Proud of this woman to refuse fame and instead choose to serve humanity by being a doctor. Praise be to GOD for helping her make the right call.
I remember her being crowned as a beauty queen when I was a teenager in the ninth grade (in Pakistan). I read the news in the newspaper and still remember the day. It was her unusual charm that captivated my teenage heart and is still fresh in my memory. I would talk about her to my classmates while I was a medical student. I worked in Dublin and got a fellowship in surgery in 1987 and if I had known that she was a Dublin resident, I certainly would have expressed my desire to see her. Anyway, I am still her fan. Long live Reita Faria❤
Bhai Ye Sab Kaise Yaad Karte ho ?😮
@@RkR2001 Some things in life are so impressionable that they leave a permanent mark on your memory and Miss Reita Faria is one of them😍
I remember this as well. And I was not even a teenager. Best wishes to Reita and her family.
👍 She was born ahead of her time... Of course she did the right thing by pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor.
She is still beautiful!!
Who said women taking care of family are not brave and confident?
That,s modern world mindset
Her smile today still resembles her smile on Miss World stage. I think she did the right thing and followed her heart. May more people in todays world could do the same.
What an intelligent, strong, and amicable woman. ❤
A family that liberates a daughter to live freely is a successful family.
She is the real gem of india
Yes, she is magnificent...leading a pure choice
She broke the stereotype and inspired many Indian women. Today India has strong, beautiful and Independent women not forgetting 6 Miss world and 3 Miss Universe.
We respect her dignity and humanity
She had the most beautiful figure. Even her walk was perfect and she moved like a goddess. She had no modeling training. No one taught her how to walk or how to carry herself. She had natural grace and class. She really stood out from the other girls. She deserved to win. 👑 🌼 🌻 🌸 🪷 💐
I did .eet her in london where i was woking in. A Hair Salon and she was staying there for a T.V.show she was so ordinary one woudnt belive she was miss world.she is an incredible lady and i will never forget her.
When you say "ordinary" I'm taking you mean she was not a phony because by her photos she was very pretty.
Reita Faria with great personality was a beautiful girl win the contest. All the best to her 👍👍👍👍
Absolutely correct!
She made the great choice of life away from glamour.
Thank you for sharing hers beautiful yet humble life.❤❤❤❤
Namaste,
Thanks for this video.👍 An exceptional human being who stood true to her words . Hats off to her
Yes. She did not stray from her true path.
I didn’t want the”””” FAME and RECOGNITION. “””Beautiful words🙏🙏🙏🙏
intelligence has never run after fame, fame is thrust on them by the virtue of who they are whether in creative field of writers or medicine or any other innovation
Lovely video.... She took the right decision of following her heart and dedicating her heart for her mission to become a doctor...❤
Very intelligent, beautiful woman, above all she took the best decision of her life, very admirable full of wisdom lady.
She is an inspiration and pride for Indian women!
An amazing woman!!! Loved to know about her!❤❤❤❤❤
She's still sooo Beautiful ❤
Wisdom prevails when a person has right values of life. 99% fall prey to glamour and goose bumps of worldly name and fame.
Much less than 1% perhaps are blessed with strong mind to live real values of life .
They live happily and longer
What a wonderful soul, she is a real example of true happiness and peace
She did the right thing! What an elegant, well grounded woman. A great role model for young ladies today.
It requires great strength of mind and heart not to succumb to the lure of the glamour world. I distinctly remember the day Reita Faria walked off with the Crown sixty years ago. I thought she was extraordinarily beautiful and graceful, and full of a natural charm which is a rare commodity today. At a mere 23 years, to have realised the ephemeral nature of beauty and fame was indeed exemplary. To this day she remains a picture of grace. Kudos to her!
She’s did the right thing 💖
She is beautiful with a lovely smile. She chose the right path as she knows that glamour wont stay long. We must be proud of her. Its unfortunate to note that she is in Dublin. India has lost a great devoted doctor. Thanks Emma for sharing this video we sjould learn to overlook about their dressing or wearing veil. That is her choice and not necessary to bring in religion & culture into it. Let us be a broad minded people and appreciate her courage and inteligence. Lets send our best wishes to her and her family. ❤
Yes! She did the write thing👍 God bless her family where she's enjoying the best days of her life with her one n only husband, children n grandchildren 🙏
She did the right thing
Excellent information and narration...
All Indians are proud of her. God bless her
She chose her life rightly God Bless her
Excuse me no Hindu woman was expected to be behind veils. That's a Muslim concept. And India is a majority Hindu country. Even our freedom fighters were fierce women with immense reach to all the citizens of India. We pride ourselves in worshipping warrior Goddesses.
Ps: Veils and modesty were forced in India by the mughal invasion and then the Catholic British Empire.
Madam Shruti,
What you firmly stated is common knowledge. But you shouldn't take this as a chance to nit pick although we know you meant well.
I do not believe the British empire forced veils and modesty, nor was the empire Catholic (it is firmly anti catholic) . You are right about everything else.
bruh go to UP , Bihar, Jharkhand, MP .
Pls just learn your religious history .
"Behind veils" here means to dress conservatively. And second, the British empire was not Catholic. Even today there are many hindu groups in India where women are covering their faces. Go to rural parts of Rajasthan, UP, Bihar etc
What a beautiful, stable, centred human being. God Bless her..❤❤❤
And still with a beautiful smile at 81 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing ...
