- We've done it now... We have OFFICIALLY entered the yacht game. Phil Billy and Ben bought a 1992 Sea Ray 380 SS sport yacht! This boat is nearly 40 feet long, 12 feet wide and weighs over 13,000 lbs. It's been sitting unused at the Lake of the Ozarks for 5 years and needs some MAJOR overhauls. We might be in over our heads on this one!
Meanwhile the Cummins is put to the test weighing in at just under 26,000 lbs at the weigh station... yep that's right, we may have broke it.

I just did the same thing. Bought a 1987 Grady White 20 Overnighter, from the 1st. owner. This boat was sitting for 7 years. But now it's a great boat repair shop. Good luck with your monster boat.
Quite the boat, wow. That's one good thing about driving newer Dodge trucks, you'll get to meet a lot of nice mechanics.

Ben, they make a fabric dye in a spray can that I’ve seen many car resto channels use to dye stained and faded seats and carpets that look fantastic and they swear by it. I think it’s a rust oleum product. A gold or even a splash of black would look nice.
Buy yourself a Ford Superduty and you won't have any problems. Powerstroke diesels are BEASTS!
I was worried when i heard the ram couldn't get through the hills of the ozarks , then he said its a 3/4 ton and i was like oh man, my 3500 is gonna be just fine lol
It helps when your clutch fan is working. That was the issue, no cooling air flow

Shes still a work in progress! My best advice when it comes to restoring boats or bringing something back to life (lets be honest, this boat should have gone to a scrap yard)... Never cut corners. If you're going to fix something, fix it the right way using the right methods and materials. It will save you time, money, and head aches in the future. Nothing about a boat is cheap, so don't be cheap when fixing it back up! I've learned the hard way many times.

Electric Fan clutch turned out to be broken on the truck hence why we over heated and blew the power steering pump.

It's not worth it to buy an old hull , even a searay,,,, the trans and stringers are shot,,,,old plywood ,,,,believe it !!!!

@@lawrencefinney756 Trojan hulls are way thicker than searay and built like tanks. Even if it needs a new transmission a Trojan will outlast a searay every time. Unfortunately went out of business in the 90’s so it is true that they legit just don’t make them like they used to.
