The ghazal was originally written by Naseer Turabi after Bangladesh independence and the ‘Hamsafar’ being referred to in it was originally East Pakistan.
It's one of the best OST of Pakistani serial "Humsafar" it self a blockbuster and one of the reason was this OST. It has the best lyrics for any OST in Pakistan so deep and meaning full. When the drama was on air this OST was sung and listen everywhere.
I wish you could understand the lyrics which are the real essence of this song. The poetry used in this OST is my all time fav. I would prefer if you guys try to find lyrics with translation some where because it's a master piece you guys should must try to understand .

Ahhh.. thank you for reacting on this ost..this video took me back to 2011 when this drama was on air...people used to be crazy about this drama,this ost and it's lead couple ashar and khired played by Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan...after this many popular dramas came but still nothing can compete this ... surely one of the best ost and drama Pakistani drama industry has ever produced..

You know Naseer Turabi wrote 'Woh Humsafar Tha' about what is Bangladesh today. When he got news of the fall of Dhaka on 16th December 1971, Turabi was in his office and began uncontrollably crying. He then wrote this ghazal, expressing his sentiments about the situation.
