    I preferred the movie ending to the book. Spoiler alert...... in the book Wen is accidently shot and killed but her death wasn't voluntary so it didn't count. In the end they decide to not sacrifice each other and it's implied that the world ends as they drive the truck back but it's never confirmed. The book was somewhat ambiguous.

    • @ngcwiz1755
      @ngcwiz1755 3 місяці тому

      Nah. The book is definitely a better ending. I totally dont agree with the creator thinking the movie ending is better either. The books ending is way more impactful that way. They had a choice to choose and didnt. And they ended up losing the one person who never got to decide anything. The movie imo attempts to give it a happy ending. Yea i get its supposed to be like Andrew and Wen have to live with that but they still get to live a happy life despite killing several thousand people. Not to mention Andrew could eventually find another partner in theory. Wen dying makes it far more impactful...it kinda just felt like Cabin in the woods all over again. The apocalypse being real was clear but in this movie at least the people are stating their case and trying to convince them. The method is done better but the outcome was predictable and boring to me. Wouldve sucked to see Wen die but honestly good to see Andrew suffer for his mistakes. Immediately started playing victim because of who he was, obvious temper, antagonized the guy in the bar(Not saying Redmond was right for attacking him. But he did ask to keep it down was all. Andrew assumed they were upset 2 gay men were talking. Redmond seemed to be at the other side of the bar. He walkee up asked nicely and like Andrew his anger got the better of him). I wouldve been fine with Andrew dying also over the book.
      He just...was upsetting me because i was told he was gonna be a good character. Andrew dying for his mistakes and shutting his partner down mid way and pushing his delusions that far wouldve made his sacrifice more meaningful. I just think the wrong dad died and that's on Andrew

    The movie was not perfect and predictable but highly watchable, just like the book they dont provide much answers to the individuals. Now it does deviate at the end but i like the movie ending over what happens in the book, which is very sad. I think i liked this movie because Dave Bautista showcases a different side that we haven't seen. He needs to get more edgy roles to be honest. It is slightly psychological because it does and doesn't reveal the story at the end.
