Millennials, take a good listen. This is REAL MUSIC! This is timeless and one of the most beautiful melodies ever written. I feel for you, that you did NOT get the music education in grade school, high school like I did. I did not get a degree in piano, but got into design/drafting to make a living. My other part of my career studying the Piano: yes Chopin Nocturnes, Brahms Intermezzi, and the like. That foundation laid me to be immersed in love with music. I was happier coming home playing the piano after work than my own day job. I grew up in the 1970's. Rock concerts. Jazz clubs, Symphonies, were all at my fingertips. Please youngsters listen and pick up a flute so you can play this Elegy. Get lessons from a really good teacher. Go out to the park, and lay a blanket out, bring a little piggyback amplifier that runs off batteries and play for yourself, and play for others in the park to bring joy and love and connection. Make others happy. This is heaven right here!!!!!
Jethro Tull is forever and the best band in the progressive rock history, in this performance you can also see Johnattan Noyce, the last Jethro Tull bassist .
Classic Tull tune! A Master wishes to play a song with you.........IAN is most definitely a Master! I recognize his bass player from Tull. He’s cool! Ian can go anywhere anytime. He plays a loud flute. No microphone necessary! He’s a whole show in one!
The second instrumental piece from the album STORMWATCH, composed by David Palmer. Elegy also has a lyrics, which Palmer himself sang on an album he recorded in the early 1990s. Although many fans associate Elegy with the suffering and death of John Glascock, it is likely that it was composed by Palmer in memory of his recently deceased father.
amazing. this is one of my favorite tull songs but i still cant understand how some think that your average drum kit fits in orchestrated arrange / music. I would've loved if they just used orchestra percussion instead of drums. to me the sound is just too loud and in this case could be actually considered as solo instrument.

A Masterpiece!!!!!!!!
너무 아름답고
슬픔이 밀려와서 참을 수가 없다
Heavenly music... sorely needed in this modern, cold, heartless world. In some quarters though, the heart still rules.
I agree with you
Better words couldn't be expressed.👏👏👏
👏👏👏🔥❤️
I couldn't agree more.

Too sweet to stop
Ian Anderson isn't just a flute playing rock star, but sounds great with a proper orchestra.
What is the name of this work and who is its composer
