I have several credits that I use depending on how much cash back I’ll get. Thank you Apple for making it easier to have all those cards on my phone, and for it to be available almost everywhere
I remember I was living in a smaller town when it came out, I used it at a local grocery store a few times and the cashiers flipped out. They got used to me using that, then the Watch came out and I used that with my sleeve covering the watch and waved my hand like a Jedi and they flipped out again, asking me to "do it again!" I'm like "you know I'm using real money to do this, right?" lol.
I remember before Apple Pay only a couple of the fancier credit cards had tap to pay, but good luck actually finding a place that actually had an NFC reader outside of the big cities. And then for a few years Samsung phones had some kind of IR receiver that let you use Samsung Pay at pretty much any terminal that accepted credit cards even if they didn’t have an NFC reader, that was pretty cool.
Walmart still doesn’t do it because they can’t track. Back in like 2015 I had Samsung. They bought a company that did NFC payment but worked on all CC machines. Anything that could read a mag strip it worked on. Even a 1980s gas station machine. It was amazing g at the time because nothing had to support it. Samsung bought the company then after about 3 years killed all of it. Took the feature out of phones. Was a shame. Apple Pay is not about convenience… it’s about security. Period.
