The two Major Fixes that will have me playing the game again: pets not pushing me off stairways to push me to my death, and disappearing pets loaded with goods.
"Oh get more health" is a pretty pathetic dev response to requests for some kind of balancing of incoming damage
I use two +max hps and have fully upgraded my health with the past 2 new game pluses ive done and yet ive gotten one shot by a infused fire ant 😐
I would personally REALLY like to be able to upgrade armors higher than lvl 9. I can't say for the infused ooze farming yet cuz i have not even reached NG+ and i honestly dread it with the life/dmg buffs that the insects get. I would also really like to see building's health scale with NG+. building pieces are geting shred by raids even in first playthrough.
It is fun! Lol I think it's more made for ppl that like challenges bc they do get hard n I'm still in ng 1😭😭 tier 3 armor is ur bestie and don't rush it farm all u need before going to ng (meaning if u want boss weapons or armor do it in base game then move on) this was my mistake and I am getted beat baddd by broodmother...
I just think they didn’t let armour get upgraded more cause it basically forces you to max out your health every new ng+ with molars which just keeps you in each ng+ a little longer which ultimately will help you be more ready for the next ng+ (you NEED to max out your health every ng+ it genuinely is a must)
According to the wiki enemy damage and health both increase by 70% every new game+ level. I've gotten far into NG+1 and it's fine, other than bosses. Mantis is ridiculous, full armor and max health but I still get killed in one hit. Wasp Queen is probably just impossible on Woah in later NG+ levels, I stopped playing on Woah just because of the queen before NG+.
If enemy health and damage are both going to be increasing infinitely and at such a high percent increase every level, there's not going to be any point to going late into it. I think the increases should be lowered so it's more reasonable, at least for bosses. Infused bugs are great though in my opinion, I just think the hp/dmg increases are excessive. Increasing numbers does not make fun difficulty, even in a new game+ format.
There are two ways NG+ could be made more fun. Either lower the increases to something more reasonable like 30-50%, or allow further upgrading armor, but weapons and armor can be upgraded infinitely past level 9 instead of only to level 15. That way you can put in the work and grind to upgrade your equipment. It would get incredibly expensive over time, but it would at least be a way to get more powerful. I think regardless though, you should be able to upgrade armor, the hp and dmg increases should be lowered at least a bit, and you should be able to further upgrade weapons. Maybe even a way to fight non-infused bosses, either with a simplified bait, or making infused bosses require the bait to be infused. Fighting a full HP wasp during the Wasp Queen fight just sounds like a genuinely bad time, and I already find the fight to be unfair and badly designed.
I'm going through a Solo/Whoa Mode NG+. I'm currently on NG+2 and while I see my damage increasing drastically, it's becoming more and more common where most attacks will one shot me. I like a challenge, but holy crap.. it's going to get to a point where you have to play PERFECTLY with ZERO error and that's just not feasible.
Ah you pretty much summed it up. The grind for infused ooze and reduced 'joy' in repeatedly having the intense boss fights. Its overwhelmin feelin like button bashing instead of customizing upgrade paths. On the outside it all looks modifiable and open to individual styles of play, but its effectively on rails forcing it to a grind against random chance of what type of infusement the bosses will have as too, what trinkets you pick up and when. No chance to purchase and upgrade all weapons to find out which works best and when - 10 fusion crystals = a chunk of repetitive grind. Thats not gameplay anymore is it?
Either nerf the modifiers damage (like sour / infused venom) or give us a mutation that reduces damage taken from infused creatures. This is all i want.
Damage resist trinket is a must in ng+ I have found it is the only way to not get one shot. I also combine it with an infused weapon with damage resist. You can take almost 0 damage with this combo.
My aphid pet still keeps falling through flooring in base on pond and he ends up at bottom of pond and only leaves when u have follow u.
I love the abiltiy to go into NG+, ive been dying for this since 1.0 as the game needed it bad for replayabilty but my main issue is the combat in the game was based on skill previously, learn the attack patterns and get good at blocking and the games fairly easy. now in NG+ thats been removed because theres attacks you cannot block that have massive AOE which spawns the infused staff effects and those are unblockable so it really took a skill based battle system to a re roll the boss till it doesnt spawn with sour, spicy or explosive etc, and once you get to NG+3 you are pretty much guaranteed to get all those options on each boss so you just insta die no matter what, i used to play on whoa and have been forced to play on mild mostly now which sucks. feels like the game needs a dodge roll of some kind now as you cant get away from the staff effects in an effective way since their range is absolutely massive. I love a good challenge and love souls like games but the new combat just isn't that, you cant learn the attacks and get better, its all RNG at this point sadly, and even the hardest bosses in souls or elden ring dont one shot you so you always have a bit of a chance if you can time things correctly and play patiently.

