- Rampless bike trailer constructed by myself. Now for sale.
Excuse the twerking.
10/09/21 Update - Wow, this video has received far more attention than I was anticipating! I only uploaded this as a quick demo to support a facebook advert I posted over 6 years ago.
In answer to the recurrent questions:
Sorry, I do not have any formal plans available, it was roughly sketched in MS Word and tweaked during the build process.
Having noted the interest, I may dust off my CAD skills and create a drawing pack
It was built as a one off for my track day and green laning activities with a small form factor so it could be stored on its side in my garage.
It sold via facebook to a local gentleman within a day of advertising, and I've no current intentions of commercially producing them (though it would seem there's a market for such things!).
To those who don't get it , I rode pro for 5 years and I quit riding up a ramp well before that. Yes, I sometimes walk a bike up a ramp while using it's power, but I still always try to have someone on the other side of the bike.
I know people who (do to age, injuries, or just life) are not riders, but collector's, pickers and mechanics who move bikes by themselves, regularly. This makes it safe and easy for ANYbody to load and unload, alone! Even BIG BIKES. Even NON-running bikes. Even a bike that is in 5 boxes, on a 4 wheel cart.
Just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean it makes no sense.
Anyone who’s had to push a real bike up onto a trailer or pickup truck can really appreciate this. Especially older riders.
Genius.
Yeah I tend to ride mine onto trailer, age doesn't affect balance and brains as it does extra effort needlessly
I think you'll find it does eventually. Probably shouldn't be riding by then though.
I painted my ramps and sprinkled sand in the wet paint for good traction. Then a thin top coat of the same paint. Works for me, but I do appreciate the thought & labor this guy put into his trailer.
..or cruiser owners, where it beaches on the transition of ramp-to-bed. Well done that man.
Why is everyone complaining about you turning your back and not being able to see. I saw and understood pretty well what you did. Great job on building that trailer, I dig it brotha 👍
They don't even have a bike!
Yadi Yada he has no idea lmao. He wanted you to explain it to him 🤣🤣🤣.
Those are the people that never once owned a bike or a trailer and never will but have to complain about something to feel better and important.
Looks like it solves a lot of problems with other types of trailers that rely on expensive parts, or lots of parts.
Bravo!
This is so much better than it looks, and so much safer than a ordinary bike trailer.. Brilliant idea and looks factory made.
Excellent engineering work! Exceptional! After reading some of the replies.... there are always people who will complain, even if you hung them with a brand new rope. Ignore them.
I think that is the most interesting trailer I have seen for a cycle. What is the max weight it carries.
Sweet idea seams like you coulda had the bike loaded the old fashion way a whole lot quicker tho . Still really cool
In case you are in a real rush?
Think that might be better if you have a bad back or something, just seems more convenient with this trailer
Just have an aluminum ramp and drive it up to the trailer, very simple, I've been doing it all my life
If you're bike is broke down you may not be able to push it up a ramp !
I think it's a million dollar ideal we done !
@@PurpleObscuration some people are afraid of heights! 😂I’m with you! Good idea, but it does seem faster with ramp and trailer.
I own one like this that holds 3 bikes. Best trailer I’ve ever owned.
Really sweet, larger sized tires would be a nice add on,.Very well thought out.
Bigger tires, lmao. I'm from california this dudes whole country is a county where I live. He could honestly get away with smaller trailer tires (sic) yes I know you guys have tyres. He's not going very far unless he has a boat. Just saying. Lmao.
@@pizzadude6615 you have pretty big counties then as UK has area of 93,628 sq mi and California is 163,696 sq mi, not even double of that of UK. (In reality, largest county in California is San Bernardino county, 20,062 sq mi). Also i can't see how size of tires and distance travelled correlate.
@@ninefingerdeathgrip whatever, my state is nearly twice the size of the uk. Also the uk is four countries, also europe does have quite a few comically small countries. Not to mention it's square kilometers over there not miles. So poo poo on you.
I have absolutely no use for that trailer. Yet it's so cool I want one. 👍👍
First off, that’s a neat build. Takes talent to fab up something like that, but that’s a lot of work to load a bike, when a ramp would have made quick work of it. The trailer is barely a foot off the ground.
I’m assuming not everyone is as strong as you?
@@featheredindian It has an engine, and they practically load themselves. Honestly, if someone doesn’t posses the skills or strength tho load a bike onto a trailer, they really shouldn’t be out in traffic. I understand everyone wants to ride, but if you cannot over power that bike, your a hazard on the road...
Yes but wait until somebody put some 16 inch tires on it it ..
@@ryanfriars545 , I rode pro for 5 years and I quit riding up a ramp well before that. Yes, I sometimes walk a bike up a ramp while using it's power, but I still always try to have someone on the other side of the bike.