Absolutely.. A role model of enjoying life to the fullest.. Inspite of her voluminous victory at young age.. She still managed to live a peaceful commoner s life chasing her dream to contribute through one of the actually, noblest professions: Doctor.. I salute her🙋♀️
Nice video, great explanation ❤❤❤
Yes, she is from India and she’s got Goan Roots I believe..

She made great out of her life! 😃🤗🥰
I love Rita Faria and Persis Khambatta both gorgeous indian beauty queens
Reita Faria won first Miss World Persis had chosen modelling and had lot if controversies.Reita stood away from fame life and pursued her career in medicine when she had lots of offers in films
Outstanding and admirable personality ❤
She said, "India needs more doctors"... then she spends her life in the UK ? Hmmm
Exactly 😂
I guess she didn't expect to fall for an Irishman.
Nobody answers honestly, correctly or seriously in a beauty pageant. It was true then as it is now.
It is about answering is a coached way and be clapped at.
That was her obsession at that moment.
Agree with you!
Real Beauty is ageless. She is inside and outside a really beautiful person.
That was so interesting. Well done Reita
Truly a Woman of Substance. God Bless her.
Yes of course ❤🎉
She absolutely did they right thing

What a beautiful person, in and out!❤
amazing lady, she is the true heartbeat of India, a gem of a lady
Wonderful lady! Admire her.
Iona Pinto had also participated in a Beauty contest (either Miss World or Miss universe) there were two girls on the stage and the judges could not decide for a long time whom to select. The moment she stopped smiling, they declared the other girl the winner. This was told to her by one of the judges.
Hey can do a short video about pancakes makeup brand in Gemini studio India ?
Lovely story.
Respect for her . She had actual gift and intelligence, determination to strive to give her a name and Not choosing easy way out...Bollywood , for recognition. Perfect example ❤
As long as she’s happy with her family and her life who am I or anyone else to pass any judgment on her choices in her life
Beauty with brain.
Wow ! This woman deserves more respect than all the present-day Indian celebrities put together 👏👏
the most beautiful girl
Real wow wonderful story
She was ahead of her time and the values that she had of maintaining a modest lifestyle helped her reach the heights that she deserved.
What an amazing lady. Huge respect to her from a South Viet Nam born. Thank you so much for sharing the information of such a beautiful and full of wisdom human being. Best regards from California. 🙏❤️
Wow❤ gorgeous lady 👏
She is great
Definitely yes.
As usual, the western UA-camrs and media totally mischaracterise everything.
First of all, beauty contests never were and increasingly has nothing to do with looks or beauty.
There were always much more beautiful women in movie industry and/or modeling.
There have been more beautiful women in Indian modelling and movie industries since the industry took off in the 1920s.
There is no universal Indian culture.
Urban people were not veiled ever and there were elites imitating British and European customs since the 18th century in India.
She is of Goan ancestry.
Goa is a former Portuguese colony. Portuguese made it a point to proselytize and ask Portuguese men to marry Indian women to make them full Portuguese.
Goan Catholics were not from Indian culture by a stretch and had a Portuguese culture.
Even today, their personal laws follow Portuguese Civil Code for things like marriage, divorce, inheritance and even income tax calculation.
If Goan Roman Catholic women show any Indianness, it has happened in the decades after India conquered Goa in 1961 and assimilated Goans.
I'm sure in those days Miss World was not a famous event and since India didn't even had television (TV service started on a novelty basis in Delhi in 1967 and in major metros in India in the 1970s. and was only a single government owned channel till 1991) nobody had heard of the term Miss WOrld except the foreign travelled elite and high society club class.
I'm sure no one in India heard of her and she was never any influence in Bollywood, because it had its own stars since the 1920s.
Ironically, she never served India as a doctor...
@@bharatmahaan2991because she had to submit to her marriage.don't be jealous that no Miss World took a right choice she is the only one who pursued her dream.
Yes, she did the right decision.
What an amazing lady ❤
Wonderful , she did the right thing.popularity and fame will wane away one day, which will never give any fulfillment. But she choose a noble profession and served people and above all has a loving family and fruitful life.hats off to her decision making .truly inspiring to the new generation ,which run after futile things.
CongrAts
To each her / his own. She was selected by the West and lived there. Supported US in Vietnam. She has done for them as desired. God bless her. 😊
Good to know about her.Did she help children in Bharat ?
So many children needed help in that time
Beautiful
Yes! Very few have the courage!🤩👍
Subtitles are on their faces great edit 😂
Yes. She has taken the best decision
In my childhood, I heard Persis Khambata was the first Indian Miss world in the 1960s!
Reita was the first Miss World
Being modest and doing typical housework shows confedence. Walking the ramp is easy when privileged, makeup and clothes don't make a lady. I admire her choices..
Yes she did the right thing. Yes fame is very much a temporary thing. ❤
She obey what god dictate her.she is a success and blessed story. Happy for her.
She is lovely
I would say that her exposure to Indian Dharmic culture helped her become what she is today!
A successful, confident and woman of values!🎉
Upbringing more than anything else. Parents are the key here, agnostic of systemic belief systems. Religion etc, those are then choices to learn from.
Wow what a life