@@Khaizen10 I didnt mean you cant learn the attack patterns literally, im saying that the old system before NG+ was about learning the attack pattern and blocking correctly, with the current infused attacks its no longer like a dark souls game thats very difficult but you can learn the attack pattern and improve as im in NG+4 now and i know the patterns very well at this point, example when the mantis slams its an AOE attack you cant block and when it hits you then multiple staff infusions go off and you instantly die. there are still blockable attacks but so much of the boss fights now is just RNG because of the infusions. it took a well balanced combat system based on perfect blocking and skill and moved away from that and is now added a large amount RNG.
@@TimberBuilds mantis isn’t too hard when you learn the attack patterns. Fight it around the tree so if it jumps you can dodge. If you see it’s going to do the AOE slam combo just move away. When it does the rapid combo where it keeps hitting its claws against the ground you can still perfect block it. The only thing that’s almost impossible to avoid is the scream, which is almost harmless unless it has venom.
@@Khaizen10 the issue im speaking of is more to the RNG where yeah sure its easy to run away but nobody is perfecting those fights and the majority of the attack will insta kill you on medium and whoa mode so as soon as you get slowed by the frost staff effect theres no running away from two mantis's ha.
@@TimberBuilds after around 15 fights with it you should be able to do it pretty easily. Just dodge by going around the tree and perfect block everything else. The scream cant freeze you or anything so it’s not a problem. How is that RNG? You mean the effects the mantis gets?
+ other later upgrades will get more expensive but gives an even better buff like instad of 15% dmg a durability, 20% or 30% when it start to cost more than 20 fusion crystals just to make upgrading has more purpose

So everyone knows about the mant transportation thing where you get a mant statue and you put it into smash mode and then you get on top of its antennas and then you put it to none and it flings you across the map. It’s very easy to do when I’m doing it. I see that the tree is like sometimes unloading, and you can see like the void. Nintendo switch.
This could just be the way I play, but I haven’t really had an issue with the amount of upgrades I have. I’ve just sped my way through to ng+4 where you can basically an entire fusion crystal from killing two mites, and now I have hundreds of crystals just from progressing through each ng+.
I lost a pet holding every single one of my trinkets this way and I was pretty upset I don't remember the trinkets being in the beta as far as I played but the simple fact that I lost all my trinkets because I couldn't find my pet it was really confusing
Guys i need to teel you someting i just fought a infused Broodmother and when you perfect block the scream the damage debuff does not hit you anymore
My pet gnat still bumps me around as of yesterday. I actually wanted to fet rid of it. It's rubbish. Also when it's in it's pet house, it doesn't actually go in. Jyst hovers behind it. Anyway cheers for rhe update matey!

Your right about the armor. At least in new game+ you should be able to upgrade your armor to at least 13

I think you got the right idea. Seems like the new weapons were only half the equation, redressed or improved armors seem necessary.
using the new weapon upgrade thing and making a weapon max level would instantly kill any boss(including the brood mother) if they weren't infused
I'm on PS5 new game plus 2 when I save I get a error message saying something went wrong and the game don't save I look it up can't find no where how to fix it
So im in NG +2 both in a multiplayer game and a solo game. The mantis is the worst for me(not counting IBM) but i have managed to preserve through all the bosses (ibm again not counted) to reach ng2. I haven't tried any of them in ng 2 yet besides schmecter and the mant. A lot of it is dying, reloading, snd hoping for a good set of infusions. I likely wont play beyond ng 4 however because at that point whats in it for me.
I've probably had a harder time than some because ive yet to change off of the widow set also

