I think Laura needs a fourth category called “UNSTARTED.” Then she could reward herself with a finish from started to middle category with a new start. And she could get a better category for the fully-kitted things in the queue. ❤

What a fabulous video! And a big thank you to Laura’s mom for stitching my lark design. But most importantly, you stated what we all believe. I can’t imagine my life with out stitching. It has been life changing and life enriching, and aren’t we lucky to share this passion with so many people who feel the same way! The most precious gift is the friends from near and far who have come into our lives. Just priceless! Thank you to you both for the joy that you share every week with all,of us. 🤗🥰

What a wonderful way to end another great video. I’m an old guy but new to stitching and so far I’m loving it. Each one of your videos winds up with about two pages of notes to look up samplers, flosstubes and more. Thank you so much for the inspiration (and chuckles) you always give.

Oh how I wish I could stitch with you twp every day! Brenda, I loved your message about the joy of stitching. I have been stitching 40+ years with a few breaks when jobs, caring for parents, and life got too hectic, but since retiring, I stitch every single day, as long as I possibly can. I have no one to leave my stitching to after I am gone, but have made it clear that when they see all the time/money/thread/fabric spent they should realize that all my pieces are a tribute to the joy I felt living my life and how much every single stitch was important to me as a comfort and a time to reflect on all the joy in my life. I am so thankful for FlossTube and all the friendships I have created along the way. Laura, I love your new resolve to organize & have goals that will give you beautiful finishes and the joy that comes with a finished piece. (I think we may have to remove the "serial starter" tag and find another more appropriate name!) Love you both! xoxoxo

I’ve loved stitching ever since I learned how when I was in first grade. I wish I still had those early pieces but sadly many are long gone lived out their lives for my mom used them all for what they were intended for (doilies, shawls, runners, pillow cases, et .) until they were torn and unrecognizable. But I still stitch, knit, crochet, needlepoint, bead… it’s therapeutic. Laura, glad to see the serial stitcher back but of course will always cheer your finishes. You’re just plain amazing, Brenda. Take care!

I’ve been stitching for about 40 years as well. My aunt taught me when I was a teen. I’ve got boxes of framed finishes and a couple of boxes waiting to be FFOd. Stitching is truly my therapy. I stitch everyday before I head to school and again when I get home. When my boys were teens they figured me out, both of them and my husband would actually tell me to go stitch when I got stressed, mad or frustrated. Worked every time to help me relax. They both have stitched pieces in their homes and have mentioned pieces they would like to have someday. Forever a stitcher I will be. Thank you for being an inspiration to the stitching community.

I have been watching you girls for about 2 yrs I think and I love you both more each time. You are both so real and I can relate to you both. This has to be one of my favorite videos. Laura’s collection of starts, middles and finishes was great especially as Brenda was trying to sort them and trying to be “firm” with how many Laura should have in each bag. My other favorite part was Brenda sharing her love of stitching. I look forward to all of your videos and have stitched a few of the same projects. I, too, have stitched for 40+ years…I am a 76 yr old great grandmother. Stitching is therapy and I do it daily as a way to relax. Watching Floss Tube is a great way to connect with other stitchers. I have spoken to Stephanie at Keepsakes (love her and Pam) and I have texted questions with Nicola. I am unable to go to retreats as I take care of my husband of 56+ yrs…, but I feel like I have “friends” that I have never met in person. You both are encouraging and fun and I love you both! May God bless you both as you share your love of needlework!❤️😍❤️

Brenda, I truly loved what you had to say about stitching. I picked it up again about three years ago and it’s gotten me through some very difficult times. I have a stressful job and I look forward to coming home every day to unwind with my needle and thread. Sometimes I feel guilty that I’m not doing more “important” things or that I’m just using my time and energy on something that will be tossed aside or forgotten one day. Then I remind myself that it brings me joy and recharges me for those things I must do!

I subscribe to the spiel! ❤ I really enjoy you both so much. Thank you again for another wonderful flosstube (therapy) session. I think running out of wall space is not a worry, it will all work out. The quilt rack was a great idea. I have many items rolled up stored away, I'm just going to get them out and figure it out. Usually when I finish a piece I leave it sort of hanging from the top of the couch so I can see it every time i pass by. I'm thinking now, I might just get some simple towel rod situation going and hang pieces from them until I figure out how I want them completely finished.

    Another fantastic video
I wanted to share how I waxed my threads , i start after my needle is threaded near my needle so I catch both threads ( that way my thread doesn’t unthread by itself) then I go down but stopped waxing about 1 1/2 inches from the end of the thread. This help to be wax free in my pin stitch, the pin stitch held strongly without the wax… and of course I slide my fingers down to remove any excess wax. I like to wax my cotton threads so they don’t get knotted

Thank you for your talk at the end of the flosstube Brenda. Only stitchers can understand what you said. Well I should qualify that, only creative people can. I once asked my husband how he could make it through life without being able to have the time or energy to do creative things at the end of his work day or how anyone could. He’s a “just the facts” kind of guy and said he didn’t have a choice. Well I won’t be livable if I didn’t find some small moments to stitch, quilt or create each day. Since I’m by the definition “elderly” now I can look back at my stitching or quilts and memories flood back as I see them. I remember the joys and the tears at the time I was making them. Oh how they have gotten me through what others would consider hard times yet those pieces grounded me during those time. The prayers, the thoughts and even the distractions they gave me. The joy of hearing the thread pull through the fabric, the joy looking at the finished pieces even though sometimes they even would drive me to tears. The lessons I learnt. My husband just this December had a surprise triple bypass and though I believe both of us have been through medical trauma I now have a sampler that will forever be my bypass sampler. Through the waiting, the medical emergencies post op, the trauma, the missing family Christmas get togethers those x’s tell the story of not just that but gratefulness to the Lord bringing us through not only the hospital stay but the continuing recovery at home and the joy of disaster averted. Thank you for your flosstube and the joy you bring as well as the community of stitchers you have made and the inspiration.

