Connor actually did one of his "shorts" talking about his collab, saying He believes in God but has alot of doubt and questions. Just feels like he is on the verge of coming to know Jesus fully.
As a musician, no one ever taught me that "worshipping" God with my body is worship, according to Romans 12:1. As long as I was playing guitar, it was "worship." I come to learn that true gospel music is the testimony of those who have found the God of Jesus Christ as salvation over cultural idolatry. However, we've deceived people and ourselves with calling talent anointed and music worship, etc. Gospel music has the transformation power of God's word. "I surrender all" is testimony, not a song. Singing is a small nuance to worship, given we still have the rest of the body to submit besides our voice.
@b_ryc God truly wants to build disciples, evident by the 12 who walked with Jesus. And even then, betrayal and denial were among them. It's not about music and dope verses. It's about testimony and dope disciples. Bad priorities will always look the same, even if it calls itself "church."
I've been bumping that new Connor price song since he released it! I absolutely love the vulnerability and humility he showed it this song. Lord Jesus have mercy on our souls, and lead us into your kingdom!
There's a difference between "Christian music" and "Worship Music." Christian music could be about anything from the heart of a Christian, but worship music NEEDS to be about worship, the music takes a secondary role to worshiping God and serves to help lead people into a state of worship. Non-Christians collaborating on Christian music is a hit and miss kinda thing. But non-Christians collaborating on WORSHIP music doesn't make much sense. Do I wish EVERYONE would worship Jesus? Yes, and the Bible says that every knee WILL bow. But the truth is, you're bringing people in to lead worship that don't even believe in the God that's being worshipped. There's a big disconnect there.
That’s kind of what I was thinking when I think worship music that’s in the church setting Christian music is like people that are musicians that believe in God and they’re using their talents to share their testimony about what he’s done in their life
@ exactly you have to make it your own. I feel like some of the Christian artists. Are there cause they’re using the talents. God gave them and it’s their way to minister to people. It’s their way of fulfilling what scripture requires us in the end though we’re all gonna be standing in front of God someday and held accountable.
Forrest Frank has become my sons' favorite rapper (they are 5 and 3, respectively). His song, "Up", which features Connor Price, is one of their favorites (and a little bit of mine too). I assumed, ignorantly, that he was a believer because I didn't think Forrest would collab with secular and/or profane artists. I had no idea that Connor was a secular artist. It's great to hear that believers who are in his sphere are actively praying for him and sharing the gospel with him. He needs that wayyy more than a feature (present or future).

No, it is not appropriate for an artist or group who professes to practice their art for the Lord to have suggestive lyrics or double entendre in their music. It is letting the world influence you rather than you influencing the world. We must live in this world, but our deeds, thoughts and intentions must be in the light...that is, in the Kingdom of Light. We have no partnership with the kingdom of darkness and therefore can not be unequally yoked with that kingdom. We must seek to be found pleasing to the Lord and not men. Would you sing those lyrics before the Holy God?
@@jwright8838 I agree. I'm personally conflicted with this group and I pray for them to be making the right decisions. Connor's song carries a powerful message, and it's my prayer that Jesus will continue to illuminate the path for more people to come closer to the cross. My prayers are with all those who seek to encounter Christ in their lives.

That Conor price song is a good example of what music Christian artists can do if they must collaborate with a secular artists and not the usual...”blessings blessings pour on me” songs they almost always do with them.
Hey Ruslan, I just wanted to thank you for your UA-cam. I started watching you in 2020 when I stumbled on a video of you covering the presidential election. I appreciated you wanting to seek truth and a biblical worldview then and am grateful you’ve continued to do so, in even more ways.

I think the lyrics have a lot to do with it. If a christian artist collabs with a secular artist, it should be the christian pulling the secular up. Unfortunately, we have seen where the secular pulls the christian artist/group down like the Will Smith/Mav City collab. The lyrics were not God honoring.
Like a Christian girl going out with a non Christian guy hoping he will become a Christian…very rare this works out. Most times the girl compromises her faith and ends up out of fellowship etc. sorry but this world and it’s pleasures are temporary. What’s eternal matters most. These artists need to have an incredibly strong faith and solid Christian’s around them to keep them accountable and strong in their faith.

I love this recent collaboration with Connor Price. It is such a raw and honest conversation that a lot of people go through early in their faith journey.
God used Syria as a rod against Israel, but explicitly said Syria was still fully culpable. How would we not be fully culpable for our part in God's success, despite our wickedness? All that means is that God is the ultimate strategist, all wise, all knowing, He sees all. I would rather walk in faith, and glorify God, as I am called.
This is a sincere point of view on the subject matter. I believe God is using MC music to reach many lost souls that might not listen to the most powerful sermon you might think of. Lets pray that God will keep them in His will. I believe MC music is striving to reach souls in the music industry.
You present a great take on this situation. "I Need Help" is indeed amazing, but the Glorilla collab is so incredibly shameful. When Kirk Franklin shared the back cover in his Instagram stories, I was so confused and disappointed to see their names next to clearly a lustful woman. It's a lack of wisdom and clout chasing at its worst. We need to have more discernment when we collab with secular artists, which I'm fine with. But if the artist is so clearly leading people to sin such as adultery like Glorilla, then working with them is an absolute net negative, no matter how many worshipful or positive collaborations they put out. Just my thoughts on this. But you are very down to earth and the DMX point is interesting since he was instrumental in you being drawn to Jesus Christ.
Imo, songs with artists like Connor Price is where their strategy goes right, helping other artists outside of the Christian music industry break into it and learn to embrace a faith in Christ. But unfortunately, most of the time, that's not how their playbook ends up working out.
Actually, it isn’t. Don’t take it was kicked out because he posted new photos to his Instagram stories. It wasn’t simply for him being caught, listening to Bad Bunny. If he was just a bad bunny video then yeah it would be hypocritical but since that wasn’t the sole issue in the nude, photos is a much more glittering issue. It’s not the least bit hypocritical.
I’ll just leave this here. “When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”” Mark 2:16-17 NIV