My ants stopped giving me my carry buff before they vanished yesterday, so don’t think they fixed pets.
Honestly for me, taking on the the infused mantis is the most dreading in ng+, the others are predictable to me but mantis is so random and some how kills me 26 times before i win once, but after awhile i got used to it and camped at the tree and kept killing it, so basically i just better armor improvements, its all i need por favor
Even if I have damage resist on trinket and weapon with full roly poly armor I get one shot by infused creatures in ng+5 (Woah). Kinda ridiculous. You get +630 hp in ng+5 and each damage resist effect reduces your damage taken by 50%. That means the creatures are doing thousands of damage.
Which is impossible at ng+5. 70% attack times 5 = 350%. Max damage attack is 200 or something at base. 200 + 350% = 900 which should get reduced a lot by damage resist trinkets and armor. I forgot you said woah while I was typing this but oh well. Woah mode ng+5 should be insane anyways.
@@Khaizen10 Yes I think it should be impossible aswell. I guess it depends on what the infused bug is, if they have explosive and elemental attacks I'm getting totally obliterated (Tried this in javamatic yesterday). I know ng+5 on woah should be insane, but not too unfair. Even if you miss one parry you die instantly and there could be multiple enemies attacking you at the same time.
I have watched grounded since when it was released and just started playing on PS5 and when I got to ng and faced the undershed black widow I realized that in ng+2 I’m not gonna stand really a chance, and I started in creative and when I discovered the yoking station and I couldn’t upgrade armor I was like🤔🤔😔 and it took so long just to get 5 fusion crystals and not to mention I have to put boss fights on mild to stand a chance and I want to play on medium, and I fear doing other cycles because of green orbs and mint and I really want to stop using the acid edge I want to use the pepper flake and use different armors to beat bosses without using the same armor set
I will say, I enjoy playing it. I’m PC. Been playing for a very long time now. NG+ was actually fun for me. But my major issue was really the removal of the ability to grind to gain the upper hand on your enemies. It feels like NG+ removes all the fun of the game. Some weirdly crafted weapons with odd and random powers and a dedication to making players grind out molars feels like a scam for my time. Armor being upgraded feels like a necessity because it would give the player back the ability to truly dominate after significant grind. I understand the push to gain skill and trusting yourself with the combat mechanics. But I’d say a lot of players are NOT paralyzer. And 100% none of them are CDinky. Most of the hype will die off in a month or two once all these new players hit ng1 and realize the grind feels pointless. But hey. That’s just my 2 cents.
i had the ps5 save data issue at 800 days . . . . its a very welcome patch for me much more enjoyable again
I would really like a dodge roll mechanic
The main issue is that the elemental effects should scale with how much damage the creature does. That and the sour effect making you stumble should be completely taken out of the game because it practically stun locks the player while doing ridiculous amounts of damage (This could be even the case with something as small as a spiderling) Whereas if the spiderlings elemental damage was the same as its normal attack damage it would fit and make more sense.
It feels like this last update was just made to send the game off and wasnt done properly, armour should be able to upgrade after ng3, bosses should be tweaked, tier 4 weapons should've had unique designs and trinkets should be combines in a mixer. I love this game but remixed has left a bad taste, and that sucks.
The saves switching still happens
One thing I wish the devs would change is how difficult the IBM is in ng+ because she is very difficult in the 1st remix and it's near impossible to kill her as I've tried over 100 times to try and kill her but every time I either die at the end of her 2nd phase or the start of her 3rd phase, I just wish it wasn't as difficult and if they changed that then it would be an amazing game
Was I behind a patch? According to the wiki, and my data tab, all ant pets were identical, yet since the latest patch my black ant pet gives damage resist? Also has been happy for 4 in game days without feeding? I feel like there were pet changes we didn't hear about.

@@kalidawg29The problem is the bosses are not actually that hard. But it's the effects they have that makes them almost impossible to beat. Even if you miss one parry, you get demolished by elemental effects and that's not very balanced
What do we gotta do to get another boss 😢 and some more bugs make the game feel like life again

Hey jade I see you’re having trouble with the mantis and my build with the sour battle axe let’s me kill the mantis pretty quickly if I parry correctly and I don’t even mark the mantis but the trinket that really helps is mantis damage up and implant weakness sour and it does a TON of damage at the beginning
TLDR use these mutations coup trapr shocking diss corp kick and chopper
Waffle or trinket, mantis damage and sour implant
Armor the brood armor head piece sleek fire ant guards bulk (or chest plate thing) and pants assassins greaves bulk
Health doesn't help. i always max out health first but it is NOT enough. Armor needs to be upgradeable, sour wrecks you completely, esp. in tunnels. the dmg-spikes in ng+ is over the top. stopped playing in ng+2 b/c of this
What difficulty setting is this video referring too? Even on Mild it's this hard?

