Thank you for taking your time and making this video I think a lot of us wouldn't realize there's a second drain plug if you didn't State there was.
Great video. Do you also have a video on how to change break fluid for the BMW F850 GS Adventure? Having trouble on which size nipple area (front break) to loosen/use. There’s two on front break (8mm and 11mm). Like how you do a wonderful job describing things for those that are trying to understand. Hope to hear from you soon.
I use the motion pro hydraulic brake bleeder connected to a generic brake fluid bottle. I don't know the size of wrench for the bleeder bolt, but I do believe the two front are the same and then the rear is different. I have to do a bleed in the coming weeks so I will try to record that. Thanks for the nice comments, they are appreciated.
I put the wrench on, then the motion pro bleeder, then hook up the bottles tube to the other end of the motion pro. Hope that helps a little

Thank you very much for your video. It was very helpful. Greetings from Greece.
You’re welcome! Would love to ride there someday.
Great video but a part you skipped was telling people not to screw the cap in when checking the oil level. Insert the dip stick but don’t screw it down. It emphasizes this step in the manual.
Thanks for watching and pointing that out✌️
Thanks! Needed to read this, first time owner of an f850.
Excellent tutorial thank you and subbed. Greetings from UK and stay safe 🦠
Hello my friend, very nice video. I would like to know how did you do to turn off the "Service Warning" sign in the TFT pannel after changing oil and filter. I want to do the work to my motorbike. Regards . LeoJury
Hello, thanks a lot for the video. Would you please tell me where can I buy the oil filter wrench?
Very helpfull, thank you
You’re welcome!
Absolutely fantastic.
Thank you!!! Good tips!!👍👍👏👏
Thanks for the video!
Thank you, from Ukraine
Hope you doing Ok?
Great video. I don't understand why BMW would have that inner drain plug. I changed my oil thanks to your video. Also, why can't I reset my own service interval without having to buy a $400 tool?
Thank you!
BMW has had an inner plug on most of their models. You can reset service minder with a tool called Motoscan MX also.
Great job! Obrigado
De nada! Thanks for watching.
It's better to just take the guard off the pipe area around the cat. Vid is well done btw!
Thanx mate:)
Enjoy your channel and these maintenance videos are useful. have an older 89 FJ1200 as well as a 2019 F850GS. Am new to BMW and surprised they would use Black plastic for the dipstick, seems hard to read or perhaps its just me. Thanks.
Thanks, much appreciated. I totally agree about the black plastic, it's very hard to read.
Excelente...saludotes
NOTE - first oil change, you'll need 2 different oil filter wrench .......1 on bike from factory is not 100% same as what you buy at BMW dealership.
why there is 2 oil plugs?
How do you reset the message? Also, how important is it to change it if you reach the date before the miles? I still have like 3200 miles left but have expired on the date.
The message has to be reset with a specific device. The dealer can do it and will charge you or you can use a device like gs911 or OBDLink LX OBD2 for Android with Motoscan. Yes I would change it if you reached the date before reaching the miles to get fresh oil to protect the engine the best.
@@MotoTravelUSA Thanks for the fast response! I think I will do that.
Just purchased a new f850. I will have to say when you have to buy a special tool to reset service light SO LONG BMW this is ridiculous. I will stick with Harley or might try Honda AT.
What dimension are the 850GS crush washers?
16x20x2mm is the size that I've been using and it works great.
Great vid, how did you get the service cd
Thanks. Ordered it from a dealer, but I’ve seen some posts that they might not sell it directly to consumer anymore
Hi, great video. I see that you use an oil filter wrench to install the MAHLE 0C619 oil filter. Should I use the 74x14 or the 76x14 oil filter wrench? Thanks!
Thanks! For the MAHLE I used a 74mm 14
2ndry drain bolt?? Germans....!
Oh, and for people like me who had no idea what a 5mm hex bolt is... 5mm Allen wrench.
Thanks for the clear instructions one of the best I’ve seen!