I know people who (do to age. Injuries, or just life) are not riders, but collector's and mechanics who move bikes by themselves. This makes it safe and easy for ANYbody to load and unload, alone, even if the bike doesn't run.
Unless you know of some benefit to a high COG (center of gravity), why would you need the trailer to be more than a foot off the ground anyways? My car sits less than that and it gets around the grounds at camp and the tracks.
@@dirtbikedave I don’t remember saying it needed to be higher, I just said it was a lot of work. There’s a lot of moving parts on that trailer, and many steps involved just to load a bike. There are many other issues I see also, and many people have gone over them and more in the comments.
What’s the problem with ramps? To thin? Build a wider one. Not secure? Put some clamps onto it.
A tilt deck works amazing, with much less parts, and can be used while secured to a vehicle. As for the collectors and weak and feeble, a winch with a wireless control works wonders, and is cheap and easy.
This is a wonderful trailer. I hope you are rewarded hansomely when you sell it.
thats a bad ass trailer dude i used to use a snow mobile trailer back in the day they tilted and you ride up and it falls down n locks super easy !
1 millions likes !!! It's perfect, congretulation !

Very nice trailer, and I completely understand everything you have written in the video description. I uploaded a video of a very similar trailer a year ago that my dad built a few years back… stupid how much attention the video got. The trailer does work very nice though, much easier than trying to load in the back of my pickup truck myself.
I gasped when you lowered the bed down brilliant
everyone's a critic, love to see them do better..
I know this is over 5 years old now, but that's a very clever trailer. What I would like to see is something like u bolts that secure the main deck to the A frame instead of just 2 tiny hitch pins...something that wraps around the deck rails and A frame rails and clamps them together when finished loading.
Nice job! But may I suggest you convert from crank handles to cordless drill power for tongue jack and floor lift.?
More like a drop deck than a scissor lift looks cool I would use it
Another example of People with brains...👍😎🇺🇸
Great idea, I think the only part I would tweak would be the locking pins for the base to the frame, I'd put them diagonally across the corners so you you would have 2 locking points on each side. That being said it probably doesn't require ismt as the raising strap is there as a back up anyway.
Great idea especially for a heavy orlow clearance bike. Walking a dead harley or gold wing up a ramp by yourself can get scary. Especially in the rain or if your strength isn't the greatest at the moment. A modified auto dolly with a center rail also
works well.
If it were hard to push you could ride it on
@@bobbo9549 you dont understand what a dead bike it
@@roundingcorners 12v remote winch then.
Chris great video bud. Just out of interest, how much did that cost to build and would you consider building another one.
Beautiful piece of engineering sir. Well done!!
Very cool , needs an electric jack and winch though. That little extra step would make this really freaking cool.
that is very creative!!
I think that too! He used a trailer as clickbait to show off his ass.
That’s genius! I’m steeling the design and putting a patent on it today! Thanks !
You Tube dude cant even spell steal
Very clever and nice work sir , hats off !!! 😉👍👌
Good looking trailer, hopefully you sell a bunch of them
Pretty friggn cool build.
Wonder how well a hinged, split tongue could help. This would allow the trailer to be attached to the vehicle. Not to critique your build, just thinking out loud. Very cool trailer 🤙
We get it, you’re a trailer nerd…
@@ayz01 A Nerd to this entire Realm, indeed.
The 50lbs. of extra weight saved having to have a 10lb. ramp. Still pretty cool though.
@@fella704 Good point, also the setup is safer loading, for both injury and accident, and the extra weight might make the trailer trail better,a d would have 1 less thing to secure
This is genius mate. You have a bloody good mind for making things work
Do you have any plans to build this trailer? That is a a fine piece of work, well done Sir 👏
The deck is low on this so if you drive in hilly areas you risk grinding the trailer out .other fault with all these designs are the high rate of wear on parts ,not only do you gave weight of the machine but the applied pressure of straps pushing bike lifting deck against the trailer locks . The bike moving slightly bring compressed to hold it down with it all on them joints and it adds up to wearing out deck attach points
Nce job, it would be interesting to see the type and the way the suspension is connected.
Trailer suspension
Look up Timbren.
Stub Axels. Smart idea.
Sencillamente EXCELENTE. 👍👍👍
Good job, what size box section and how thick did you use for the main outer frame of the trailer?
Nice work really like that idea
Yeah, buy this it turns a 5 second job into a 15 minute fiasco!!! Good job!!
CHEEPER THEN BUYING A BIKE TRAILER U GUYS. NOT ABOUT THE 2 MINS IT TAKES TO LOAD IT.
STOP HATEING ON THIS YOUNG MAN HE's IN SCHOOL
That's awesome. I'd love one for my quad 😁
The one design flaw I can definitely suffer from is you have to be unhitched to load and unload & if you’re on an incline you’d also have to chock your wheels... thumbs up for innovation!