When I was in NG+2 (Woah) I used Acid edge level 15 and a decent trinket with sour dmg up best. You can try that combo and I belive you will be able to defeat Mantis!

Grounded was once my favorite game. I played it through over and over, and loved building enormous bases. I honestly feel like they're ruined the game. So many of the newer updates have added so much the I cannot stand.
Weapons and armor changes I dislike. Base raids were one of the worst for me, since I spend IRL weeks building my bases and was proud of them. I don't want things smashing them up. Single use tufts? What the heck is that? Especially when games like Smalland give you gliders (wings) that last forever.
I have been too afraid to start over now. I think it's all just too much and has become too difficult and frustrating for someone like me.
Just my two cents.
Mods are the answer to all these issues, base game is just amazing in general
Yeah personally I've simply been reloading my save file every time a raid is announced. The game autosaves right before the raid happens and when you reload, there's a short period when it won't happen again. I also made a dummy base where I go when I know I'm going to be raided so when it happens, I'm at my dummy base. I got one on top of the wooden fence thingy for ground raids which the ground bugs can't reach. I'll likely make another base somewhere else where flying bugs either can't reach it, or I'll make it so small that I won't care if it gets destroyed.
Sucks we have to play like this, though.
Alternatively you can enable Custom Difficulty and turn off raids. It does disable achievements unfortunately but what you could do is get 100% of the achievements and then as a 'reward' disable raids for 100%ing the game. While you're on Custom Difficulty you might as well turn on the Handy Gnat if you're not planning on doing NG+. Super handy for base building but it can be gotten by also starting NG+.
@@QPoily Achievements are great but honestly ive reached a point in gaming where they no longer matter over just having fun. More often than not i just prefer to mod out a problem then endure it. To be fair people love achievement farming so its fun as well for them
@AintNoJustice Thats totally fair as well. My suggestion was mainly for people who want to solve these issues with features provided by the game itself. Mods are also a perfectly fine solution.

This game died for me once I hit NG+3. Cant enjoy it anymore. They should made it once ya hit NG+2 you could get the boss weapons. Game was great and had alot fun
no new recipe for staves only melee , no infused staves only melee and bows. acid one doesnt scale well

grounded has just been boring recently so i've just been playing Ark Ascended on the Center and its been really fun especially with the evo rex and giga mod.
Update sucks obsidian give us a little more content a few more new enemy types and another mashup boss like the mant please and a few new mutations

NG+ is extremely grindy and does need balancing. I agree with all the observations, particularly the lack of upgrading armour beyond level 9, although it’s already a ball ache to upgrade weapons. Hopefully they will take the feedback.

That is total BS and you know it. Plenty of other people and streamers have beaten these bosses with various sets, pieces, and weapons. You do not need to use the same stuff all the time.
Are there "meta sets", sure. Happens in all games. But my meta set depends on if I'm using Veronica (crossbow) or Splozy (Fire staff) or perhaps Pedro (Coaltana). Boss hardly matters to me for gear other than head piece and trinket. Head piece us either Marksman Cap or Wizard Hat. Trinket is boss or weapon dependent. Body = Moth Robe. Boots = Aphid Slippers (Moth boots if I remember to switch for boss fights).
Why so rude calm yaself, Other streamers have All used exploited armor sets that got quickly nerfed. Of course some really skilled players are using different sets, and in regular grounded it's easier to use different sets, but unless your a perfect player, roly poly is now the only set that just about tank some of the sets. Trinkets are all luck based and shouldn't be part of the convo
This patch is a joke. Im sorry to say this about such hardworking and seemingly amazing devs, but this was too much of a wait just to get a fraction of the bugs that need to be fixed. Not to mention that many fixes shouldnt take long at all to make, and patches don't have to be weeks apart.
Nonetheless, i still respect the devs, but the wait for this patch was extensive.

Dude this is the worst update ever the developers are keeping the good content for them selves or just being stingy no new enemy types to try your new weapons or armor on no new bosses no new content no hidden content no new mutations we need more bosses and enemy types like the mant and I think the mant should still spawn around the yard at nigh give you sort of a stalker feeling would be cool but we need new bosses like the mant more mashes no new balancesssss
