    Don't forget your ground wire to the bridge. Take a straight edge down both sides of the neck and draw out those lines at the bridge location, then just center the bridge in the lines, easier than messing around trying to hold strings straight. Good job so far, remember don't rush the details, measure twice, then measure again.

    • @GuitarGoomba
      @GuitarGoomba  5 років тому

      I like the string method because I can see how the strings lay along the fretboard. Yes, measure 150 times, check your measurements, and measure again.

    Never built a bass or guitar yet, I was thinking of using a long straight edge against both sides of the neck to transfer bridge location? I think its cool that your giving the end result away, good for you!

      The logo will go on the neck plate again because of the custom paint.

  • @Morte_Deus
    @Morte_Deus 4 роки тому +5

    WHy didn't you just find the center line of the neck pocket and use a straight edege to the bottom of the bass for your center line for the bridge. THen use the measurement of the bottom of the neck heel and and use that measurement at the centerline of the bridge to center the bridge. Use a pencil and your making it way too complicated.

    When I set the bridge on my strat, I used a long straight edge to trace the prolongation of the neck on the tape. Then I just had to find the center of it and put the center of the bridge on this mark. Quick and dirty :)

It makes me happy watching you making an amazing instrument! Watching the process of creating something that I love is something that...I don’t know how to say it... it amazes me(? I mean it’s wonderful everything that has to happen in order to have an amazing instrument. The length is 25.5" from inside the nut on the high E string to the trailing edge of the high E saddle edge with some play for adjustments on the inside edge of the adjustable saddle so you don't roll into the saddles block that's on the e strings nut side .
