How much damage is it costing each day

It is still doing damage. Our prescriptions are being denied. United paid the ransom, so United is liable.

Who was the company that did a Risk Assessment on Change Healthcare before the acquisition? Update your Passports maybe. ... BlackCat? That's the theme they went with? They're Russian. I would have gone with WhiteCat... or a hockey thing. This shouldn't of ever happened of course.

Ransomware can be stopped easily. Just don't let run. If a computer program can't run, it will do nothing. For example, on Linux based system, if a program can't set X attribute, it will not be able to run. So, on the Linux system, no one can set X attribute unless it is in safe mide. This will stop any ransomware, old, new, or zero-day from running.

how do you set that up? by default linux systems allow root user to set x attribute.

@@bebdaumon3948 you need to modify Linux (not hard) which I have a demo version that no one can add X and the file with X is read-only.

You need to modify Linux which is not hard. I have a demo version that no one can add X and the file with X is set to read-only. MS Windows does not use X. It can use White list to include all authorized runable libraries and modify the loader to check this list.