Oh no... You have to chock the wheels.. Oh nooooo....
Nice, That's pretty slick.
Just cool. Gonna be a money maker. Good job Bro!
Great job Chris. Maybe next time don't turn your back to the camera and stand on the other side of the trailer so we can see what you are doing with the winch etc? Hope you sell it, good luck!!!!
Preparing for and operating the GROST SPX 05 self-propelled scissor lifts using the SPX 05-12000 model. baltic-forklift.prom.ua/g13494465-podemniki
Very clever. Works like a charm. Thanks for sharing.
Ingenuity brother,god job.
God didn't make that trailer, the kid did!!! 😄
Do you have the Construction plans for this awesome trailer? Is fantastic, congrats.
If you have the ability to build one, you don't need plans.
Brilliant idea 💡👏👌👍
Very good job nice an easy one man job you werent asleep at the back of the classroom 👏👏👏
Just been recommended this. Can you do a video on how its made please
Sweet! This is like one I want to make!
Excellent ! very good work ! bravo
Seems like alot of work to avoid using a ramp.
Dude that’s fantastic do you have plans for it ?
Looks great! How much would you charge for that model? I’ve got a work trike that needs towing. Got a website?
The guys Jeans are more fascinating than his Trailer LOL
So do you have to unhitch it everytime? Can't raise the jack when it's hitched to a vehicle. Kinda seems like a lot of effort instead of just putting a rampgate on the back of the trailer.
Gorgeous trailer
Not quite the scissor lift I expected, but a great idea.
love the innovation!
A jack with a quick adjust leg would make jacking it up a lot faster cool build you have skill
Very smart idea, if i were you i would get a patton for that so no one can take your idea away from you, i'v had it happen to me with an idea i had and by now i could of beem worth millions :( dont let the good life pass you by :) very good make!
Very true, get it patten across the world for £450,000.00 before some one els takes your idea.
What he should do is Patent that
Are you still selling these? I'm interested in purchasing one.
I'd still like to purchase plans for this, even if it's the scribbled MS Word sketches that you made up.
Hi, really like the video. How can I contact you? I would like to ask you some questions. Thanks
Brilliant idea
So primitive. Easy to use. Low as you can go. Great work man. What took so long for that idea. Electric motor on the Deluxe. May as well go dbl. Cars too. Park Brake Axel. Definitely the best bike trailer in along time. No reason to be a square base triangle it at front to match main frame. No busted shins. Glad to add those to a great idea. My idea..Chow partner.
Fantastic sir, I want one!
The neighbors are like, DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO LOUD ON A SUNDAY MORNING!
Nice trailer, did you chock the wheels?
FCKIN COOL i love the set up, plain n simple to used very clever bud hmmmm do you deleiver in canada ehh lol
why you do not put the camera on the other side to view better the trailer!
Any idea on how much weight it can carry? My bike weighs out at about 1000lbs. How much are you asking for the trailer and where are you located?
Tolle Konstruktion! Gefällt mir sehr gut! LG aus Koblenz Christoph 👋 👋 👋 👋 👋
Hope you have a patent for that. If not, get it done! Great idea you got their.
Pretty cool how much for it since it's for sale
Can i have plans for it or do you build them?
That is Awesome....if that was available here in Canada i would buy it.
Im not saying its a bad job....but wouldnt be easier to put a ramp on the thing?
Man thats alot of work just to losd a bike on a trailer. Ida just put a ramp gate on it and rolled the damn thing on there. Dont get me wrong this is a good idea bit its more work than its worth. But i guess if youre lazy
what are you selling them for will it carry a full size bagger
Do you have building plans? I live overseas so it would be too expensive to ship it here. Thanks
This is really genius. Patent this!
Nicely Done
Cool trailer
That's clever calling it a scissor lift isn't a good name or description of the trailer, maybe something like ez,platform. Bike tilt trailer fits it better, buts it's a nice design I hope you muck success selling it
How much are these selling for and from where are they picked up?
You can buy one ready to go at www.zprotrailers.com
I am lazy. I just bought mine. And I don't have to unhook from the tow vehicle. Nice job.
Buddy I just think that if you just ramp it and tighten it I would have been easier.
2 years later... He is still afraid of ramps and don't want to drop his bike.
what did you use for the axles and what size tire?
I would buy it just because of your baby in the background call for his dad.
(Dad, where are you) good job sir.
Man, you´re a genius. Excellent work.
Very smart idea!
But my main question is what happened to the bike?
So sick!!!
Where do I sign up I want one!
SWEEEEEEET TRAILER
Cool but you don’t have to un hook from truck with a ramp and it’s way faster
