- In this video I spectated random players in Fortnite zero build duos. At one point I ended up spectating an actual default who seemed to be very new to the game and it was funny to see them try to figure the game out as they played. While spectating this match I tried to give as many zero build tips based on what the players were doing right and what I would do differently If you would like to see more videos of me spectating random players in Fortnite let me know down in the comments below.

Hi Jake! Great video as always! Would you be willing to do a video about how to drop optimally? You landed perfectly at Coney, and I am never sure how steep to drop, and when I should be leaving the bus etc, and very often people beat me to the poi! :)

I always drop about 1050 meters away and try to deploy glider at about 400 meters away from your preferred spot. I'm sure Jake has better info than that but seems to work for me.
You must jump at a distance where you are landing on the ground right as you enter the zone. Also your glider deploys at a certain height from the ground. Fly straight down. So aim for the lowest point on the ground near where you want to land. He pulls his at the river(technically the game pulls it for him). Depending on how long it takes to go from glider deployment to ground will determine how early you must jump in order to get a perfect landing. Always jump before the bus passes the location. Do not jump for a location that is behind you in the bus. This generally applies to any landing spot in the immediate areas around the bus route. Anything farther and you will need to practice different jumps and gliding lengths in order to hit farther spots perfectly.

Quick question. Since I'm pretty new to FN (only 3 zero build solo wins as I mostly play Team Rumble at the moment) I noticed that the same game you were in there were some seemingly bad players. Not to sound judgemental as I'm rubbish myself lol but, I thought FN puts players in with the same skills (more or less), ie SBMM.
Those early players weren't even close to your level. Even the last 6 players didn't seem all that great despite being over level 100.
Does FN actually use SBMM or is it all pretty random do you think?

Fortnite does have skill based matchmaking but from my experience it is toned down a lot in no build like I tend to face significantly better players in build mode and most of my friends who are streamers/content creators seem to have to same experience.
Also just in general its hard to have super strict sbmm in a br where you need 100 players to start a match they can't make it super strict without running into large queue times. Its just something that will never be perfect and there will always be outliers on the top end and low end of the skill spectrum in every match similar to a bell curve.
I don't think Zero Build is anywhere near as popular as Build mode. I tried to disable cross-play and the game wouldn't let me queue for ZB, so I think what you're seeing there is a result of relatively small pool of players. Epic are matching up players of very different skill levels to keep queue times to a minimum.
@@bombkangaroo yeh agree I match people way better than me sometimes but sometime I laser the entire lobby. But on a whole I think epic has it pretty good. Some games are way too strict with SBMM.

Another good video. The skin tip doesn't work for me and my buddy tho cause he's on PS4 and only sees defaults half the time lol. However when I'm with the one who also has a Series X like me, yea we do call out skins all the time.
Not hating on PS4 btw lol it's a Gen thing, not only do I have a PS4, but I also played on the One before I got my Series X, XB One had the same issue of seeing way more defaults than you're supposed to.

I absolutely hate the port a forts. I can't wait until they're taken out of Zero Build. They do not belong in that mode IMO
What do you dislike most about them or find most difficult about dealing with them? Please give as much detail as possible I plan on making a vid on dealing with port a forts in no build so seeing what people dont like would be helpful
I'm guessing that this is flavour related, because they're not nearly as powerful as the mobility items that were already in the game, and once deployed they don't get you into the next circle. They can be very useful in the extremely late game if the players without forts are very unlucky with circle placement and get no cover, but those final few circles will often favour one player over another anyway, so it's not a night and day difference compared to the start of the season. I suppose, at the lower end, maybe there is a perception that the port-a-forts are very powerful, because mobility items do require a lot more skill to use well,whereas you can just throw down a fort with very little effort.
@@EvolveJake I don't like that they're so tall, and in my opinion they are too durable. I don't like that players can carry more than one, and that you can stack them on top of each other. I think it's ridiculous that you can throw one down around a rez van. I prefer fighting around the buildings that already exists, not these towers that can be just thrown down. I hate that so many final circles are now just a field of port of forts. And just from a flavor point, I don't like them in zero build. If it was like, a port o wall where it's just a slightly better cow catcher I'd be more okay with it. Using a shockwave grenade to jump up to the enemy is already pretty risky for our PC group because close up fights are just way harder, so jumping up to them just ends up being a death sentence. They don't get destroyed by fire, bullets don't do nearly enough to them. The best counter play I've seen to them is to get up close and break out the bottom so they fall down. I'm down for most of the wacky shit, a shark bursting though out house in the middle of a fight is funny, but the forts just don't work for me.
Also unrelated but my god Epic please stop trying to force me to use the new charge SMG, it is awful. Having it pop out of my legendary fruit is a bummer every time

forts basicly make 0 build pointless because its the same as playing builld mode. isn't the point of zero build to have no type of building.
What do you dislike about the port a forts or what makes you find them difficult to deal with aside from the fact that its cover in zero build. I just see it is a much more effective version of the cow catcher which can reduce the randomness of some zones but im interested to see what people think who dislike them cause I plan on making a video full of tips on how to adapt and deal with them.