Brenda, Thank you so much about the beeswax tip for 100/3. I have just started the third line of wording on Mary Carter 1712 using the beeswax. I can tell after only 6 letters that I may actually have the ability to finish this huge piece. So much easier to stitch with the 100/3.

I have been watching since June 2023 That is when I began counted cross stitching, I was 83 years old, but I always wanted to do it. I took Fat quarter lessons and that changed my life.
I have done a lot of projects for me and family, whom are my biggest fans. The talk that Brenda did on this video got me where I live and think. Thank you for saying that just keep stitching no matter what. When i die, I don't really care what happens to my work, but I don't want to get thru a day and not stitch. I agree totally with your idea. If it makes you happy (which it does) just do it.

I also have been stitching at the 40 plus years mark and while there have been times when I didn't stitch much I have never been totally away from stitching. Best thing I ever did was when I retired 5 years ago to come back strong and get the things I couldn't afford before or didn't have time for. No regrets! I recognized the chart the little bunny Easter pin was from! I stitched the designs on 2 baby blankets for my children and one I put on the cutest pink seersucker maternity dress you ever saw. Still have it after 32 years. Lots of inspiration as always today. Gotta scurry over to Hobby House and take a peek at the HATS exclusive.

I come home from work and Jim has eaten his dinner and cleaned the kitchen so I relax and we watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune along with the evening news. I sit and stitch during the shows before bed. The friendship along the way last forever. You may not see someone for years and when you see each other it’s like you talked with them yesterday. Great job ladies…I need a Brenda to come and organize me too! Beautiful stitches. With market coming I am really setting myself a limit! I decided I would only get charts that have a meaning to me. What a testimony about a stitcher…it’s not how many are done, but that the process of stitching them, look how many life things you have stitched through. I had an accident a couple years ago and could not walk or get into my sewing room, I really needed something to keep my hands. Use, I could go on line and learn to cross stitch on flosstube found a store I could order a kit from and started there. I am a year and a half out from my accident and I am still cross stitching but I am also back to sewing again as well. Thank you for all the encouragement you two have given me.

Okay, Brenda and Laura! This was the BEST floss tube ever! I watch each and every one but this one had me laughing out loud, and laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Oh you both are so funny and so GOOD for the soul! Laura, you’re a real treat! I just can’t stop laughing when you say how much you just love something ( you love all of them😃😃😃) and when you take it out of the project bag, and there are a few stitches completed then Brenda chimes in and then I laugh even more! Gosh. We are all the same! And by the way all your pieces are lovely, but Brenda your newly framed piece is just incredible. Wow! And then, the grand finale with the pins you made for your daughters Brenda, was so very moving because my mother made so many things for me, and since she is now in Heaven, these are the treasures in my life. What you said at the end of
this Floss Tube was so emotional on so many levels…you are so right! It doesn’t matter what’s finished and what’s not, what matters is that we love
stitching (for me it’s stitching, quilting and knitting… imagine all my WIPS in all these categories, oh and yes needlepoint too) but Brenda, your words were so very deep rooted in your love and passion for needlework. It is therapy, it brings peace, serenity, contemplation, reflection and joy with each in and out with the needle. And yes, it is a legacy of who we are and it’s all very, very good. THANKYOU ladies for bringing such joy, laughter and knowledge about stitching into my life and to all the other stitchers who follow you and have truly become enamored with you and your floss tube. Please never stop making these. You are a breath of fresh air and an inspiration to all💕🪡🪡🪡✂️🪡🪡🥰

Omg, Brenda your talk on stitching and therapy hit me….i recently had surgery. I came home that evening and immediately went,to my chair still under the influence of anesthesia but there I sat stitching to start my recovery. Note. Don’t do stitching while coming off anesthesia since I frogged most of it the next day. It is calming, therapeutic and fun…..thank you for putting the love of stitching into words.

I'm framing Rachel Howells as I watch this - inspired to stitch it by seeing it on your walls. One sampler wall is nearly full (above and below my stairs off my dining room). If I ever ran out of wall space, I would consider putting framed pieces on the ceiling if I could figure out a way to secure them ! Maybe I'd do it on a sewing room ceiling !! Thanks for the inspiration.

I just went through my handknit/crocheted sweaters this week (trying to find space for them), and was feeling guilty. I have 58 and my friends and family think I'm out of my mind for having that many. But making them is my therapy. And I've met my best friends through knitting, so it's very worth it to me. ❤ JUST KEEP STITCHING.
