Muhammad Mamoon Previously it was 'The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell' but it's now usually shorted to 'Mitochondria is the the powerhouse of the cell'
In fact I’m not able to focus on the meaning because of the eye on the top of the nose of the animated character. I’m constantly thinking about if it hurts or not.
I have hyperhydrosis.....I sweat for no reason. Don't think these reasons apply in my case. Ps- I would really appreciate if you make a video on hyperhydrosis. Not many know about it and it is a rare condition. People like me find it really hard to explain....also it's really embaressing and frustrating condition. If you make a video then atleast some will understand
Vaishnavi Yep they need to the world needs to be aware of it and not think of me as someone asocial or shy because I'm resistant to shake hands. Life is so not fair to some people
I have Hyperhidrosis... (excessive sweating) Even in room temperature, I still, sweat, a lot Like when place your palm on a glass or windows, there will be traces of palm on it...
Azizul Adnan I go through something called autonomic dyareflexia, the first symptom is profusely sweating no matter the temperature. So even in winter if something causes pain or any stimulus below my level of injury I'll be drenched in my face, head, neck eshoulders and back. It's very bad for me in winter because the this decreases my temperature even further making my muscles spasm like crazy. I'm paralyzed from the neck down so if I'm in my chair it makes it really hard to use it. Then not to mention that due to my level of injury I cannot sweat regardless of how hot it gets.
I know exactly why we sweat but I still find these videos so interesting and yet I still learn something new from them. I love them, thank you so much!
TED-Ed videos are always so hit-or-miss, at least insofar as “actually explaining the concept” goes. This is one of the best ones - well done, John Murnan! (Also, fantastic animation!)
Holy moly, can we appreciate the delightful animation in this film? I love ted-Ed for the combination of animation and information creating a godlike product.
Okay I reclicked the video 20 times, and I still didn’t get an ad. Come on ted ed, I want to support your amazing work without paying anything (I’m brooooke) and with basically no effort or time wasted
I love u Ted ed!! I have been watching your videos for about 2 years. I love how u explain them so they are easier to understand for me cuz Im 9 years old. I watched all your vids I have to wait for more Literally nothing left for me to watch anymore😆
Same thing, body heats up due to external factors like blankets, room temperature and hot gf/ wife. Hypothalamus is signalled to cool you down. Sweating happens.
One question: under hot weather places like in Nigeria, I sweat when I sleep without any fan or air conditioner. What could be the cause in such a case? After all, its not a physical exerting activity. Nice video BTW
Before you release this video, I was supposing if you will create this video because I was asking what causes sweat and I sweat so much! But you made this video, so thank you so much TED-ED
Hi ! I love Ted ed ❤️❤️ I learn alot through it ... please keep making more videos And my humble request to you that if u guys could also make more in biology 👌

Muhammad Mamoon The meme is mitochondria *is* the powerhouse of the cell, not *are*. I didn't invent it.
Muhammad Mamoon Previously it was 'The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell' but it's now usually shorted to 'Mitochondria is the the powerhouse of the cell'
Truer words were never spoken.
What is the powerhouse of the Mitochondria

Life is so not fair to some people
Does hyperhydrosis also decrease function in the part of the brain responsible for processing language?
Should live in water tbh
Na Zhao what!!! Noo...it does not affect your brain or any other organ. It's just a condition of excessive sweating.
It's not rare, get on with it
Short answer: to regulate the body’s tempature.
Alternate title: Why and *How* do we sweat.
Or *is it?*
“Moon men starts playing”
