I weep at the present state of my beloved country, and pray that things will return to the way they were. BRING BACK THE OLD TIME DAYS.

I was there in Skinner Park that day/night. Of all 24 calypsonians Scrunter had the loudest cheers. When he was done the crowd chanted his name. (of course, there was no encore because it was a competition...hahaha).

Nostalgia for my youth, good soca music with a stinging bassline and a relatively crime free paradise called trinidad. It brought a tear.

I love everything about this beautiful moment. To see my people so thoroughly enjoying themselves and our culture must NEVER be taken for granted. I am PARTICULARLY THRILLED by the Uncle in Red. The police officer gave him a gentle warning and Uncle Red politely complied. But there is a major problem - Scrunter has freed Uncle Red's soul from the restraints of gravity and it has taken flight, dancing with pure sweetness. Where he gone, even Uncle Red does not know for sure. His soul is in flight and his body is trying to follow it up into the stratosphere of pure joy. Uncle gone!!! Same thing for the crowd. The police officer might as well have been trying to stop the winds and clouds of a hurricane with a glare & a stare. Pure joy.

@asiba2 Glory Years....meaning those were the best years of Soca in my opinion. Soca was still in it's infancy so it was new, fresh, innovative and glorious!!!! The best of the best of Soca classics were composed between 1978 and 1986. Again , this statement is based on my opinion and taste in music.
