❤️
@MikeR65 And Babe Ruth was a pitcher. They were both fantastic players. And they both did it fair and square. Baseball is beautiful, and whoever said baseball is boring knows nothing about the game. They both are kings in my book, The Babe and Hammerin' Hank. Fair and square. 🌌⚾️⚾️☮️⚾️⚾️💜

I've been to many games all of my life and worked for the Braves for a few years so that I could get into every game for free. They use to play music and a large drum for the chop and made it much more intense but they unfortunately, have decided to stop doing that. They show tomahawk graphics that are shown during the games and the audience absolutely still participates in doing the chop, so definitely come to one of our games and enjoy doing the chop!!!!
