loved to listening this in GTA IV
Foreals, this one of my classmate's fav song in the game. I just listen to it to reminisce of times in the past
Hahaha Boy, I know him in 2007 from the encarta encyclopedia
Me too pig
Happy 93rd birthday, Sonny!
I hope there's a lot more. I can't tell you how much Sonny means to us... live or on record.
Ah, yes. The days where brilliant engineers brought us the Rollins sound. These albums sound BETTER than 90% of the music recorded today. They really cared.
@@jeffryhammel3035 so true. Mixing has gotten cleaner and boring. You can’t hear the life in music anymore.
@Time_power101 Very often it sounds almost exploitative today. I was 18 when I started listening to some of those Chess, Prestige, and dare I say, even Columbia jazz albums. I wondered how the hell they could bring "live" to my living room!
Max's solo went under my radar until now, which is ofc a crying shame...if I "catch the one" it is mere fun....the whole tune is...turns every jazz session wild, the ladies are dancing....and you get dates, haha ;-)
Let's enjoy the time this gentleman is still with us today! IMO one of the best jazz tunes ever written. Such a positive melody, amazing tune
How lucky to be sharing the planet with this legend
Yes! It’s 4/29/24 and he’s still here. I hope SO MUCH that he knows how much he has impacted the world of music.
Just listened to “Waiting on a Friend”. While I greatly admire the Stones, they were lucky to get Rollins to contribute his talent in 1981. He is a master. 🙏💚
I really mean this - my one wish is to see Sonny and shake his hand. He blessed my city of Chicago with such great and varied concerts from the 70's to the 2000's. He may be the last living great. Gawd, I hope he hits 110.
@@sandrab2884SONNY KNOWS!!
He is a testimony of some of the great musicians that hailed from the Virgin Islands .
Among the best jazz drumming laid to track.
If people wonder what made Max Roach so great, this is a pretty good start. Nobody played the melody on the drums. And here's Max, quoting the melody on his cymbals, playing those toms like nobody else.
holy holy
Well it Is Max. You know it's gonna be right.
Legendary backing by Tommy Flanagan piano,Max Roach Drums, Doug Watkins Bass.
Just had a FUCK of a day. This is my go to.
F bomb really?
@@peterduffy5020 chill baby
@@peterduffy5020 Jazz was born in two places the Church and the Cotton Fields. If you can't say it like you feel it you might as well throw jazz down the tubes. I am not saying Jazz isn't classy - I'm saying that Jazz accepts you for who you are and works with you from there.
@@peterduffy5020bros shocked to hear F bombs in the jazz community 😆
Classic
This album is a Milestöne in jazz history for sax players and drummers and piano players and evrybody else.

Is Sonny involved with this channel? He deserves every bit of support we can give him.
200,000 views is probably worth about $200 but I agree - the artist should receive all the cash rewards for their own creations.
