While most comments are about Clapton and this song I wanted to add one about the fellow on the keyboard who deserves a 👍 imo! As an almost 70 yr old, classically trained pianist and organist since I was 5, I think he’s very good, and enjoy watching HIM play 🎹 as well. This is one of those songs/videos (now) that brings back so many great memories of my youth, and the terrific music we ‘Baby Boomers’ had growing up! (Once I was older, and no longer ‘dictated’ by my parents and instructors at the music academy where I studied as to what I could and couldn’t play, LAYLA and COCAINE were 2 of my favorite non-classical, aka ‘rock’, songs I did!) Clapton’s STILL one of my all time favorite 🎸🎤ist’s!
@@hiwind58 IDK where they got that info, but IIRC it was someone else playing the 🎹 in THIS video - not Preston. (It might have been under the ‘more info’ section of this, or another done from the same concert.) I’d have to check to be sure of his name. * I do however recall watching a video with both of them doing a duet of ‘My Sweet Lord’.
@@hiwind58There are two keyboard players: Tim Carmon and Billy Preston.
Billy Preston, the black gentleman in the blue shirt playing the organ. The other keyboard player was playing piano.
I absolutely adore his bass player. He has been with EC for a long time and his personality shines through!!
Nathan East : on eof the greatest bass players of music . He played with several other artists like Stevie Wonder ...
@@ruggeroromano6028 Like Albert Lee.I've been lucky to have see them live, to see them playing Cocaine then a 10 mins guitar thenLayla
Nathan East is fantastic. Check out his playing on Fourplay’s “Live in Cape Town”.
I used to play this song every morning when I owned a drugstore in the 80s
Clapton is one of those few artists who sounds even better live than on studio recordings.
Is there any type of music Eric Clapton can't do? What a massive talent.
Eric's voice is so distinctive, powerful with great clarity!
Awesome Clapton performance and that keyboard solo at the end was right on!
Billy Preston. He was sorta good. The Beatles let him play with them when they did the video from the roof.
❤ Eric! Love Nathan East on bass!🎸
The whole "One More Car One More Rider" is amazing, I mean all the songs are perfectly done and every solo from Clapton and Priston is tip top.
I’ve had that album for awhile and I really missed it when I got it. Some of EC’s best, and Steve Gadd is lights out, raise-the-hair-on-your-arms good.
I am not into drugs but love the music cocaine and it has a good beat
Priscilla Williams that's why he says that dirty cocaine when he got sober he started adding it to the song. So not to publicize it as a good thing but you let people know not to do it. He actually stopped doing the song for a bit but people were getting upset so he added it back to his shows and just added the dirty cocaine part
Priscilla Williams ...I understand - At least it would appear that " she" whoever she is...does NOT like it...! Good lyrics...
Eric zaista ima dušu a to se osjeća u njegovoj izvedbi. Go Eric, go.
One of the most talented artist. Great performance and a living legend. Love you Eric Clapton.
I remember playing this song and not being able to solo over it properly. I just didn't have the proper feel and phrasing as a young guitarist. Eric's playing is so "in the pocket" and every note counts. I'm a bit better after working on it for decades! I am not a blues guitarist at all but am influenced by it. There are so many blues gun slingers out there but they often can't match the pure feel and MUSICALITY in EC's playing. They have a ton of fast licks but speed ain't nothing without class. Long Live EC, the King of Rock Blues! Riding With The King is one our favorites too! Thanks Mr. Clapton and keep it rolling! ~Rico Monaco
For me, still the best guitarist of all time and there have been a lot of great ones!
Wow! What a great song. What a great band. What a tight sound. What great musicians. What great talent. It just doesn't get any better than this. This is phenomenal, legendary, classic rock. Thanks Eric Clapton and band. You guys rock!
Having Billy Preston in his band was one of the best moves Clapton ever made!! :-)
Yes. That’s a helluva lineup Steve Gadd, Andy Fairweather Lowe, Nathan East, Preston are all amazing in their own right.
@@soundadvicebillyeah. You just about need a smoke after listening to them.
Amazing! Clapton killed it
This song really is like cocaine! Once you hear it you can't stop listening to it! :)
I remember walking home from school singing this song. I want to say 1975ish. Loved the song back then, love it now just as much...

Eric le pega a las cuerdas con la pua, con una fuerza...genial, un maestro LEYENDA
Mi favorita tremendo clásico!
Wow, in my opinion Billy Preston totally stole the scene with that keyboard solo. R.I.P.
The music is so great, thanks for sharing it with us, love you! Wishing everyone a happy working day and luck
Unul dintre cei mai mari artisti ai lumii !
muito boa musica .
Hunters Song! White House style!
ALL this Brit talent almost "knocks-me-out" ... I'm SO PROUD (as a fellow Brit) to have these guys as my fellow countrymen - Keep-it-BRITISH!!!!
That includes Mark Knofler and "Dire Straits" + the *Late and Great* Freddy Mercury* and Queen!!! WHO ELSE IS GOING TO *ROCK YOU*???
There is Soooooo much *TALENT* in the UK ... That it is some times - IMPOSSIBLE to comprehend!!! I grew-up in the 60's and the UK talent "Pool" was *Mind Boggling* then!!!!
Eric Clapton is probably the best performers ever
Deadly dull. Barely any spark of life in him onstage for decades.
The Great Billy Preston!!! RIP!
Are you sure that's Billy Preston? They should identify the band members when uploading concert footage.
@@makeadifference4all it’s definitely billy Preston, he played one of his songs in this same concert
Wow! What a great song. What a great band. What a tight sound. What great musicians. What great talent. It just doesn't get any better than this. This is phenomenal, legendary, classic rock. Thanks Eric Clapton and band. You guys rock!💖💖💖💖💖💖

