I would LOVE to see a video where people are asked to explain WHY they want children, then watch all the answers be completely selfish.
"My questionable legacy, extra hands for my work, perceived supreme genetics, taking care of me in old age, being workforce drone to pay for my pension, so I fit in with peer/social/familial expectations, so my partner is tied to me forever, because I'm lonely, so I can live out my dreams through them, my beige manufactured perfection social media fodder, clipping wings of too successful woman so she doesn't outshine me and other men"
There may be some people with legit raw animal maternal instinct that they just can't explain and want to give the best childhood for kids, putting them first, maybe even going adoption route, but most do not realize how much work, time, support and sacrifice do you have to have for creating great childhood. You need a village, good examples to follow, other willing carers to take your shift, patience, resources, attention, preparedness in mentorship, healing, psychology, next level housekeeping. Lack of dangerous creeps around, enough space to roam and learn, not passing on your own traumas. Most people can't provide that. We don't live in communal farms anymore (well Amish do, so their birth rates are not plummeting). And that's not even getting into society welcoming them as adults, are they going to be fulfilled in this world? There's so many factors to consider and so little accommodation. It's difficult enough for those CRAVING kids, let alone forcing someone unwilling to have them.

I decided I didn't want kids before I even fully understood the question.
They'd see me with my little doll and ask if I wanted a real baby one day? I said no, I was 6. I have been saying no to that question ever since.
Being able to give them back is waaaaay better.
I hesitate so long for a phone subscription let alone having kids
At 37, I am childless with possibilities of becoming Childfree, mostly coz, 1. I have enjoyed being independent (read a responsible adult) for so long. 2. I am an introvert. 3. I am currently re-parenting myself from childhood trauma. 4. Due to reason 3 and being in some toxic relationships, , I am yet to come across a man that I can trust to procreate with.

Being a childfree woman was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself !!! I knew at a very young age that I never wanted children. I never wanted the responsibility nor have I ever had the desire to be a mother ! I really don’t think a lot of people truly understand all that goes into raising a child ! It’s more than just feeding a child and making sure they have a roof over their head and clothes on their back ! Not only do children need a lot of love, attention and patience, they need a great deal of mental and emotional availability as well. Not everyone is capable of providing a child with those essentials. Not to mention the fact that children are expensive ASF !!!!!!! Nah !!!!! I’ll pass !!!!! I’m glad I chose to be child free !!!!! I’ll never live to regret it ! 😎✌🏾
