LPN for 7 years,RN for less than 1.Recently started on a PCU floor and I’ve been super overwhelmed with the idea of telemetry and interpreting 12 leads. This video made me feel that much better.Thank you!
thank you. This video answered most of my questions. I am on my way to beginning my registered nurse career on the telemetry floor. I am excited and intimidated at the same time. Thank you for bringing clarity to the subject.
I’m starting on a post surgical cardiac step down unit and I’m so pumped-no pun intended lol any videos for post surgical cardiac step down?
Not on that unit specifically. I'd focus on resources for ICU/cardiac ICU in terms of clinical patient care, but then in terms of time management, check out med-surg stuff. For step-down, you've got complex patients that are task-heavy because they are more stable, so it's like learning about the complexity disease processes while also being able to be efficient with a lot of tasks. Here are my med-surg resources: www.freshrn.com/med-surg-nursing/ and here are my ICU ones: www.freshrn.com/critical-care-icu-nursing/ and here are my cardiac ones: www.freshrn.com/cardiac-nursing/
I will be purchasing your cardiac course on your website! Thank you for putting this all together.
Best advice ❤️ I am doing my clinical rotation on a cardiac floor this summer for 6 weeks and I am so nervous! But I appreciate you sharing how important it is to understand the basics first.
This is the type of nursing I want to get into.
I’ll be starting as a CNA soon on a cardiac unit and I’m so nervous I’m not going to know what my colleagues are talking about. Ugh
You'll pick it up soon, and as far as people who are knew to cardiac and the hospital, your new colleagues won't expect you to know every single thing. Give yourself permission to be a beginner, and when people say things that don't make sense, simply ask. "Hey you said this patient had a MVR. What does that mean exactly? I'm new to all of this and just trying to understand." this opens the door for them to teach you, and you'll build rapport at the same time!
I’ve had 4 heart attacks I’ve got hear failure your videos are a great help in a funny way
Great video which Stethoscope do you have?
@@drei000 I listen for rhythm of beat of s1/s2 and murmurs (whoosh). You can look online at pictures where your stethoscope would be placed to listen ( pulmonic, aortic, etc). I'm a visual person so seeing those pictures really helps me. Also practice on your family and friends.
Yeah, I have the same question! I'm going to start on a cardiac floor and I want to know which stethoscope is best
@@hannahn99 Hi, which stethoscope you find very helpful as cardiac nurse? thanks!
I wanted to work in a cardiac floor but never felt comfortable enough. I was an LPN for about 10 years and now as an RN I feel intimidating. Thank you!
I'm glad it helped! You'll be a great addition with all of that experience! We're working on a new updated cardiac nurse crash course that will come out this summer that should also be helpful for people new to the specialty.
Love 💘, so much and hope everything is going well for you and love your videos and God bless you and stay safe and healthy. Love 💘, 💘
Thank you
yes to basics!
Just got hired as a cardiac nurse and this put me at ease!! Thank you