This is what you call pure talent!
A statement ....some great music!! one of my favorites!!!
Just relaxing .,Chillen with Cllapton ''Hell yes !!!!
For those who still don't know the members of this Eric Clapton Band, these the best musicians in the whole world: Hammond organ: Billy Preston (passed away in 2006) - Drums: Steve Gadd - Bass: Nathan East - Piano: David Sancious - Guitar: Andy Fairweather-Low. Maybe George Clooney was there, in the audience...
2:45 Meta de relacionamento: ser esse titio curtindo eric clapton com uma morena junto :p
Lubię,cholernie lubię! Tak jak kiedyś koks lubiłem.
The first song that made me get to know Eric. It's better to hear it after a long time. Eric, I love you.👍👍👍❤️❤️🎸🎸🇯🇵

thx! to jj. and eric c. and you so much!
Thank You!=) Nice.. I mean Awesome. Ooho. Woow... 👍☺
i pity these poor children with starshine in their eyes
I totally get that. Cocaine in Miami in the 80s was disgustingly rampart . Close to half the population seemed enthralled by speaking from experience
I van tell you that it gets you jigh once or at best 2 times. Afterbthat you're just chasing a dragon. You willllll never feel that feeling again Period So dont wasteyour tome and money on this or heroin. Diggerent drugs Dame ss hell demon that. Hades you sround trying to het the same effect but it wont vome
Dont believe me. Just read s .efical journal or if thTs too much Google it. ❤Just Dont fall into the trap straight from HELL. Im ,,,64 livefd thru 60s ,,80s and left Miami bevause eveywhere you went cocaine . The answer stayed the same NO. I learned my lesson
happy people. 😎 I wonder why? 🤣
Like always great Clapton
I'm sure if I ever tried COCAINE I would love this song much more!
what is wrong with me why have I not listened to this before
Because its Eric Clapton in what appears to be the 1990s playing one of his 70s classics. Most Baby Boomer era musicians did their finest work in the 70s, with a few exceptions like the Beatles who were a bit older and did their finest work in the 60s.
Why would you want to watch Eric Clapton in.... let's just guess... 1992.... when you could watch him in his prime performing the same song with all the vigor and uncouth brilliance of a young man in his prime and with a younger crowd much more likely to be dancing with the uninhibited delight that youth is so naturally tied to; especially THAT PARTICULAR ERA of youth.
It's like when my sister would rave about how amazing all those Dead shows she went to in the 1990s were....
Because she was tripping her face off. There is no one who can love and studied the Dead much more than I but I am also not a sentimental fool.
Go back and listen to the live Dead recordings in the 1990s... Vince Welnicks Casio Synth contributions alone constitute crimes against humanity. Jerry slowly falling apart on stage also did not improve his singing and playing as you can imagine. All drummers are crazy. Their drummers are EXTRA CRAZY... since long before the enough to supply an army levels of LSD, NEARLY RAW COCAINE AND BLACK PERSIAN DOPE. Allowing two drummers THAT CRAZY and THAT HIGH to both have bass pedal drums is not a practical idea unless you want your rythm section to sound like sneakers in the dryer.
Point being there is a perfectly good reason you have not watched this before. There is actually no good reason TO watch one of the least unique/most over rated guitar heroes in the history of Rock and Roll play half ass versions of his classics when he is past his prime.
I prefer to watch performers at or near their peak levels of genius, not 20 years later while they are milking money out of their greatest hits tours and literally dont even remember what playing music is really about after so many years wandering back and forth between rehabs, wives, bands, etc...
in the unfiltered Enabler/yes man/ "posse" echo chamber that their careers sadly so often degenerate into...
Plenty of good reasons. Watch him in 77 or 75 or 70 or 71....
MAJOR EXCEPTION TO RULE : Tom Petty is a younger boomer but he sure as hell ain't gen X. And he made his finest album Wildflowers in 1994. Every rule has exceptions
Grandiosa versión
wonderful
I'm gay
Renan Quintana yeah he has been a bit weird whenever i flash my cock around him lately
Suertudo el que te la chupe, seguro ahí tenes escondida la magia Eric...
Eric blues clapton is a fine good person soulfully a wizard a nice genius ever made . by the maker.
Cocaine is one of my favorites amount all his great other songs, great band to
Love to see Huge Laurie and George Clooney (drums) playing together.
I just had an AWESOME idea! I totally would LOVE to see Hugh Laurie portray Clapton in a movie! :)
+coy clown
hugh laurie, although extremely good, doesn't have the right voice to portray mr. clapton. that, that i've seen of mr. laurie they have completely different styles and wood be hard tooo imagine him as mr. clapton. mr. laurie's stature is not anywhere similar tooo mr. clapton.
enjoy the day.
sldc
True, however I feel that he has the right over all look for Clapton. The voice can be dubbed over by Clapton himself; speaking and singing.
I might suggest for the young eric embodiment I feel Josh groban he has the right look and he happens tooo be a singer songwriter and an actor on broadway. However the draw back is he is a professionally trained signer and tends tooo be theatrical in vocals but, he did do a few songs t h at show his range. Please look and listen and should you desire I wood like tooo hear your views.
sldc ERIC meye honey🍯
Purrrrfect!!!!!!!!!
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
listening to this on my way to Colombia .
