- It's been over 10 years since my last visit to the Vale of Rheidol, and the first equipped with a video camera! A beautiful sunny Rheidol Valley greeted me and we were able to enjoy a delightful 6 or so hours chasing the Rheidol Tanks up and down the hill. In service was:
GWR 'Rheidol Tank' No.8 'Llewelyn'
GWR 'Rheidol Tank' No.1213 'Prince of Wales'
Shots in the video are:
'Prince of Wales' barks up through Derwen Woods
'Llewelyn' powers away from Llanbadarn
'Llewelyn' arrives and departs Aberffrwd
'Prince of Wales' charges away from Capel Bangor
'Prince of Wales' arrives into Devil's Bridge
'Llewelyn' barks up the hill after departing Aberffrwd

Great video! I heard they recently acquired a Garratt Locomotive! That would be good.
Personally can't get excited for the Garratt going. It's an ex GWR line that's still true to its roots, and when I return (hopefully not before long) I would certainly hope to see the Rheidol Tanks out again, and not the Garratt
Making a great sound storming away from the stops there.I think it's a pity they took the nameplates off No. 9 and gave it its unmemorable GW number.
I love the fact they've put it back as 1213! Original condition, will look even better sans air pump as of when it happens
