Mike, you're an absolute legend and I cannot thank you enough. I'm sure you've saved so many beautiful old cameras from ending up sitting on shelves or in dumpsters. So many times I've picked up broken lenses or cameras and figured "there's no way Mike has a video on this" and yet here you are, surprising me almost every time. Most recently you helped me fix multiple lenses for my Mamiya RB67, helped me fix a sticky shutter on an Olympus Pen EES-2, helped me disassemble multiple Canon FDs to remove fungus, and now I have no doubt I'll be able to get my Pen-F functioning perfectly as well. I'm always so much more confident in my repair abilities when I know I have you to warn me of any little pitfalls or issues I may encounter along the way, and I'm sure thousands of others feel the exact same way. Thank you thank you thank you!
If you take the lens off and shoot it, does the mirror also stuck? Mine was shooting correctly without a lens. I only had to take the bottom cover of and oiled the shooting mechanism there. It works all fine now.
@@djverloo hi I have the same problem but the aperture mechanism is fine. So my question is how would the lens affect the shutter sticking? And where did you oil exactly?
This video give me flasbacks of the nightmares I had when I repaired my F without setting the marks. It took me many many many attempts to put it back together again. My F had a broken spring inside the sprocket which tensions the mirror actuation. Also have a FT and they are very different machanically i.e. parts are not interchangeable. FYI my precious F is still working today! Had to go to hell and back to get it working again though LOL.
Hello, I am having an issue with my Pen F in that the advance lever will not move and the shutter release button will not make the shutter actually function. I have opened up both the top and bottom plates and can observe the necessary components working there but otherwise I cannot diagnose what the actual problem is. Would anyone be able to help me with this?
Hello Mike, would you by any chance have a video for the Olympus PEN-FV because my film advance lever is stuck. It won't advance. It also appears that the rewind button is depressed and won't pop back out. Please let me know. Thank you.

thanks for the video, my Olympus's mirror is stuck at shooting position and i'm using your video as a reference to fix the camera!

The leather on mine was sooooo tight glued, hardest leather replace ever made, and i did service 3000+ cameras.
Very good and detailed video. Do you think it would be enough to be able to dissemble a Pen FT from watching this? They must be fairly similar.
Do you know if the rewind knob from a Pen EED would be compatible with this camera? I'm not sure if the threads from the knob would match the post.
