There was some beautiful country up that way with much larger mountains than there is in the south. I was amazed by the city of Seoul. So clean. People do not litter the highways there. If you ask me to throw away the trash at the place where I purchased it, I will accept it. To reduce waste, we sell volume-rate garbage bags. It costs about 500 won to throw away 20 liters, and we thoroughly separate waste. Wash food stains in plastic containers at home and separate them. You can recycle for free. Still, it's better to throw it away outside. There is a separate bag for food waste. Food is used as fertilizer and this is one of the reasons why bugs and rats disappear.

I'm Korean. Isn't it inconvenient that there are no trash cans? I know. Here's a tip. If you go to the convenience store where you bought it, and ask them to throw it away, they'll throw it away. I hope everyone does the same.
The reason there are no trash cans is because many people just throw away trash because they have to buy trash bags. 😂
The reason we have to buy trash bags is to properly separate and recycle our waste.😊

  • @kyungshim6483

In Korea please return the trash to the vendor who you purchased from. It's their responsibility to dispose the trash. I hope you enjoy Korea!

That really doesn’t make sense to me. When you buy something to drink, you’re likely not going to in the same spot when you bought the drink/item.
It’s strange that there aren’t a lot of public trash cans for being such a clean city.

@@suziet6176 The subway stations are usually the only reliable place to find a trash and recycling, though in Japan there is often recycling next to vending machines

Most convenience stores have trash cans and recycling bins. It's usually near a small bar where you can eat ramen or gimbap. If you see a microwave oven heating up store-bought food, it's right nearby. If you buy something from a store, don't worry about throwing away the packaging or trash.

I was stuck there from the U.S for almost six 'desperate' months during the height the stupid covid lock-down from Jun to end of Dec 2020. I planned for one month vacation there initially. Oh well I was at the top of the 123 story Lotte Tower and went to see just a few other places, very limited obviously. Loved to walk around at in the evening and night around beautiful quiet neighborhoods, in the daytime in the hilltops near the international airport and the Seoul downtown market streets. I was able to get around by public buses (an hour with a couple of transfers) and rail trains (fast). Nice and clean but public smoking rooms 😂