It's weird because Miles Minnick is on a campaign to collab with secular artists, and for some reason I trust his intentions. But I'm not sure if I should.
It’s not about trusting Miles, it’s about trusting the Holy Spirit to guide you. If Miles does a collab, the Spirit might convict you not to listen to that song. It doesn’t mean that Miles is wrong for doing the song, it could be more indicative of your journey and where God has you in this season. Miles is working out his faith with fear and trembling in the public space. Extend grace and trust God.
my thing is some rappers like glorilla especially made songs with mav and kirk but turn around a continue to live a life of sin. ppl say they love God and pray everyday but still living life thru sin which doesn’t make sense. but i do feel like they doing it for the money
Hey Ruslan!! Another great video and take. I think you should review the song "never get used to this" by JVKE and Forrest Frank...that song is slept on!!!🔥🔥🔥
A new team formed over the summer where the goal is for inspiration artists to make more impact in the mainstream. That’s why you’re seeing more gospel and secular collaborations. This is just the beginning. More collaborations to come.
Romans 12:1 "is a verse in the Bible that encourages people to give their bodies to God as a living sacrifice and act of worship." Singing and worship are not the same.
Yeah and in a context of abstaining from sexual Immorality because our bodies is the temple of GOD and we are supposed to be His ambassadors on earth. 🙂

Good. It’s always healthy to have some skepticism. He also made a song with Mike Todd.
Yeah kind of stopped listening to him.. hopefully he brings it back a notch
@@crypto_chef9612what is wrong with him?
He’s assume, I wouldn’t say it’s wrong to collaborate with secular artists
It’s not about trusting Miles, it’s about trusting the Holy Spirit to guide you. If Miles does a collab, the Spirit might convict you not to listen to that song. It doesn’t mean that Miles is wrong for doing the song, it could be more indicative of your journey and where God has you in this season. Miles is working out his faith with fear and trembling in the public space. Extend grace and trust God.
Thank you for blurring out the bad images
Connor did records with Forest and Caleb. Not surprised, he also has great people around him
my thing is some rappers like glorilla especially made songs with mav and kirk but turn around a continue to live a life of sin. ppl say they love God and pray everyday but still living life thru sin which doesn’t make sense. but i do feel like they doing it for the money
I saw that Glorilla song on a Christian playlist on Spotify. I hid the song and never listened to that playlist again.
I also hid her on Spotify.
I like the Glorilla song.
I first would like to say thank you for doing this video. I was curious about your opinion on NF.
Hey Ruslan!! Another great video and take. I think you should review the song "never get used to this" by JVKE and Forrest Frank...that song is slept on!!!🔥🔥🔥
it's on repeat
Connor, I pray the Lord sends you help and meets you at your point of need. Your cry did not go in vain ❤
A new team formed over the summer where the goal is for inspiration artists to make more impact in the mainstream. That’s why you’re seeing more gospel and secular collaborations. This is just the beginning. More collaborations to come.
It’s Maverick City and Kirk’s team executive members involved.
Thanks for blurring the immodesty, so many Christian channels don’t brother, I end up having to stop watching because of it.
Romans 12:1 "is a verse in the Bible that encourages people to give their bodies to God as a living sacrifice and act of worship."
Singing and worship are not the same.
Yeah and in a context of abstaining from sexual Immorality because our bodies is the temple of GOD and we are supposed to be His ambassadors on earth. 🙂
Yeah, I Need Help is dope. Entirely different situation than Glorilla.
“Remember the days we smoked blunts together” the delivery 😂😂😂😂😂
Love that Conner Price song.
Well the way to convert the circular artist
Is to start small, this is a process. First it’s the collaboration and then the converting
So Ruslan, so i was thinking about this... i am promoter, dance teacher and dance judge in amature competition. But first i am a christian. So being in dance in Hip-Hop well i have often struggled with music content... a 6 year old is dancing to 50 cent candy shop. And since Snoop did a gospel album and kanye swayed for a time well there is a choice for christians. The content is changing and giving choice. NOW COMPETITIONS HAVE LECRAE BLURING LPUD AND IM LIKE YES, IT HAS GLORILLA IN CONTEMPORARY. BATTLES HAVE COMIN HOT
“ I need help “ don’t we all though?
“I Need Help” gives me mad “Never Land 2” vibes
For those who may need help! I have had such a struggle reading my Bible and understanding it. I found *heart dive by kanoe* here on UA-cam and she does an amazing job of reading the Bible and explaining the meaning of each passage. She goes through the entire Bible every year.
